Chapter 3

I got to our empire and met my dad outside. Staring at the moon, it was slightly red. Before I could say anything, he spoke up. “You know, son, they say that the moon attains a red color when blood is shed; the more intense the red, the more the number of lives that were lost. Take a look at the moon. What color is it?" He asked me, “Slightly red father." I replied, and he just kept quiet as if thinking back on my words, so he is telling me that he can tell that somebody died tonight. I gulped. “Father," I called out. He didn't reply to me nor turn his head. His gaze was still focused solely on the slightly red moon. "I want to see more of what is out there before getting married to Nicola." I said he didn't say a word. I would've wondered if he heard me, but knowing him, he did. He was just weighing the thought in his mind, "You are free to go on one condition(I looked at him as if saying go on): You will marry Nicola immediately you come back. Do you accept these terms?" He asked me, and I thought about it for a while, then I nodded my head. “See you in eight months, son," he said as I bowed my head and left his presence. I clutched onto the unknown lady I saw in the forest backpack and started making my way out of the forest when Nicola ambushed me. “My dad just told me you are leaving." News travels fast, and I thought within me, “Whats it to you?" I asked her, “Is it not an offense to say good-bye to your husband now, is it?" "I'm not your husband," I said, slightly annoyed. “Not yet, you aren't," she said with a sly smile. Well, it was more of a smirk as I just ignored her and kept on walking, clutching onto the bag. NICOLA POV He ignored me and kept on walking. I was slightly hurt, but of course I was never going to show it. The wind blew, causing everything around it to sway to its rhythm, and I caught the smell coming from that bag pack he was holding so dearly; it smelled like strawberry. “I'm going to keep a close eye on you, Zachary." Still clumsy as ever (Zachary's POV) I stepped onto the road, looking around the place in awe. It was different than the forest; the number of trees was reduced. Then a vehicle sped past me, and a man inside yelled, “Get out of the way, punk!" I shifted a little as I nearly got hit by his vehicle, and after that, I went out of the tarred part of the road. I rummaged around her bag to see if I could find any clue as to where she lives or is going to be. I only found a coupon for ice cream. I saw the address in the coupon, so I decided to trace it. (Audrey's pov) I got down from the cab I was in, limping into my dorm. After a long time of trying to get to my dorm room, I was finally at the front door. I unlocked it and saw Chloe kissing a guy really deeply. As they saw me, he hurriedly wore his clothes and left the room. Chloe tried adjusting her hair and her clothes. “You couldn't have waited a little longer before coming back." She stopped talking when she noticed that my leg was bleeding. The guy she was with left the room as I was still limping to sit in my bed. “Oh my God, Audrey, what happened?" She asked frantically as she brought the first aid kit and started tending to my wounds. “You wouldn't believe me if I told you," I said. “Come on, try me." "I was attacked by a warewolf." “And you are still alive?" She asked me, but from the look on her face, she didn't believe me, but I still answered her anyway: "I'm alive because, by some miracle, I just appeared on the road far away from the wolf that attacked me." Yeah, okay, if you don't want to tell me what happened to you, there's no need to tell such an unbelievable joke," she said as she just finished bandaging my leg. "I didn't make it all up." "Yeah, right," she said, "I told you, you wouldn't believe me." I said as I stood up from the bed, slightly angry. My leg still hurt, but I still walked out of the room. I needed to cool off. I went to Benny's ice cream place, went to the counter, and met a guy who worked there. “Hi, I had one coupon for a free scoop of ice cream, but I lost it. Could you help me?" I asked, “I'm not sure I can help you, Miss. If you want ice cream, you're going to have to buy it just like everyone else," he said as Benny walked in. “hi Benny!" I said as he was coming our direction, I wanted to try to reach him, but I tripped and almost splashed someone's tray of food. "Watch it wierdo,” the little girl said as she walked away with her mom. I overheard her telling her mom I'm a creep, then Benny got to where I was and helped me up. I stared at his middle-aged face; he was wearing a pink apron and had one of the warmest smiles I had ever seen. "Hey Audrey, still as clumsy as ever I see," he said, smiling. As I was still struggling to stand up, Benny noticed my leg. "That's some nasty injury you've got there. What happened to you?" He asked "Long story, but I have a favor to ask. I'm having a really rough day. I lost my coupon and my money, and with this injury in my leg, it's all just too much for me." I was getting really worked up “Jerry give her a tub of ice cream she could really use it" Benny said “thanks Benny you are the best" I said as Jerry brought it as he was giving it to me it almost fell “try not to spill this one okay" Jerry said and Benny said he's right handle it with care" Benny said as I nodded my head and started looking for where to seat then I saw this guy painting while seating on table, his silver eyes stared at me then he focused back on his work he was so good looking it was almost unreal I was drawn to his seat and as I was approaching his table, someone pulled out their chair and it tripped me and I fell and the tub of ice cream fell from my hand and spilled directly in his work washing away the paint “oh my gosh!" I exclaimed as the little girl I met earlier said “wierdo" I stood up and headed to the guys table to appologise “no no no no no I spent a long time on that piece of work" he said slightly upset I said “im an artist we can recreate your painting please don't be mad at me" I pleaded with him " he starred at me with those silver eyes of his and I felt butterflies in my tummy “okay we have a deal" he said with his voice which was slightly deep but still sounded like an angel talking I was lost looking at him, “tomorrow by this time we start the painting" he said as he carried the soiled sketch pad I could only see blurred red paint, as he started leaving “you didn't tell me the venue where we would meet again" “there's a garden to the east of here, and by the way I left a present for you" he just said and left me before I could ask what it was I saw my back pack on the chair he was sitting on I was astonished “what the! How where did he go?".
