Darien

When I´m in the water with the sharks i feel like I´m right at home, they respect me, and sees me as their equal. People tends to think of them as stupid animals, but they are so wrong, they have hunting strategies, and they have their very own unique family patterns. They are curious and playful if of course they don´t see you as a prey.

I look towards the moon and wonder over the fact that it so suddenly stopped raining, and marvels over how beautiful it is on this night, in my nearly 850 years even I can´t remember the moon has ever looked that big, as if there are something calling it closer to earth. The stars are trying to compete with the moon in brightness but to no avail, they are overflown with the ominous light the moon sets around the sea, it feels kind of like the moon acts as a warning.

That is about the time I hear it the first time in my whole existence and everything seems to seas to exist, the most alluring beautiful sound of giggles playing out over the sea, and I just stops dead in the water, it sounded like and orchestra of little bells, and the sound of water gliding down the stream, it´s like it is calling to me, urging me to come closer to figure out who the voice belongs to.

Then it stops, and I shake my head in complete bewilderment trying to regain my focus but for some reason I feel really sad. While I am thinking my whole world spins and a whole steam of fluorescent blue fishes they are all around me and the sharks and it is like they are trying to tell me something as they seems to swim in one direction towards the shore.

That is when I he heard it, the full blown female laughter like none I have ever heard, it is so wonderful and unconcerned, and full of warmth, and I immediately wonders, who is the girl with that much music in her voice, and how can she just by her laughing voice alone, make me, one of the oldest vampires to ever walk the earth turn into a complete pile of pure euphoria.

I sets the course so that I follow the fishes, and the sharks just scatters away like my sudden euphoria scares them off. I feel the closeness and the feeling that there is something evil around here hiding is gone.

From far away I see a silhouette at the beach, it´s a young woman, but even though she cant see me I dive into the ocean and speeds towards the shore, something about that woman is intriguing. So I comes closer, and I hide on the top of a high cliff, when I take in the surrounding scents I stops right dead in my track, it is her, she is the one with the alluring scent I have ever smelled. when I see her at the beach I can´t help but take her appearance in, she is very feminine to look at, and when her eyes scouts over the cliff I gets a glimpse of her eyes, they have the same color as the Caribbean waters near the beaches, I wonder if it is contacts.

They are in pure contrast to her platin blonde hair which is almost silver-colored in the moonlight and goes all the way down to the waist. Her body is well-built, lean and toned almost to perfection, she is laughing heartedly and when I finally find the source of her fun, I can´t stop myself from let out a bone chilling growl of pure jealousy.

There in the water, there is a man or rather a boy, to my annoyance I sees the affection he shows towards her, even though I got no right to have it this way. I can even smell from here that he lusts for her, I really don´t know how to make sense of this new feelings, but I do know that I really don´t like the way he is hinting to her.

"why don´t you come in? the water is great." I hear the asshat ask her.

"Nate you know perfectly well that I do not want to go into the water." I hear her voice for the first time and it is like my whole insides are turning into complete mush.

"it has been 14 years and you still don´t want to swim? Spoilsport" he says and comes with a hidden word so obnoxious it shouldn´t be said out loud.

"Nate, you know I love you (I can´t stop myself from slipping out another growl), and you said you would always stay by my side no matter how long it take to take the jump, even if I never gets there, and now you are pushing me...

did you hear that it sounded like a beast growling?"

she only hesitates for a moment and look around.

"come on babygirl, you know there are no big predators around here, and the nearest werewolf pack that we know of is 200 miles from here. or do you think that we are being watched by a shifter or something?" he says it with a smile on his lips and laughs, but I can see his marking comment make an impact on her as she flinches just slightly, for human eyes in the darkness you could easily overlook it.

"Nate, what has gotten into you, since we came out here you have either trying to act as a class clown and talking down to me, or a sadistic prick, I will not tolerate that you are trying to push me to do something that I am not comfortable with, and the fact that you even question if I heard something and furthermore you dare to make fun of me. I am supposed to be your best friend, but you just make fun of me." She is a peace of art, I glory in her musiclike voice and secretly cheers when I see this Nate guy standing speechless.

because I know that she probably DID hear something growling which surprises me, because of the far distance because I´m pretty sure it was me she heard.

"I´m sorry sweetheart I didn´t meant to insult or hurt you, I really AM your friend and I will do everything for you, but stop being your friend? that I can´t do. I love your spirit and I have since I rescued you from the water when you was 4 and I was six, I will not behave that way again." He looked guilty and heartbroken at her, I could smell his desperation seeping out of him, because let´s face it who would want to date a guy who is marking her.

He steps out of the water unto the beach and drags her into a hug. I see her stiffen.

"Whatever Nate, you broke my confidence, I am still your best friend, but counting my friends it is you I consider my closest and then you pull a stunt like that. I need time to think so will you please drive me back to campus I´m very tired." I cringe at her tone of word, and somehow I feel the hurt deep inside me.

I have to do something I cant afford to become soft.

However I do need to be closer to this girl, who has my thirst running wild, and my pulse and my really confused feelings, and somehow my bloodlust returns, and I can once again feel my thirst surface and my eyes turning crimson. This is very odd, to be thirsty again so close after draining a whole body, I shake my head in disbelief but when I see the girl, and the boy Nate going into the truck and driving off I feel tempted follow but that would be dangerous with my thirst out of hand.

I indulge in the feeling of bloodlust and sense the presence of humans, I follow the scent into the woods, and come across a couple of young women who is totally lost in each others closeness. I doesn´t even think as I glamour both of them, I hear one of them gasp as I take one of the girls and tilts her head back I can feel the blood pumping just behind her skin, I sinks my fangs in her and her constant moans is bothering me, her friend is trying to get to me but I sends her a pointed look and growls through my bloodlust, she looks at me shake her head, at settles with the intimacy she can inflict on her friend. I don´t know why but I cant get myself drain her completely, but neither have I had enough. So I let go and immediately grabs hold of the other girls leg, I bite into her thigh and let them do with each other what they want. But it seems like they are loosing their inhibitions, i smile to myself knowingly this is one of the reasons many vampires ends up "playing with their food". When I finally feel full I erase their memories of me being there, so they only remember each other and sets for home.

When I´m finally home, I goes straight to the Livingroom here I find Shane and Jason (they are twins) watching a movie on mute and Shane is delivering all the lines perfectly, he is such a nerd, but I cant help but smile at my best friends who besides a difference of 180 years is almost as old as I am, I met them when the world was still new, and I was getting to know the place where I was living, ever since I met them we have been inseparable ever since, they are the closest thing I come to a family and then there is of course Jennifer who I see most like the annoying littlesister, the girl Shane asked me to turn because they had a feeling they belonged together.

I do know mates are a common traits for most supernaturals like us, but in all my years of existence I have never heard of a vampire having a true mate.

They glance at me and then at each other, almost at the same second their whole facial expression turns wicked humorous, when Shane says.

"Where have you been? it was almost 6 hours ago you said you were going out to eat, and by the way you reeks of different aromas where on earth have you been?"

I´m not comfortable with what little strength of will I have shown tonight and I am slightly embarrassed.

Shane however seems to feel the anguish I´m in and don´t push any further but I know as my allied and my family I own them to know the truth.

"You´re right I went to feed, and I ended up draining one girl until she died, and afterwards I fed on two females as well, I don´t really know what came over me, but my bloodlust has been out of control most night. Furthermore I almost lost my self-control and destroyed a bar full of humans" I shake my head, and I cant stop myself from from feeling embarrassed.

Even Jason seems interested now. So Shane interrupts me.

"wow easy now bro, we didn´t mean to get you feel guilty, however it is a little odd, because of your age it shouldn´t be necessary to feed that much, you shouldn´t have to drain a body and you should definitely don´t have to feed from 2 more humans afterwards and you should have complete control over your bloodlust It should be enough just to have a small sip, so I am a bit confused, something has got to have happened. Otherwise I am freaking out, although but I haven´t got a clue what could have let you to this point"

"I´m sorry really don´t know what happened, why my bloodlust was so out of control, but I am perfectly fine now, I do have a suspicion on why I lost control, but I´m not the slightest bit sure that´s the case. And I do know I should tell you, but I´m just not ready because I don´t understand what it is about yet. But you will of course be the first to now. Now do tell me is Dimitry home, he has to help me" I say looking at them.

"Jason I think he has lost it he have us, and he is looking for Dimitry why?" Shane sniggers, and Jason joins in.

"Will you just shot up, at least for now. We have to check in and start at campus, it would be easier to blend in with the humans then."

"Dude I really don´t want to go back to school, but I have a feeling that this is about more than you let on, and this asshat is of very little help to you without me, so of course we are in." Jason say and looks at his twin.

After our conversation I go straight to Dimitry´s room, (there lives about 16 vampires in our house besides us, they use these opportunities to feel like they belongs), and Dimitry is the worlds best hacker unknown to mankind.

When he opens the door he just nod and sit back down on his chair.

"What do you want this time Darien?" He sounds annoyed but smiles at me "You just interrupted my favorite game"

I just shake my head a him. "you are unbelievable Dimitry, however I do need you to enroll, Me, Shane, Jason and Jennifer at campus, and every one else in here who wishes to join us, can you do that?" He just looks at me all confused.

"Why Darien, we have no reason to be there, as we all know more than all teachers alive?"

" I know Dimitry, but I think it would help us to better blend in amongst the humans, that´s about all there is to it, at least for now, if you don´t want to go there you can just drop out. So can you do it please?"

"For you Darien; off course I can, and you are of course right I enroll everyone here at the school based on their interests. You can consider it done."

"Thanks man, I will now try to get a few hours of sleep."

"sleep tight boss." Dimitry says and sniggers as I cringe.

I take of to my own room and fell on my bed and I drift of in a restless sleep, with a pair of blue eyes, and laughter like bells hunting me.
