Chapter Five

I woke up and yeah it felt good waking up in his arms. I don’t know when we dozed off but I was happy being beside him.
“Wakey wakey sleepyhead”
He frowned and turned
“I don’t want to wake up. Let’s stay in bed the whole day”
I laughed at his suggestion
“Okay , I also have a lot of work to do so a day in bed is what I need”
I went to make breakfast and I finished and called him and we ate.
“Baby uhm could you go to the pharmacy for me? I need painkillers, I’m having a nasty headache”
“Okay lovey[ he touches my forehead] You are quite hot”
He took the car keys and kissed my forehead then went out. I went to bed and took my laptop and started to work on the case.
I’m dealing with the card fraud and this case seem to have many pit holes and it’s look like these youngsters aim for the companies that earn billions.
“So we smart heh?”
I chucked and continued with work. After a while I went to grab a snack and came back to work
“I wonder where that man of mine is”
I took my phone and made a call, after two rings it was answered
“Babes, how are you?” Brianna answered
“ I’m alright and you?”
“ I’m fine, wassup?? I’m at work”
“ It’s work related. Do you know the case I’m working on??”
“The credit card fraud??”
“Yes”
“Yeah, what about it??”
“I want to know when is it scheduled for a hearing in court”
“I heard it’s in the next few weeks but they still need more concrete evidence”
“Okay lovey, thank you”
“No worries. I gotta get back to work”
She hang up and I decide to call Syamthanda since it been hours he left, even the headache I had is gone now.
The phone rings and goes straight to voicemail
I try again and straight to voicemail.
Okay I was panicking and pacing up and down the room.
My phone finally rings and it MIL[Mother In Law]
I answer it in the first ring
“Mah?”
She was shouting at the top of her lungs and I think my eardrum may be blocked after this
“So you leave my son and then you send your man to beat him up??”
For a second there I thought I heard wrong
“Cat got your tongue huh??”
“No Mom I didn’t.. I didn’t know that he was gonna come to your house I promise” I pleaded
“He arrived here and beat my child to a pulp, as we are talking Sanele is in hospital”
I couldn’t believe my ears as they listened as MIL sobbed on the other side of the call.
I couldn’t speak so I hung up and sighed aloud
I tried to call Syamthanda but voicemail. I decided to go and check on Sanele, yeah he has done me wrong many times but he’s in hospital because of my man so I gotta clean up his mess now
“Damn you Syamthanda”
I said as I made my way out after taking my phone and car keys
I got to the car and called MIL
“Mah which hospital is he in?”
“You want to go and finish him off??”
“No Mah, I want to just check up on him”
“ He’s in Netcare Kingsway Hospital and dare I hear something happened to him, you’ll know me well”
She hangs up before I could answer.
I wonder how Mpendulo is and where Syamthanda disappeared to?!
I started the car and off I go to the hospital.
