Chapter 2: Reunite

::Sarah's POV:: It had been a few years since I've visited the cabin and Jen kept urging me to go to its location. Maybe she wanted to visit Adam and Treys' tomb. Tonight was an awfully beautiful full moon, and Drake was setting up for tomorrow's training for the soldiers. Ronnie and Damien had ruled the country successfully. They have displayed outstanding leadership. The Bronze Fang Pack paid their respects and granted us full access without any trouble. After all... I still had previous friends buried in that territory. The night was illuminated by the starry sky. The wind still blew from that cliff. And I'd never forget. Trey... The first ever vampire to make an appearance and the first I befriended. I couldn't pick up his scent anymore. A part of me wanted to see his home, since I had my wolf back and all. All in all, things have been pretty peaceful, but Jen keeps whimpering every night, unable to determine what was the matter. I haven't utilized my lycanthropy powers either. Drake wanted me to never have to resort to that monstrosity. Transforming into it caused permanent physical markings on my skin. So far, there were minor ones lined along my right forearm. I gazed upon the run-down cabin. Its condition had worsened over the years, I had to be careful where I stepped. The wooden floors creaked and snapped. The gloomy aura it possessed while the torn curtain whipped with the wind. "Where is it?" Jen's ears pricked up. Where's what? I realized what she was talking about. The statue of Adam and Trey was missing! Nothing else seemed to be missing? Just their tomb? There weren't any signs of thievery or residue. It was like it never existed! "I'm not crazy Sarah," Jen growled, "Something is very wrong here." I couldn't agree with you more Jen. I continued to investigate and had no luck with clues. I should check the cliff line. I exited the building and ran to the furthest part north. My memories came pouring in. This was where I wanted to leave it all behind. Where my emotions got the best of me. But, Trey appeared. Trey... I looked down and saw a small ridge where his home was built. "Let's go Jen." Jen nodded and commanded my body to transform. Our jet black fur with white abstracts of a husky. Our piercing yellow eyes leaped down to the ledge. We landed safely. The wind blowing from the bottom still made a visible updraft. That was how Trey saved me on time. I looked at the entrance and saw that the place was also a bit run down. The books were covered in dust and cobwebs. His favorite chair was still lodged in the corner. I walked into his room where I had once read his diary. Familiar tears formed in my eyes, he was gone too soon. "Seems like you still remain a crybaby." Jen instantly fluffed up! We did not hear anyone coming! "Who's there?" I growled. There was another voice, "The boogeyman!" The voice sounded frail. I took my fighting stance, I was not taking any chances. I tried to strengthen my senses and was able to see a couple of silhouettes. "One is big, be careful Sarah," Jen hissed. "How nice to receive a visitation from an old friend," the voice boomed. "Show yourself!" I demanded. I felt an immense power strike through my body. It gripped and threw me onto the couch! My heart raced and my eyes dilated. Jen sensed danger, but her tail began to wag? Jen... what's wrong? She didn't reply. Out from the shadows loomed the big silhouette. A black man stepped out of the shadows. His shoulder was broader than the mountainous horizon. His eyes glowed in a deep amber red. And he wore a familiar smile across his face. "T-Trey?" My body trembled. "In the flesh," he introduced. I bawled and ran to hug him. I cried and wailed. Was this really Trey? "I thought you were dead?" I sobbed, still refusing to let him go. "Well," he coughed, "Technically we are still dead. Just not right now." "We?" I looked up at him. "Yeah, b***h!" The female voice interrupted. She stepped out, and she was just a little taller than me. Her beautiful purple eyes met with mine, and she had curves that matched her sass. "Who are you?" I glared, "What are you doing here with Trey?" "What you talking about? Trey's my man!" she spat. "Trey belongs to Adam," I took a step back, "Who are you impostors?" Trey took a step forward, "First you trespass onto my property, and then question my identity. Should I remind you personally?" That threatening voice was one of his copyrighted personality. "Okay, so I know you are Trey... but who is that? And by the way..." I snarled, "I'd refrain from calling me b***h, b***h!" Trey placed a palm over his mouth as if he was enjoying this scenario. My heart wanted to leap back to him to get him away from this strange woman! But, the woman rolled her eyes. "Someone's grew some balls just because she found out she is a lycan, huh?" she said smugly, "I'll still kick your ass Sarah." "How do you know my name?" I barked. "The name's Aidah, unpleased to meet your rude ass acquaintance," she answered with her middle finger in the air. "AIDAH! Ahahaha!" Trey burst out laughing. I couldn't understand what was happening, but the two were mocking me. My eyes darted across from one to the other, not letting my guard down. "b***h, it's me! Adam!" she placed her hands on her hips. "Y-you're not Adam," I denied, "Adam is peacefully resting." "Well, I thought we were, until we have been summoned to be your guardian angels!" She said so casually. Guardian angels? What? I turned to Trey, who didn't say anything but went into his room. "Trey!" I called out. He ignored me. I faced the impostor and lunged forward. She took a step to the side and yawned, "You still fight like a bull, just charge..." I whipped around and lunged once again, where I was met by her grip on my hair. She spun me against my weight and I flew against the wall. "C'mon hoe, these hands are rated E for everyone!" she taunted. I ran in, she was about to throw a jab. I ducked and swept her off her footing and mounted her. I lifted my fist into the air and was about to strike. Before I landed, just an inch away from her nose, she muttered, "I've missed you." Her eyes twinkled with sincerity, and Jen even calmed down a bit. "Well, Eric misses Jen..." Jen's heart fluttered, and it impacted mine the same. My tears of confusion reformed into tears of happiness. Jen confirmed that the woman was indeed a werewolf and the scent of her wolf definitely was Eric. "A-adam?" I questioned. She pulled me down and embraced me. Her hugs were so familiar and warm. My heart synced with hers and our wolves touched noses. "Team JenEric is back," she softly whispered to me. ADAM! "You are him!" I exclaimed. No one else knew about our secret best friend code name but us! "Are you really Adam?" I asked again. "Same soul, different flesh," she then sat upright and carried me, because I wouldn't let go. "I must be dreaming," I was in total disbelief. "Let me punch you and see," she offered. I giggled and rested my head onto her chest, I then pulled away, "Wait... so why are you a girl?" "Girl," she sassed, "I wish I knew! The moon goddess said I was supposed to communicate with you through hunting, but I wouldn't call this an upgrade." "What's my mom's name?" I quizzed. "Stella." She answered. "Who is my mate?" I added. "Well, technically..." she hesitated, "You've rejected multiple ones. But your most current one is Drake. But Derrick was one of them." My heart sank. Derrick was a part of our "bromuda triangle". He protected me like a little sister. I had been so numb from rejecting people, that I didn't think his confession was nothing more than a joke. And, now, he's dead. "It is you," I muttered under my breath. "Why do I have to explain my whole life story, but Trey gets off from a threat?" she interjected. "Because," I hugged her again, this time more tightly, "You were one of my first loves." "Nuh-uh," she pushed me away, "You're barking up the wrong tree girl. Never curious, never will!" Yeah, that was definitely Adam. Trey returned and pocketed his diary into his cloak, "Now that introductions are out of the way, how's about we get down to business?" I nodded and sat there to listen. Trey begins explaining about the spell that was released when they died. It didn't make sense to me, but it did at the same time. There is a legendary vampire named Absalom who is specifically after me. And that there may be a possibility his sister Gina was still alive. "How will we find him?" I was dumbfounded. "We are not certain, we can either wait for him to make a move, or we can scout for details," Trey contemplated, "But it won't be easy." "What makes you say that?" Adam asked. "Because if he is not within the werewolf territory, there are only two other places we can search. The vampire domain and the human government." "I thought those were just myths," I gasped. "You thought the same about vampires, but you've met one, keep an open mind," Trey continued, "It's just a hunch, but I think we should check the human territory first." "Why so?" I asked. "Let's just say that they're easier to hunt than werewolves, and Absalom must be needing blood to regain his strength." "But you said that werewolf blood is poisonous to vampires," Adam implied. "To my level of caliber, yes... but this is the deity of all vampires. The one who wiped out the Lycans. Aka, what Sarah is..." "And I'm the only one in existence right now," I whispered. "That we know of," Trey corrected me ,"We can only hope you're the only one." "Well," I puffed, "What are we waiting for. Let's go!" "You can't be serious," Adam folded his arms, "You'll stand out like a sore thumb!" "The human world isn't all sunshine and rainbows either. You being clueless and a Lycan, can lead to terrible miscalculations..." I tilted my head, "Then what am I supposed to do?" Adam glared at me, "Unless you want to join us in the afterlife, I say you stay put for a while. We need to know who we are going up against." I nodded, he was right... I mean she! Trey scooped up Adam and headed to the entrance. I tugged at his cloak, "Where are you going?" "Sight-seeing," he replied with no further explanation. "Be back in a few days. Oh, and by the way, don't tell anyone about us." He scrunched his shoulder blades together and his wings expanded. I remembered the first time I witnessed that majestic moment. Adam looked uncomfortable but turned to me. "I can't transform Sarah. I don't know why." "What do you mean you can't transform?!" I gasped. She shriveled into Trey's arms, "I'm not sure how or why... but I've become a girl and can't use my wolf abilities." I sympathized for him. I remember being wolfless, and I've never felt more vulnerable and alone in my life. "It's good to see you," I looked at him, "Welcome back." "Close up before you leave," Trey prepared to take off, "Can't have your mutt smell all over the place." He sprung into the updraft and flew into the sky. I utilized Jen's strong hind legs to climb the cliff walls with ease. "They're back!"
