She was up and ready to go to the car rental place to pick up the vehicle she picked. It was just a simple red jeep, nothing over the top. She arrived and gave her name and booking reference number. The guy walked her round to the vehicle, and she stopped dead. Sorry, but they has been a mistake. This isn't what she hired.
"Yes, a Zola Hall called insisted we update your vehicle and give you the safest best vehicle we have." The man said.
It's beautiful, but she couldn't take this the insurance she took out. It won't cover it.
"It's all sorted, miss. You just need to fill it with fuel and check the oil and any other maintenance. Il give you the dealerships with have along on your journey you can take it too if any problems. They will tow you aswel, " he said.
Okay, she guess she is having it. Thank you.She signed the paperwork, and she was given keys. She couldn't believe it. It was a beautiful black and silver Jeep Avenger. She climbed in it and had a port for her phone. Heated seat. All the best luxuries. She placed her phone in it and called Zola. She answered on the second ring.
"Do you like it?" Zola said.
Yes, it is beautiful but not at all needed. She would be happy with the jeep she picked.
"You need something luxury if you are going to be travelling around so much." Zola said.
Thank you. She appreciates it. You are truly one of a kind Zola, very kind and generous. She can at least camp out now. Enough room for camping equipment.
"Good, happy to help. Please keep me updated on your travels." Zola said.
She will let you know. Well, she better be off. She hung up, put in the sat nav the hotel she was staying at, but would look at camping sites later. She loves being in the forest. She arrived at the hotel at 1 pm. She checked in and decided to have a look around to get her bearings.
She stayed in Philadelphia for 2 days and saw all the sights, art museums, shows, liberty Bell, the zoo, and the magical gardens. The famous rocky statue, it was on the bucket list. Kemmi would be jealous and can't wait to tell her. She even went to a baseball game. She didn't understand it but it was good fun.
She video called the girls that night. Was nice to see them. She updated them on her past week activities. Jess said she looked happy and relaxed. She felt it. She said her next call would be from North Carolina.
Her next stop was Washington. The historical building to this city had the history child inside her jumping for joy. She found a campsite about an hour out of Washington city centre. It wasn't expensive and it had washing facilities as well. She managed to purchase most of her camping gear before leaving New york.
She stayed here for about 4 days. She got talking to a few people at the campsite over the 4 days. Ate with them even danced and partied with her on her last night. She had her first kiss since her divorce. He was called Chad, who was on a gap year from France. He was nice, but a kiss was as far as she was willing to go right now.
It was a nice kiss, but he kind of pined her down. It lasted for a while to a point when she had to push him off. He was getting a bit much. She went to bed after that she could tell he felt bad. She made clear it wasn't him. She had a 4 hr drive to North Carolina tomorrow. She did, but it was her excuse. She thanked them all and hugged. She left in the morning before they got up.
Her next stops were in Wilmington, Jacksonville, Raleigh, Rocky Mountain, Salem, and Charlotte. She'd been travelling for 3 weeks now. Not at all bored.
She did have to find a dealership after someone broke into the car and smashed the windows. It was her fault she decided to take an unrecommed campsite. She was tired and hungry from hiking all day and just needed to rest. The dealership was understanding and didn't charge her. Nothing was stolen. The car alarm went off and scared them away. She just cleaned the glass up, packed her stuff away, and left. Actually, parked outside the dealerships, they got a shock when they arrived for work the next morning.
She filled up 3 memory cards, just spending the last 3 weeks travelling. The majority of the campsites were lovely here and met some great people that she will definitely keep in touch with.
She followed onto Atlanta, Nashville, Mississipi, Louisiana, and New Orleans Houston. It's had been just over 6 weeks since she started her journey. It was the end of June. It's her birthday in 3 weeks. The girls would be visiting. So she needs to decide in a week time and tell her friends where she'll be. She's told them about all the amazing things every city had had to offer. She's nowhere near bored yet. She managed to get what's she needed along the way. Camping was the best idea she's had.
She's talked a bit with Zola and sent her photos, especially of art she's come across. Zola gave her the correct enthusiasm she wanted. She told her to remember to let her know when she's near Dallas.
She was on her way to Dallas tomorrow. She was headed for a campsite near Great Trinity Forest. One of the professors she worked with said it one a beaut he never wanted to leave. They is a small campsite not far, so she hopes she'll be able to get a spot.
The next morning she arrived at the campsite it was full the ranger said. She could get a spot tomorrow. She will just stay in her car or call Zola. She decided to go for a hike. It was a nice day. She changed in the toilets nearby. Pack all her valuable in the camera bag. So if someone broke in again, they would just take clothes and toiletries all can be replaced.
She started walking the trail and could see many people doing the same. She pulled out her camera. Taking shots. People holding hands. The trees, mountains, wildlife. She saw a group of rabbits were so cute looked like mum, dad, and 4 babies. She couldn't resist following them. So cute.
She followed them down a path. She could see many people could hear them but not see them. She carried on going. She did remember her colleagues telling her that if it doesn't look like a well walked path, don't do it. She wanted to follow the rabbits, tho.
She ended up losing them. She spotted a white tail deer and was beautiful like bambi wasn't afraid of her. Let her take pictures of it. It didn't run. it just carried on eating. Then she saw it look startled and ran she chased after it, then thought to herself What the hell are you doing?" It's a wild animal dont bloody chase it. She laughed to herself.
She slowly turned around to go back the way she came, to stop dead and see 3 mangled looking wolves. All grey colour. They looked unkept and thin. Holes in their fur. One was missing an eye she noticed. s**t she's in trouble.
She slowly backed up towards the tree. So she thought she could climb it. All were moving quickly s**t what does she do. She kind of froze against the tree, then they lunged at her she screamed and ducked down, covering her face.
Then she heard a mans voice speaking to her.
"Are you alright, miss?" he said.
She looked up to see a man about 6.7, black short hair. Muscles all over his body. He was only wearing a pair of shorts and no shoes, how strange. Her eyes reached his face, and he was gorgeous. With beautiful blue eyes. She saw him smile the most gorgeous smile she'd ever seen.
"Hello, I'm Colin Wood," he said.
She couldn't help but stare at him. Where did he come from. Where have the wolves gone?. It was so quiet now. He just stood smiling at her, in silence. Letting her gather her thoughts. Did he say Colin Wood?
