Werloth POV:
“I guess your mate is a very special and beautiful woman” Alice said, smiling at me, and I was getting lost.
What are they doing? And then, I heard a beautiful angelic voice echoing the place.
“Enough all of you already, it’s not funny”. Angeline told them with a serious expression.
She looked at me and smiled as her hands landed on my shoulders, making me relax.
“I’m sorry, Werloth, I was so anxious that I woke up very early in the morning and I made my way to my parents' room to tell them I had found my mate. Luke was there too and I ended up saying it was you.” Her straight forward honesty got me turned on.
How much more can she surprise me?
“I clearly remembered to tell them to not pressure you into saying anything and to let you do it at your own time because you’re dealing with a lot already, but you know how my parents are, I’m so sorry.” She said, staring seriously at them. They had an apologetic look on their faces and she apologized, looking at me and her voice was no louder than a whisper.
I chuckled over the situation, I really liked Liam’s family and enjoyed their presence.
They all seemed very united and fun to deal with.
“It’s alright. Actually, I was about to tell them”, I told her.
“I knew you were going to cancel the coronation. I’m proud of you, my friend”, Liam told me. Of course I would.
I wanted to be with my mate, with my Angel.
“Take good care of my daughter Werloth. I know you will, she’s our precious jewel. I’m sure she will contribute a lot to your realm because she is smart, strong, she truly cares for others and she’s a great leader.” Alice told me.
“Mom, the way you’re saying, it looks like I’ll be living here from now on.” My Angel told them and I couldn’t help the smile on my face at this possibility.
“Well, kind of, won’t you do archery? It will take a lot of time and practice, sweetheart. Besides, you’ll always have your place at the mansion whenever you feel like it, but I’ve been through it already and I know how the bond works, both of you must be craving each other and to be close, a little advice; do not fight against it.” Alice told us and I smiled gently at her, I glanced at my Angel and she blushed. She was so cute.
“All right, mom, don’t worry, it’s not in my plans to fight against it at all.” My Angel replied to her, determined, surprising me again, and I felt something warm and good taking all over my heart.
She looked at me and noticed I was staring at her too much and she blushed again.
She made her way back to the servants, taking her hands off my shoulders.
She was doing something with them and she came out carrying a tray of chopped fruits and coffee and the two servants were behind her bringing other trays of bread and the rest of the breakfast.
Even the servants were happier today with my Angeline around.
“Thank you, Mary and Carmen, please have a seat and join us.” Angel said, taking the teapot and coffee pot out of the tray.
I stood up and pulled the chair for my Angel to sit by my side. While she was sitting, I pushed the chair for her and I sat on my chair again.
The servants glanced at me like they didn’t know what to do.
I nodded at them, smiling, and they also sat on the chairs on the dining table. Mary and Carmen looked very uneased.
Angel looked at them and she noticed their uneasiness.
“Are you OK? What’s wrong?” My Angel asked them.
“Nothing ma’am!” they replied.
“Oh please, no formalities with me. We were just having a wonderful time preparing breakfast together, suit yourselves with our delicious breakfast.” She told them smiling and they relaxed and smiled back at her and they started to serve themselves.
I don’t remember a day we ever had breakfast with them.
I didn’t even know their names. Melian was the one responsible for them.
“Werloth, do you know Mary and Carmen have a son of the same age? That’s so awesome. Where are they now?” She asked them.
“We can’t bring our kids so they stay at our house until we get back. Besides, they train every day on the castle’s training ground. We meet them at lunch time.” They said, and I frowned and started to listen to them carefully.
.
Angeline POV:
Mary and Carmen said that their kids were left alone in their house so they could work.
How is this possible?
“They’re just 7 years old, they’re too young. Isn’t there someone to take care of them?” I asked them.
I noticed that Werloth was also interested, his face looked concerned.
Actually, it looked like he didn’t know who was working inside his own castle. Maybe Melian was the one responsible for them.
“I feel the same way, no way my handsome elf would forbid kids in his castle”, Delphyne told me and I agreed.
I glanced at Luke and my parents, they were talking and smiling among themselves. I was glad about it.
“No, his dad left when I was pregnant”, Mary said, and my jaw dropped open.
“In my case, his dad left after I gave birth” Carmen said, chuckling.
“I’m so sorry for both of you”, I told them.
I wish I could do something. Maybe I could ask some of the dragons that work on our mansion to take a look at them.
“It’s OK. We weren’t fated mates” Carmen said, and Mary nodded and I turned myself to glance at Werloth.
“Aren’t kids allowed in the castle?” I asked him.
“It is. I’d never enact such a law. You can bring your kids with you if you wish to do so.” Werloth told them firmly, and I felt my heart burning over his wonderful attitude.
“Thank you so much, King Werloth. You truly are an amazing King”, Mary said, and Carmen dramatically nodded.
“We weren’t bringing them because Lady Melian never allowed us to”. Carmen said, like it was not a big deal, and I frowned.
“I think that Melian is the bad guy and it’s not because she was trying to take our mate.” Delphyne told me in my mind.
“I also have a bad feeling about it. I thought she was just a naïve elf with a broken heart, but now I have my doubts”, I told her back.
“Really? Why is that?” I asked them, and my gaze met Werloth, who still had his face frowned.
“That’s really weird, I’ve never got to know about it.” Werloth stated.
“We don’t know, she just said that we should follow her every order and we have done so ever since she was the one who would be crowned”, they said, and things were getting into a very complicated and tricky way.
I tried to talk about something else. My parents were there and I didn’t want them to get involved.
I sneaked a peek at my parents and Luke and they were still talking and laughing among themselves.
“How are you enjoying your breakfast, ladies?” I asked them with a smile.
Suddenly, I felt Werloth’s hand on mine on my lap and my heart started to race, but I wanted him to know that I was enjoying it, so I intertwined my fingers with his and the tingles of our skin contact was something that was driving me insanely in love.
Delphyne was giddy in love in my mind.
His skin was soft and his hand was warm.
I glared at him and he was looking intently at me with that gorgeous face and his eyes were full of love or maybe I was imagining things, but it felt good.
I smiled at him and he did the same to me.
I blushed and looked down, I felt like a human teenager in love. I didn’t know what to do, but I enjoyed it.
“It’s delicious, Princess Angeline. Thank you so much for spending such a great time with us, you really are different from Lady Melian. You were nice to us without even asking for anything in exchange, you invited us to sit with you instead and enjoy our company. I’ll never forget that.” Mary said, and I looked at her snapping me out of the moment I was having with my mate.
“Call me Angeline. And don’t you worry about that, I could use your company again sometime soon. I also want to meet your kids”, I told them.
“You are a great cook, Angeline. I hope you can stay with us; we had a great time and I appreciate you, King Werloth. Thanks for letting us bring our kids.” Carmen said.
“Don’t worry about it, Mary and Carmen, it’s my pleasure”. My Werloth told them.
I could call him mine, right?
“Definitely, I would ask the Goddess to change me to another human if you didn’t”, Delphyne joked, and I chuckled inwardly.
They stood up after eating and made their way out.
“I want to take you on a date today, what do you think?” Werloth asked me and I smiled.
“I would love that.” I replied to him.
Then, I noticed our surroundings getting quieter.
I sneaked a peek around me and my parents and Luke were staring at us. I blushed right away and they just had that smile on their faces.
“Well, I guess we have to go now. Thank you so much, King Werloth. We’ll be in touch.” My dad said.
“Call me if you need anything, sweetheart.” My mom said and I just nodded. She looked at Werloth and placed her hands on his shoulders.
“It was pleasant to meet you again, Werloth, thank you.” She continued.
“Don’t worry. If I ever need anything, I’ll just flash to the mansion and get it, I love you.” I told them and kissed their cheek.
“Thank you very much, King Werloth! Sis, love you too”, Luke said and he hugged me, kissing my forehead.
“My pleasure. You are always welcome.” My Werloth told them before they flashed away.
We were finally alone.
He approached me and his fingers gently caressed my face and I was inhaling sharply over the overwhelming sensation he was making me feel.
I felt goosebumps all over my body.
“Your skin is so soft, you’re so beautiful.” He told me, making me melt all over him.
I looked at his crystal blue eyes and I blushed, but soon I smiled.
“So are you, Werloth.” I told him, but I couldn’t believe what I had just said because I couldn’t form any other words right now, just by the way he was looking at me.
Was he going to kiss me?
Then he looked away like trying to mask his shyness.
.
Werloth POV:
“Your skin is so soft, you’re so beautiful.” I told her, as my fingers were running softly over her face.
I wanted to touch every inch of her body, I wanted to make her feel good, desired and I wanted her to know how special she was to me.
She will today, though. I'd been thinking about it all night and I knew what to do.
I will take her on a date and I’ll make it special and memorable.
She looked at me and gave the cutest smile I’ve ever seen.
“So are you, Werloth” she said, surprising me.
Did she feel for me the same way I felt for her?
The thought of a mutual feeling made me long for her even more.
We were looking at each other and I almost kissed her hungrily, but I wanted her to have a good time with me so she could feel relaxed and loved before I kissed her, so I tried to hold myself back by looking away.
Staring at her mesmerizing eyes wasn’t helping the little self-control I had left.
Suddenly, I heard someone clearing her throat and when we turned ourselves to the side, a very enraged Melian was close to us.
“Good morning, King Werloth. So that’s the vixen who stole you from me?” She asked and I startled.
I could feel myself burning.
How dare she say such a thing about my mate?
“Good morning, I’m Angeline. I’m sorry for the trouble I caused you, but I didn’t plan this. I wish you could understand that and let us be. I’m willing to let it go this time because I can understand how broken-hearted you may be right now. I truly am sorry, but that doesn’t mean I’ll let you offend me this way.” My Angel said before I could even say something.
She was amazing, she stood for herself. I thought she was going to be hurt or looked down on, but she was a natural leader who wouldn’t bow to no one.
I stared at her with awe.
Melian looked uneased and she clearly didn’t expect that she would have Angeline talking back at her.
Neither did I. She was sweet and innocent but also strong and brave.
“I hope you can respect her from now on. Please, have breakfast. We’re about to leave.” I said, not unkindly, and I took my angel’s hand and lifted it to my mouth, kissing the back of her hand.
“Shall we?” I told her and she smiled and stood up.
“Please, excuse us”, she said to Melian, and we made our way out of the kitchen.
“I’m sorry for that”. We were in the ample room of the castle holding hands as we were walking over the door when I apologized.
“Don’t worry about it, I know she’s enraged but she’ll be better soon and we will be able to talk to her” she said, and she furrowed her eyebrows when she noticed we were walking to the door’s direction.
