Nile

                                                               Just watch I'm deadly.

        "If you don't call the cops I will!" Adam's mother said looking over her shoulder screaming at Adam. Adam stood there shirtless leaning against the kitchen island. Their kitchen was every wife’s wet dream professionally designed, bespoke, granite counters, stainless steel appliances. I looked at Adam with pleading eyes that screamed 'no'. He looked at me then back at his mother shaking his head faintly. She scoffed before looking back at me. My face was in her hands my nose was stuffed with napkins to catch the blood, a pressed ice pack against my jaw and she sat there carefully taking out the pieces of green glass out from my scalp and into tin bowl. "This is f*****g ridiculous-" Maddie said erupting from the corner she had been standing in instead of minding her own damn business. She made her way over to me with a roll of bandages and a tiny pair of scissors. I avoided her eyes, she laid her hands upon my skin. I had to hold in the urge of telling her to f**k off because her mother was right there "Mrs.Prince-" I started and her nose twitched and looked at me sternly "Addison.." she said cutting me off. Mrs.Prince made it a priority of hers to make sure me,my mother and Charlie were taken care of. If anything she was a second mother to me. I chuckled softly and sighed "Addison-" I started again, she smiled satisfied and pressed an ice pack to my head making me flinch "He has friends at the police station and he'll get out with nothing but a slap on the wrist. I can't risk him hurting Charlie or my mother. I'm his punching bag, he hasn't once put his hands on Charlie and he hasn't even hit my mother in years because I'm there to protect them" Living in that house means I have to be strong enough not to die but not too strong to get bold. The last time I got bold my little sister was traded off for 2 pounds of cocaine. As I trapped myself deep into my thoughts Maddie had been wrapping my lower abdomen and pressing soft kisses into my bruised side when her mother wasn't looking "When I go back there he'll be calm" Everyone in the room stopped, Addison blinked a few times and so did Maddie and Adam, they all looked at each other confused at my words. It was silent before Adam broke into a laugh shaking his head and going to the refrigerator "Yeah no, you aren't going back there. Juice anyone?" I c****d my neck at both Maddie and Aaliyah who both agreed with Adam "Yes please" Maddie said, Addison pressed a cold cloth against my head and took a deep sigh rubbing her forehead "Give me some wine honey". I felt like I was intruding, I couldn't stay here without feeling like a burden to this family. They were all far from perfect but I couldn't involve my life with theirs, I didn't want to f**k them up. "I can't just intrude on your lives like this Mrs. Prince" I said trying to plead with them, but they all ignored me.I met Adam's eyes as he devoured a cup of orange juice, his apple jumped around in this throat and the veins in his neck popped out. "You're my brother, and everyone knows I always wanted a brother" He winked at me as he coughed out getting the attention of his mother who chugged down her wine like it was a cold bottle of water on a hot summer day and Maddie who sat there drinking her cranberry juice. "I always wanted a sister but then again it didn't take much convincing for you two to put on my dresses and play house with me" Maddie smirked at both me and Adam and Mrs.Prince stood there with an open mouth and shook her head holding up her finger "Well if you're father is in a good mood tonight, you might be getting a sibling, as for the dresses boys..I don't even want to know" She set her wine glass onto the table both me and Adam opened our mouths to explain but she laughed and exited the kitchen "You're mother and brother are in the city. They are staying in my condo" that was the last thing Mrs.Prince said before her voice faded and the sight of her disappeared.

          Maddie, Adam,and I all stayed in the kitchen just talking about our lives. Well their lives as I sat there and listened to their rich people problems. Although I laughed along with them, cracking jokes, and smiling endlessly deep down inside, I was in so much pain. Mentally and physically I felt drained, stuck, hopeless. I was so afraid of being happy that I sabotage any shred of happiness I am experiencing. Because if I don't sabotage it, someone else will. I refuse to get my heart broken by anyone else. I don't think I want to be happy, happiness is just followed by sadness and emptiness. I mean look at me, the coldest and meanest person you'll ever meet. I thought to myself like this all the time, and right now in Adam's bed I stared up at the ceiling with my fingers intertwined resting underneath the back of my head. I hated myself, with so much passion. Not even the unbearable snores that came from the redhead that was sprawled out on the floor could distract me.

          The last place I wanted to be was school. I leaned against the lockers banging my head against them out of frustration. My mother and brother were safe but for how long? I couldn't just be normal teenager who went to high school and passed all of his classes, No f**k that. I didn't choose to be the messed up piece of s**t that I am today, but I didn't bother trying to change that image since everyone had grown a liking to it, what was the point? "Class today?" I opened my eyes and stepped out of my thoughts turning my head to face Adam who had just slammed his locker shut. "Got a joint?" I asked desperately on top of a chuckle, Adam nodded and I pushed my body off of the lockers eager to leave this s**t hole. Me and Adam walked in unison, we attracted the attention of everyone we walked passed I threw my hoodie over my head and it hid my forehead casting a shadow over my bruised and cut up face. Adam did all the waving and smiling I just ignored every person hollering my name trying to steal my attention. I wasn't in the mood to feed some desperate girl's confidence by just returning her 'hi'. Both me and Adam pushed through the doors of the front entrance, I skipped down the stairs wanting to get to the joint that was already calling my name. We were almost to the student parking lot until an aching voice stopped us "Skipping school? It's only Tuesday. Can't you just leave your delinquent business for another day. Perhaps Saturday?" I groaned turning around to meet a pristine girl who probably has more authority over than the president. Bella stood there in a yellow skater skirt dress, a light blue denim jacket and white flats. She stood at the top of the steps slowly making her way down shaking her head and clicking her pen as she scribbled down onto another detention slip. Adam snickered and shook his head looking up at her eyeing her body and especially her glowing hairless legs "Saturday is when I watch you through your bedroom window and j******f" the words flowed through his lips so easily and I almost puked, I made a sour face and shook my head laughing softly as I read her facial expression she was completely taken aback, she jerked her head backwards and wrinkled her nose. " Ach! You have zero respect for me, you are a sadistic boy!" she yelled stomping her feet onto the ground like a five year old and pointing her detention pad at him. Adam ran his fingers through his hair snickering and leaned against the railing crossing his arms shrugging nonchalantly  "And you have no curtains, I saw an opportunity and took it" he argued biting the side of his lip looking away from her and back at me laughing. I smiled shaking my head and looking away from the obvious s****l tension these two have for each other. A part of me wanted to know if Adam had any feelings for Bella, but then again he would've made his move by now. As the two started bickering something caught my attention, a ball of dark energy making its way towards us. "Autumn!" Bella hollered eagerly turning away from Adam, the girl had her head down and her arms clutched around her backpack pressing it against her chest. She dressed in all black once again, the beat up converse started to make an infamous name for themselves. As Bella's voice traveled down to the girl she lifted up her head and saw the three of us. I looked back up at Bella who waved her over, Adam let out a huge groan and I shook my head "You and Roxanne still doing the whole entire charity case thing" I said snickering underneath my breath which caught Bella's attention, she c****d her head away from sad case and stared me down narrowing her eyes at me. I threw my hands up in defense laughing softly, Bella made her way down the rest of the stairs. She stopped in front of me plastering a smile onto her face but hissed out evil words "Well you're still friends with Adam after what 9 or 10 years? Looks like the only charity case here is you" She turned away from me after her words snaked into my soul and sucked the energy out of me. She was right, the only reason why me and Adam had become friends was because he found me breaking into his kitchen for some food. They took me in and raised me, I should've pushed Bella in front of that car instead of saving her..yeah she would've been rotting in a box if I weren't there. My anger fueled my up as if I was an empty gas tank, the minute the ignition was turned on the car was brought to life, my anger roared like the engine. I tightened my jaw and lunged for her "I'll f*****g kill you, prude b***h!" I screamed, I grabbed her arm whipping her around from Allison and clenched my fingers into a tight fist and raised it into the air. The natural glow in her face slowly dimmed as her blue eyes widened in fright, her jaw dropped with absolute terror. She wailed, my fist inched closer to her face before I felt my hand come to an automatic stop. There she was again. She stood in between me and Bella who cowered behind her, both of her hands cradled my fist..warm. Her right cheek was a light purple mixed in with pink followed by a faded black eye, her bottom lip trembled their was fright written all over her face but her actions only read courage. Nile this is the anger controlling you right now, cut it out!. I snatched my fist out from her grip before shoving her away from me. I didn't want to stick around to watch the disappointment and fear dawn on everyone's faces, Before Allison could even hit the ground I turned my heels and the sound of her body hit the concrete and a slight smirk crawled onto my face Nile Cale, you definitely got your first class ticket to hell. 

        I felt the smoke warm up my mouth, it was such a shame how I would just puff it out. I exhaled through my nose and watched the smoke pour out of my nostrils. I was laying down on the cool leather seats of Adam's car, my body was sprawled in the back seat while Adam sat in the driver's seat with his feet propped up on the dashboard. With every exhale the car filled up with more smoke, clouds floated around in the car. "So, do you like her? Or do you just want to f**k her?" I asked Adam my words slurred, the joint dangled in between my lips as I turned my head forcing  my attention onto Adam. I didn't say her name, whenever we have conversations about girls like.. serious conversations we never say their names. Adam puffed out another cloud before holding the joint in between his middle and index finger he kept the joint a few inches away from his lips. A huge sigh came from his lips, it was stress. "I've known her since kitty pools and lemonade stands, she was always there and I was always watching her from a distance.. I think I'm in love with her" his words came out clear, hell it made my heart beat.I let out a slight chuckle before sitting up and leaning forward onto the armrest console, Adam's jaw tightened before turning away from me and focusing his attention out the window. At that moment, I realized that he was serious, the blonde beauty captivated his heart and he didn't know what to do about it. "Tell her dude, you can't sit here, get high, and expect her to know how you feel" I removed the joint from my lips and tucking behind my ear. He slightly shook his head and continued to stare out of the window, after a while he turned to face me "She wants nothing to do with me. We-" his apple jogged up and down his throat and took another hit from the joint Was he nervous? He let the smoke sit in his mouth before slightly parting his lips a bit and the smoke elegantly poured out. "We almost kissed last night. She pulled away, oh God Nile I was prepared to make love to her in that music room. I got irritated and made her drive me to Brooke's house" My body was frozen trying to take in everything he had told me. Many emotions ran through me like a rapid river, at last I processed everything completely. He had it bad for her. I mean who the hell says 'make l***' seriously? You f**k someone maybe two and call it a day. I pulled my eyebrows together and c****d my head at him "Wait, so you made the girl you like drive you to another girl's house? That's f*****g brutal Adam" I said leaning back into the backseat laughing softly. Adam shook his head once again and pulled his feet from the dashboard "f**k you" he spat before stealing another cloud from the joint, I smiled at him as I opened the door and the clouds in our hot box poured out like water "Oh Adam, f**k me right in the music room!" I shouted chuckling before stepping out of the car and slamming the door behind me. "Oh Adam, f**k me and make me c*m all over the trumpets!" I said intimidating Bella's high pitched voice as best as I can, my voice echoed throughout the student parking lot. My body did a slight jog as Adam stepped out of the car furiously slamming the door behind me "Shut the f**k up!" He said storming after me, He came up from me and put he in a choke hold. I gagged out a laugh as I gripped onto his upper arm. He tightened his arm making me gasp for air "Considering that you love to choke women during s*x made me think you were used to it" he said whispering into my ear chuckling" I tapped onto his arm  and he pushed me away chuckling "F-f**k you" I said gripping onto my throat, I smirked as he held up his middle finger. He brushed passed me and turned around and began to walk backwards "The thing is Nile Cale, Bella wants me she is constantly trying to get my attention with all these detention slips okay? In her eyes they are 'f**k me slips'" He c****d a grin as we started to walk through the parked rows of student cars "Bella, is real easy. Give her a single compliment and she'll fall head over heels. The amount of stupid matches her pretty so I'm not too worried about her getting latched onto me" Adam said as he was bending down and looking at his reflection is some car window. As he straightened himself back up we were met with a pair of blue eyes. s**t. She has eyes like the sky which were blue and innocent. And like the sky, they would turn into lightning storms with pouring rain and roaring thunder. Her face drained of the glow happiness brought to her life. Bella stood there clenching onto a box with both hands, she stood at the side of her car staring at the both of us with glistening eyes. Immediately I turned to Adam hoping he would say the right thing, because knowing him he would do anything to hide his feelings. He took a deep sigh while his apple danced up and down his throat, he opened his mouth and I looked away knowing nothing good was going to come out of it "The f**k you looking at. You should consider that a compliment" he spat, I winced at his words knowing he didn't mean a single word of it, but the pain that radiated off of Bella's face made me feel for her. She turned her heel and walked off before a tear appeared on her face. Both me and Adam watch her storm off silently without saying another word to each other. After a while at just staring at the endless rows of cars he finally turned to me leaning against a car laughing "This is why I can't tell her I love her, because I don't even think I do" his laugh covered up whatever he was trying to hide. I didn't pry into that mind of his, I just stood there with him not saying anything. Sometimes silence is the best kind of comfort.
