The Ivory Tower

I looked at my class schedule as we waited for the receptionist to print out my housing assignment. “I’m sorry this seems to be taking longer than necessary. It was right here earlier and then my computer crashed.” I felt bad for the woman she looked like she was overworked and hadn’t had a decent night’s sleep in years. “No problem, Miss Bailey.” Hana shot the woman a smile and I continued to look at my schedule. There were horseback riding lessons, tea ceremony, and a few other bougie courses that just seemed to fill empty space in the curriculum. “Oh you have diplomatic relations with me that’s awesome!” I was less than thrilled with the lessons. “Girls, why don’t you go get your uniforms and books for your classes? I will send someone to find you when I get Olivia’s housing figured out.” Hana looked worried and I felt her nervous energy. “That will not be necessary Miss Bailey, Miss Reynolds will be housed in the Ivory Tower.” I glanced at the man that just walked in and my jaw dropped. He looked like a real-life version of an anime character. He glanced at me and adjusted his glasses. Hana gave a startled squeak and hid behind me. “Miss Park, are we still playing this game?” He even had the cool stoic voice of those nerdy glasses-wearing types. I decided I liked him; he could be fun even if he was looking at me as if I were a bug on the bottom of his shoe. I snapped my fingers and had an A-ha moment. The guy looked at me as if I lost my mind, and I was pretty sure I have. I don’t like to let on that I am an anime junky because most people thought you were a weirdo. “Kyoya Ootori, that is who you remind me of.” He tilted his head and c****d an eyebrow at me. “Out of all the characters you could have chosen you choose one from that anime. I don’t know whether I am disappointed or somewhat flattered.” He smiled and I knew I had made a new friend. I was going to have to ask Hana why she was hiding behind me and shaking like a scared Chihuahua. He seemed fine. “Are you sure Sebastian? I am pretty certain that she was housed in the Worthington Hall dorms with Miss Park.” I glanced over my shoulder at Miss Bailey and she was a twitchy scared mess as well. “I just relay the orders madam, Miss Reynolds if you would follow me. We shall get you settled into your new quarters. Miss Park, you are free to join us.” He actually bowed to the receptionist and I was more than happy to follow him anywhere. He looked amazing in his uniform and it clung to his muscled body nicely. I was practically skipping along like a happy puppy. Maybe this school wouldn’t be so horrible after all. “Sebastian sir, can you excuse us for a moment.” I scowled at Hana and she dragged me into the girl's bathroom. Turning the water on she looked in all the stalls to make sure we were alone and then turned on me. “Are you crazy? How can you just happily follow that psychopath?” I frowned at her. “What do you mean? He seems decent enough.” She put her hand on her forehead and I saw the look of disgust written there. “You have no sense of self-preservation, do you?” I crossed my arms over my chest because I still wasn’t getting it. “Obviously I don’t. Enlighten me please because this dancing around the subject is slightly annoying.” She sighed and shook her head. “You know the Alpha’s sons seem to have targeted you.” I frowned at her, she had to ruin my good mood by bringing up those assholes. “It would seem so. What does that have to do with Sebastian?” She threw her hands up and let out a groan. “Sebastian is their beta. He is the enforcer for the Elites and does their dirty work, if they are sending you with him it can’t be good.” That sobered me up a little bit, but I was still blinded by my hot anime guy lust. “So I just have to be careful around him.” She looked at me sadly and turned off the water. She must have figured I was a lost cause. “You are going to the Ivory Tower, that is where the Alpha’s sons live. You are going right into the jaws of the wolf.” I let out a curse and she rolled her eyes as it finally clicked into place. “I will just stay at home or get my housing arrangements changed.” The door burst open and Sebastian had a hand over his eyes as he came in. “If you ladies are done talking about me, please follow me to the Ivory Tower. Also Miss Park is biased in her opinion of me.” We followed him out and Hana tried to make herself small. “Why is that?” I had to know; I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to like the answer. I was certain Hana wasn’t going to elaborate on why she had a fear of him. He turned on me and pinned me against the wall. His arms caged me in and I was nose to nose with him and drowning in the scent of his cologne. WELL ALL RIGHT! NOW THIS IS WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT! He moved in closer, a smirk on his lips as if he could hear my thoughts. Who knew, who cared I was in fan girl heaven right now and my body was all for it while my brain was checked out. “Because I was the one that caught her during the Freshman Hunt and she didn’t like how I played with her.” He buried his nose in my neck and my brain fizzled out. Hana stared at me horrified as I just let this random guy sniff me. I should have been concerned about the words Freshman Hunt but nothing mattered as I felt his warm breath on my collarbone. “Sebastian! Enough, this one isn’t for you.” I blinked and saw a girl who looked like she walked out of Assassin’s Daily. She managed to have a lot of leather on along with her uniform. “You look like Li Luo from Ice Fantasy!” She frowned and I felt Sebastian’s body shake with laughter. “Oh for crying out loud another one? Why can’t they find normal ones?” She turned on her heel and walked away. Sebastian stared at me and he had the most gorgeous green eyes I have ever seen. “I think you and I are going to be good friends.” Hana cleared her throat and looked at me then Sebastian. “She seems to be safe with you I need to get going.” I frowned and watched Hana hurry off. “Don’t worry about her. She still likes you. It’s me she hates.” He extended his hand and I took it as we followed after the girl. I couldn’t help but feel like I was dancing with the devil and while he was definitely a sexy devil, this was probably not going to end well for me. Maybe Hana had a point, I didn’t seem to have any sense of self-preservation. Because I was more than likely walking right into the lion's den.
