I walked into the family dining area and sat down. Peace and quiet for once. I had grabbed my food from the dining room. So many people asking me questions and trying to pat my head.
“Joshua Greyback!” I heard as my mom entered.
“What did I do now?” I groaned.
“Why am I getting call after call that you’re trying to make Henry crazy?” She stuck her hand on her hip.
“What the h*ll!? Who said that?” I asked and she sat next to me.
“Well let’s see, your uncles, your aunt Madison and Hermia, Andy said he came to him complaining you were holding Daisy’s hand?” She stared at me.
“Come on mom, he’s been harassing her to go out with him. You should’ve seen the weird hug he gave her. I thought he was going to mark her right then and there. It gave me the creeps!” I said. Mom looked at me puzzled.
“Harassing her?” She asked.
“Yeah, uncle Dec asked me to make sure they’re never alone together because I guess the harassing can get pretty heated.” I started eating.
“Huh, you don’t say.” My moms face looked worried.
“What?” I asked her.
“It’s nothing. Your uncle James used to get a little erratic when things didn’t happen the way he wanted.” She said looking worried still.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“Nothing, don’t tell anyone I told you that. Your father would be upset.” My mom stood up. “I’ll ask your aunt Maddie. I’m going over to meet Riley finally!” My mom seemed excited. “Oh, if she really is being harassed. Don’t leave her alone with him.” She said as she made her way to the exit. Daisy came in and almost bumped into her.
“Oh! Your majesty, I’m so sorry.” She said.
“Please, aunt Hannah. No need to be so formal.” My mom pat her arm and walked out.
“There you are Joshy! I’ve been looking everywhere for you.” Daisy ran over taking the seat right next to mine.
“You know there’s seats all over the place around here.” I said as I continued to eat.
“Why can’t I sit here? You sat next to me at breakfast.” Daisy said.
“You have a small family table that was filled with family. Mines a giant empty table filled with no one. You could sit anywhere.” I said taking another bite.
“It’s like you’re scared to be near me Josh. Are you scared I’m going to kiss you again?” She said lowly as she stared at me. I choked and coughed.
“Stop. You’re not funny.” I said sighing. I really just wanted some peace and quiet. Suddenly I felt her grab my thigh. I jumped up and she started laughing hysterically.
“You looked like you’ve seen a spider!” She laughed.
“I’m getting annoyed with your teasing.” I said walking to the door.
“Where are you going?” I heard Daisy get up.
“To my room.” I said walking out and to the stairs. I turned. “You’re following me again.” I stated the obvious.
“Of course!” She smiled and I turned back. I saw Andy and Lydia talking once we got to the top of the stairs.
“Hey guys!” Andy called to us.
“Liddie!” Daisy squealed and hugged her.
“Hey Daisy, Why are you hanging around Josh?” Lydia said looking at us oddly.
“Because he gets so uncomfortable, it’s hilarious.” Daisy said and I crossed my arms.
“Yes we heard you both were holding hands today.” Andy said.
“From who?” Daisy asked still smiling.
“From Henry, my mom has been getting calls about how we made Henry crazy.” I said.
“Yes he was very upset with Josh. Thought he was trying to claim you.” Andy said.
“Are you trying to claim me Joshy?” Daisy said putting her arms around my arm and smiling.
“I didn’t claim anyone.” I said annoyed.
“Look at how uncomfortable he is.” Daisy giggled. “It’s more fun then pinning you to the ground until you cried.” Daisy smirked.
“We only have like twenty minutes until we have to get back. I just want to go relax.” I said.
“Fine let’s go relax.” Daisy said and Lydia looked at her.
“I think he wants to be alone.” Lydia said.
“Why don’t we all get lunch?” Andy asked breaking the weird tension building between Daisy and Lydia.
“I ate, kinda.” I said.
“Come on Lydia. You said you were hungry.” Andy held out his arm and she took it.
“I’m telling mom you were hanging in your room again!” Lydia called and I sighed.
“No use saying no now, she’s already tattled on us.” Daisy grabbed my hand and pulled me to my room.
“Why are you following me and bugging me where ever I go?” I asked as she opened the door.
“Because this is the most fun I’ve had in a long time.” She said and we walked in. I walked over and plopped onto the bed rolling over and staring at the ceiling. I felt the bed move.
“You’re not going to sit in the chair?” I asked her.
“No.” She said as she laid her head on my chest and snuggled up to me.
“Oh come on. There’s a perfectly good pillow there.” I said grabbing it as she wrapped her arm around me.
“No I’m comfortable like this.” She said.
“I don’t know what your game is, but I don’t really like it.” I said slightly pushing her.
“Stop it! It’s just a innocent friend cuddle.” She said getting comfortable again.
“I’ve never heard of a innocent friend cuddle.” I said.
“You didn’t have girlfriends or girls that liked you at Eclipse?” Daisy asked.
“No. Most girls were just interested because my title. So I ignored them.” I said closing my eyes. I felt Daisy move and thought maybe she had gotten tired of the game she was playing. Then I felt her hand on my face and I opened my eyes. Just in time for her to place her lips on mine. I pushed her off of me.
“Kiss me Josh!” She demanded as I sat up.
“What’s wrong with you?” I asked startled, but she grabbed my shirt pulling me to her kissing me again. She pulled away and looked at me angry.
“Kiss me back!” She yelled as I stared at her in shock. I lunged forward kissing her and soon our tongues met. I pulled her closer too me and she leaned against me. I suddenly pushed her off and stood up.
“What…?” Daisy said as I stood there in almost shock.
“W-we have to get back.” I said as I walked to the door. I opened it and hurried down the stairs wiping my mouth.
“Josh!” She ran after me.
“We’re going to be late.” I said almost robotic with nothing but fear griping me to life.
“Was it bad?” She asked trying to grab my hand.
“No.” I said as I walked to my dads office.
“Josh we are like ten minutes early.” Daisy touched my back. I jumped back and put my hands up. “Oh my goddess, what is wrong with you!?” She said getting upset.
“Nothing is wrong. Everything is weird now.” I said sighing.
“Everything is weird!?” She scoffed and nodded. She turned and started walking to the pack house doors. I watched her go out and slam them.
“Trouble in paradise Joshy?” I heard and jumped. I looked back at my dad.
“Nothing happen!” I said and he laughed. He pulled out a handkerchief and handed it to me.
“Clean her lipstick off your lips and we won’t tell anyone. Our secret okay?” Dad smiled as I wiped my face.
