Clara's Pov
I was speechless to his question. Was there any rule for it before I can access the remote or, is he just trying to play the big brother thing right now?
"Sorry, no one told me there was a rule before I handle the remote." I said, a little less reluctant.
"No one has to tell you, you just have to figure it out yourself. Now, give it to me." He demanded.
"And why should I do that?" I questioned. "After all, you and your brothers snatched it from me at first, and all of a sudden no one is watching television any more. Now, you wanna claim the remote like you're some kinda..." I scanned him from head to toe, "What exactly? A god?"
"You know, you don't have to stress yourself trying to explain what a person is. You just have to pretend like you didn't notice any thing."
"And you should have pretended like you didn't see me either. Well, I ain't interested in exchanging unnecessary conversations with you, as you can see, I'm a little busy right now." I said, sitting back comfortably on the couch, not minding if he was still staring at me or not.
When I turned back to look, he was gone. I smiled in victory. Some times, you just have to show them a peak of stubbornness so they won't have to take you for granted. While I was watching, my maid came to me with a tray of orange juice and a plate of biscuits.
"Wow!" I exclaimed excitedly. "Just what I've been craving for."
"Miss Bradenton," She called my name in her thin voice. "There's some thing I wanna talk to you about. Though you might not like it, but I think it's for your own good."
"Okay. I'm listening." I said, giving her a listening ear.
"It's concerning the crown princes and you."
"What about us?"
"I've served the royal families for almost five years now, and I can tell you the little I know about them. You must have noticed how cold Crown Prince Adrien and his brothers are, it has been their nature for a long time now. And I know you're only trying to stand in your right, but some times, playing tough isn't the best option. I won't tell you not to trust Adrien nor his brothers, but you've got to know their quietness is just the deadly part of them."
"So, you're trying to say?"
"I saw what happened a few minutes ago, and I must warn you, if you don't want to feel uncomfortable around any of the brothers," She came closer to whisper the rest of the words to me, "then you've got to avoid them getting on their nerves."
I was about to ask her a question when I realized she was gone. I sighed heavily, I'm so grateful she had told me that. I'll take my chances whenever I come across them, and I will try my best to stay clear away from them by all means.
But I was beginning to wonder why the crown princes would be this rude. I've seen them clearly enough, and I'll admit Adrien's beauty was beyond mere imaginations. Though Gerek had a fine beauty, he wasn't a match to Adrien and Kelvin especially.
At the dining hall, a part of me felt excited to have such captivating men as my brothers, but after the incident, it all changed. I still admire Adrien, I'll admit, but only that his temper needs to be worked on.
Alpha Darius returned earlier than expected. He called the crown princes, requesting that he wanted to have a brief meeting with us. They all went to the royal quarter for the meeting, while mom and I showed up a minute later.
I noticed the unpleasant expression on their faces as soon as they saw me. They weren't expecting me to show up. They didn't want me in the first place. Because I am a girl, they feel I don't fit in their circles.
"What's she doing here?" Kelvin questioned his father. "She shouldn't be here?"
"She should." Alpha Darius simply said. "As long as she is part of the family, she has every right to be here."
"She's just a girl, father, a weak omega for crying out loud." Adrien blurted. "Can't we have some one else to call a sister rather than... this thing?"
"Thing?" I spat. "Is that all you can call me?"
"Clara calm down, Clara. That's enough." Mom touched my hand. How did they know I am an omega? How did they sense it? I must have forgotten, they are alpha princes, yet to be true alphas.
I held my temper, throwing Adrien a hard glare. He had the guts to call me a thing? I will never forgive him for that.
"Adrien, this is the last time I wanna hear that word from your mouth. The next time you say it to her, you won't see the good side of me." Alpha Darius warned. "Clara, I really am sorry for the misunderstanding, you don't have to worry anymore."
I nodded my head at him, feeling a bit better.
"So, my reason for calling you all together is to re-talk about the conversation I had with your mother. Since the two of us are finally married, I think we have to take a break outside the state and spend some time together."
I was so excited to hear that. I couldn't hold myself from screaming, so I ended up hugging mom. "Oh my gosh! Mom, I'm so happy for you!"
She was smiling, I could see how excited she was. To finally be with a man who appreciated her for what and whom she is. Though mom wasn't a full wolf, but she does have a few abilities of a wolf. Even at that, Alpha Darius accepted her as his Luna.
"Thank you, Clara."
"So, our vacation will be for two weeks, but we'll be back as soon as possible." He paused, staring at our faces. "I know you guys aren't quite familiar with Clara, but I'm expecting you all to get along before we get back to the state. It's inappropriate to have siblings who don't love and care for each other." He warned.
Adrien chuckled. "Love? Care?" He scoffed.
"Father, you know that's impossible. How do you expect us to fit in with her just after two days of meeting her?" Kelvin blurted.
"I believe two days is more than enough to get along with her, but because you all have decided to act mute and less concerned, you still don't find her welcoming." I never knew Alpha Darius noticed what happened that night. I mean, I expected him to, but I definitely wasn't expecting him to talk about it.
He turns his gaze to me. "Clara, you're the only daughter I have, be careful." I nodded my head.
"I will, father. You should take care of yourself too, and take care of my mom." I said, squeezing her palm in mine.
He smiled softly at me. "You don't have to worry about her, she's in safe hands."
I looked at mom, smiling with tears of joy streaming down my eyes. After all, the Moon goddess never disappoints. On the other hand, as much as I wanted this vacation to hold, I felt scared for so many reasons I wish I could tell.
Some how, I feel like this vacation is gonna create a lot of problems for me. Speaking of my step brothers who hated me like I'm a she-devil, I wonder how life is gonna be like being stuck in a big mansion with all five of them and just me alone.
