Chapter Nine- Michael's POV

1465 Words
Seeing Ariel throw that woman across the room made me feel both concerned and prideful. She was a sight to behold, her blue eyes turned golden and her aura seeped power. I could tell she was losing control and her anger was consuming her, so I quickly grabbed her and pulled her against me hoping that being close would help calm her.  I was right, her body instantly stopped trembling and she melted against me. I smiled at the effect I had on her. When she turned to me and apologized I smiled, gently letting her know it was not her fault and the teacher would be fine. I actually liked the possessive side of her. She was fierce and a force to be reckoned with. Her strength was beyond measure and her aura gave away just how powerful she was. I was glad my mate was a warrior.  As we walked through the school so I could take her home we ran into Gabriel. Great. He of course followed us. He stayed quiet and never asked what happened. Though I could see the concern in his eyes. He was worried about her. Ariel must have noticed this too because she reached out and grabbed his hand.  As we approached Ariel's home I sensed a powerful presence and instantly pushed Ariel behind me. She looked at me confused "What is it?" I kept my arm firmly around her as Gabriel stepped beside me helping keep her shielded  "Someone is in your house. A very powerful someone." I told her.  Her body became tense and she took off to the house. I instantly was at her heels and she turned abruptly "NO STOP!" She screamed "Do not come in until I tell you to." She demanded as she disappeared through the door and I heard the click of the lock. I turned to Gabriel confused but he just shrugged.  Curious by her behavior I tuned into my heightened hearing and listened closely. "No, you have to leave. Michael is here." I heard her say. My eyes widened at her words: who was she hiding from me? Then a deep male voice responded "You want me to run from that angel?" He asked. "No, not run dad. But They can't find out about you yet, they're not ready." She pleaded with who I now knew was her father. "Fine, but that Angel and wolf better treat you like the queen you are. Don't forget who your mother is, she would be furious if they treated you less than you are, and I, well I would kill them both." He warned before I felt the presence vanish.  Who was this girl's parents? Her father was obviously very powerful and by the sounds of it, so is her mother. I was now very interested in this girl's background and lineage. I heard a deep sigh before the click of the lock as Ariel appeared in the open door. "Alright, you can come in now." She said with a tight smile.  I gave her a hard look, "Who was that?" I asked in a gentle but stern voice.  Her smile fell and her eyes blazed "My father, whom you will not meet." Her tone gave room for no argument so I decided to drop it for now.  "Very well." I said and walked into her home.  I looked around the home hoping to find some evidence of who her father and mother were, but there was nothing. Not any photos, no evidence at all suggesting anyone but Ariel lived here. That by itself made major red flags wave in my head. Why was she hiding her father from us? I knew what I had to do, and I know she wasn't going to like it but it had to be done.  So a plan formed in my mind. Tonight after we left I was going to spy on her. Yes, I know it's deceitful and I was going against her wishes, but I had to know. I couldn't help it. Being alive as long as I have you learn secrets can destroy empires, it can make kingdoms fall. If we were going to be together for the rest of our lives I had to know everything about her.  **** A few hours later we were all saying goodbye. I had learned a lot about here. She was 18 and her birthday was in two weeks, she lived with foster parents since she was ten because her parents didn't have time to raise her but she loved both sets of parents. Her foster parents were killed in a rouge attack, which is why she was now here. I felt sorry for her loss but I am so happy the outcome led her to me.  I waited patiently, hidden by the thick forest that lined Ariel's home. I watched as she shifted into her wolf. She was beautiful, she was as white as snow and had black markings in her fur on both sides of her back in the shape of wings. She was an amazing sight to behold.  When the presence from earlier appeared again, she snapped her head towards her house and yipped in delight. She took off towards the door shifting fully clothed once she reached it and walked in. "Dad, you're home!" she yelled. I heard a chuckle before a **thud** which I'm assuming was Ariel jumping into her father's arms.  "Of course. I told you I'd be able to spend more time with you here." So that's why she moved here, so she could spend more time with her dad. I smiled and shook my head, I could tell she loved him fiercely and with everything she had.  "So how did it go today?" her father asked her. I heard Ariel give a dry laugh  "Well, Gabriel was great. After what happened at school he waited on me hand and foot. Making me laugh more than I ever have." Her father gave a grunt "And the Angel?" He asked.  "Well, Michael is suspicious of me. I don't think he trusts me. I can't blame him, but it still hurts. He spent the day questioning me."  The man roared, he was angry. I felt myself gulp as fear made its way into my chest. "Those damn Angels' never change. Always too curious for their own good. Watch him closely Ariel, he won't give up until he knows your secret. Michael has always had an impulsive need to know everything." How the hell did this man know me? When the back door opened and they both stepped out my eyes bulged. No, it couldn't be. It was Lucifer. Lucifer was her father? It's not possible, Angels' can't have children. "Dad calm down." Ariel said, placing her hand on Lucifer's arm. "Michael is not dangerous. And I will tell him about you. I just need to know him better first, I am so scared he will reject me when he finds out I'm your daughter. I'm not ashamed of you dad, I love you. But by what you told me Angels' can hold a grudge for a very long time."  Lucifer embraced her holding her tightly "I love you too Ariel. Michael has always been a hard ass, but he will accept you no matter what. He has been searching forever for his mate. He will accept you and will eventually accept me."  Ariel nodded, then beamed up at Lucifer. "Want to go for a flight?"  Lucifer smiled "You know I do." He said before spreading his massive black wings. Followed by Ariel who spread identical black wings and they took off into  the sky. I was stunned, she was an Angel and a wolf? How is that even possible? I couldn't move. I was frozen to my spot.  Everything made so much more sense now. Her power, her reluctance to let us know, the wings on her wolves back. Why she was here. Everything clicked into place. But how could she ever think I would reject her? Lucifer wasn't a problem, he was her father. No we didn't exactly see eye to eye in heaven but we were cordial towards each other. I have to find a way to make her see that. But how? I haven't given her any reason to believe it by questioning her. I mentally scolded myself. I have to do better, be better, for Ariel.  That's it, I am going to make it my mission to get her to trust me, to make her believe I would never reject her. She was my soul mate, my heart and soul. I would give my life for hers in a heartbeat. I quickly took my leave, a plan taking root as I made my way home.
