"Vance!" De Vile called. "What are you doing?"
"Going home, obviously." He had a bored look on his face.
"The car is the other way," De Vile muttered darkly. He was so pissed his eyes looked dark red in the night.
Vance didn't give a rat ass s**t how his father felt, after all, De Vile was not the only one having a bad day but he was the reason everyone else was having a bad day. He wished he had been able to wiggle himself out of attending the meeting, he should have known that everything his father involved himself in always ended badly.
"I have my own house, in case you forgot," Vance said and didn't stop walking, he was heading in the gate's direction.
"Are you going to walk there?" His father yelled.
Vance almost turn around to look at him but decided against it. "Don't make it sound like it is a hassle, if I am serious enough I would get home before you."
"I could drop you off," his father pushed.
This time around, Vance turned around to discover his father had followed him all the way out of the car park. He laughed, "You really think I want to be in the same enclosed place as you after what you did?" Vance paused a little and when there was no immediate reply from his father he said, "I am going home. Goodnight."
He turned around and continued on the path towards the gate. This time he could no longer hear his father's footsteps behind him and he didn't bother to check. Less than a minute later the entourage of cars passed him and all he could do was walk behind them.
He was not ready to speed up yet, he would do that when he was outside the gate, for now, he need the walk as he was certain it would clear his head. Heavens knew his thoughts were driving him crazy, thoughts about Selene, thoughts about how this was going to getting better or worse, he needed a breather.
Unfortunately, even with how slow he was walking he got to the gate in no time. He was immediately let out of the gates and as Vance looked around trying to find the shortest path to his house a crazy idea got into his head and he had barely processed the thoughts when his body began to move in the direction of her house.
