The wounds I suffered at the hands of Alex, the Alpha of the shadow pack, were almost healed but I still needed a lot of recuperating to do. I take my time out to eat at the local restaurant in town, Fat Joe Restaurant, for the first time since I stepped into Echo Falls.
As I enjoyed my meal, Shanice snuck up on me out of nowhere and made me choke on my food.
"What have you been doing since you stepped into this town," Shanice said, sitting opposite me and staring at me awkwardly.
I buried my head and continued my meal, "Well I've been surviving a lot. Trust me when I say a lot."
"You fool," she responded with a tut, "have you forgotten your mission?"
"No, I did not," I placed my spoon on the table and faced her, "I am very much aware of why I am here, and very soon, I will be successful."
"You don't have much time, Dylan is already furious about your delayed response. He has not heard from you since you got here."
"Dylan has always been a hothead, he's gonna get over it soon."
"Not this time," she shook her head ominously, "he has decided to take matters into his own hands. He won't wait for slow ass to turn up."
I was disturbed by the words of Shanice. What does she mean by Dylan taking matters into his hands?
"What are you saying?"
"Don't you understand it yet? He is preparing for an all-out war against the shadow pack."
"What? He can't do that, I've got this under control. Tell him to put a hold on every one of his plans."
"When Dylan makes up his mind there is no stopping him except you give him a valid reason to do so. You of all people should know that by now."
"I need to see him as soon as possible, he will ruin all my plans."
"Too late. He has captured the daughter of the Grey Alpha, she sits with the Scoire in the dungeon. She is probably dead by now."
My ears tingled, not believing what I just heard. Beyond Dylan foiling my plans by killing Katrina, he is also going to ruin my chances of finding love after waiting for a long time.
"When did all these happen?"
"Yesterday, he sent Felix and some other strong betas to capture her."
"What does he plan to do with her? Tell me. Will he kill her?" My eyes bulged as I became restless.
Dylan is more than just a maniac, he is a psychopath who kills just for the fun of it.
"Do you even use your brain at all? Try to imagine what he would do to her, death is going to be the least of what he has in mind for her."
I know what Dylan is capable of doing. He is capable of turning up with crazy surprises you would not see coming.
But looking at Shanice, I smelled something was off with her.
"You know something, don't you?"
"I don't understand what you are saying. I know nothing."
"I owe you this one, tell me what Dylan is planning to do to her."
"He plans to make every male member of the pack take their turns with her, and then display her corpse on the border tree between both park's territory. Afterward, he will launch a full attack, first on the shadow pack, and then take out every other pack in the vicinity, bit by bit."
I was terrified at the horrible plans Dylan has made for Kat, it made me uncomfortable.
"I have to meet him now, this is madness."
"Indeed it is, but make sure you don't do anything irrational to make this worse. You might regret it."
In an instant, I took my leave for Bridgewater, the territory of our pack. I prepared myself mentally and physically to face Dylan if by any chance things starts to get messy.
"Dylan! Dylan!" I stormed into the meeting hall, of our hideout.
"Who calls the great and mighty Alpha of all realms." He muffled a giggle.
"Face me you coward! If you have the guts just face me."
Some of his loyal hounds were starting to surround me. Although he was the Alpha, not every member of the pack was loyal to him. Some had different opinions about his actions and his way of reasoning. His list for power and all.
"I am not scared of you, Lucas."
"Then show yourself," I yelled.
There was a brief moment of silence, then I saw his hounds step backward, before I could figure out what was going on, he was already behind me and struck me with his fist as I turned around.
"I will always be your Alpha, let it sink into your head."
I groaned heavily, holding on to my jaw which was starting to bleed. I felt a shift in my soul as he struck me.
"You wanted to see me here I am," he said, signaling to other werewolves in the room to excuse us.
"What have you done to her?"
"To who?"
"Don't try to play smart with me. What have you done to Kat?"
"Ooh, Kat. Is that her name?" he sneered with an awful grin, "she has refused to tell me her name all this while, so I wondered if she had one. Now that you have told me, I will know what to write in my condolence letter to her father and her pack leader."
"You will do nothing of a sort," I stretched out my claws to stab him in the back as he turned around, rather, he held my hand and flung me hard at the wall. I felt a sharp c***k in my spine, too much fight for a weak.
He rammed my shoulder into one of the pillars and my shoulder got dislocated.
"I will always be your Alpha," he said, as he sat over me and threw a series of punches at my face. "I will rule the entire realms, every werewolf shall bow to me."
"You are blinded by power, Dylan, snap out of it," I grunted, holding my temples as I cough out blood.
"You don't tell me what to do!"
He picked me up and thrust his claws deep into my guts.
