Chapter 15

Her fingers on one hand laced into his hair while the other clutched to the back of his neck. Aerly was never one to be gentle, she was always rough and tumble so it wasn't surprising that she behaved the same behind closed doors, though the difficulty this time that she never faced before was that she was with another Alpha fighting against each other for one of them to come out on top. Aggressive growls and clawed flesh while they made a mess of the house. Raiden refused to give up dominance as much as she did. Until finally after slamming into walls Aerly had cornered him onto the sofa and she got herself on top of him. A sly grin on her lips as her hands held his, their fingers laced with one another and somehow on the way to the living room they'd lost some clothes along the way. "Can you feel it?" he whispered just as her lips were centimetres from his own. "What?" she questioned her silver eyes focusing on his baby blues. "The bond..." he lifted one of their joined hands as though an example of how they fit perfectly with one another "it's forming." Aerly growled as though those words had broken some sort of spell as she climbed from his lap "No! This was your plan, wasn't it? You wanted to secure our bond" she snarled pointing an accusing finger at him. "You kissed me" he was quick to defend himself. "Cause of--" Aerly huffed brushing a rough hand through her hair "cause I was stupid enough to fall for you f*****g words." "Hey!" he shouted standing himself up from the lounge, "I said them because I mean it Aerly, of course, I mean it. You're my mate I'm not hiding the fact I want to be with you but you said to wait and I agreed but I'm not going to hide my intentions or how I feel about you. I just wanted--" he sighed "forget it clearly dinner is just too much for us right now." "It was your idea for the dinner which clearly was too much since I have explained my feelings on the matter but you didn't have to try and lure me to embrace this bond" folding her arms over her half-naked body. A simple bra was the only thing covering her torso. "So just forget it. I'll go" he went back into the kitchen following the trail of discarded clothing and picking up the ones belonging to him "just know. I won't fight it and I already told you I wouldn't fight our bond but I didn't come here to lure you into it either though it's good to know that when it comes to us" he glanced at her with the thinnest of smirks "you're just as weak as I am when it comes to us." "I'm not weak! Don't you dare come in here and call me weak!" she growled the mere thought was enough to hurt her pride. "Whatever you want to call it. Just forget dinner" Raiden pulled on his shirt and began walking towards the front door "I'm leaving, Aerly I'm going back home and I'll be taking two of my warriors but don't worry because Niko and the rest stay here to help defend the place" he explained as he stood by the archway of the lounge room "and Aerly I did ask you to dinner to get to know you, yes but I also wanted to give you something" pulling a piece of paper from his pocket he placed it onto the hallway table. "What's that?" Aerly questioned eyeing the paper. "Read it and find out" Raiden made his way to the door "see you around Aerly" he spoke before walking out. An emptiness settled in the pits of her chest as she seemed to remain frozen in place she didn't mean for this to happen and maybe she was as weak as him. She didn't mean to snap but how could she possibly explain the fear she felt but how could she even begin to explain the embarrassment of feeling that way. Aerly remained still for a few more moments before making her way over to the folded up letter as she unfolded it a harsh reality set in on what he had done for her. In his elegant cursive writing was the names of her family and where they were located. She had no information on them what so ever not even their names since her father's trauma from the attack of their old pack he couldn't share any information and Aerly had thought she was on her own but her eyes searched the paper over Raiden had gone out of his way for her to the lengths of finding her family his thoughtfulness made the guilt rise causing an uncomfortable sensation in her chest. With a sigh, Aerly grabbed her shirt and pulled it on before making her way out of the cabin but it was too late the large black vehicle was pulling away. She noticed her father and brother clearly there to see the pureblood Alpha and if she wasn't as stupid she could have had a far more civil farewell she thought to herself and cursed her pride and stubborn nature but perhaps space was what was needed. Things between them seemed to go from zero to sixty in a matter of minutes and she wasn't lying when saying she wasn't ready so Aerly had to let it go for now and do what she does best and somehow compartmentalize these emotions. "Father!" she called finally getting out of her own thoughts. "Aerly?" William questioned. His gaze set on his daughter clearly wondering why the Alpha had left so suddenly but obviously wasn't going to press the matter "is everything alright?" he asked seeing to notice her distress. "I'm fine" she spoke as she approached her father and brother. The cabin may have been on the edge of the property but didn't sit too far from her families. "Are you sure?" William asked as he seemed to look her over. The usually so confident and tough young woman was oddly nervous and out of sorts. "Yes but we need to talk..."
