Chapter 9. The discussion... what do we do now?

Lily POV

I’m back to sitting on the rock with him still standing in front of me. He is just, Oh good Goddess I can’t believe this sexy ass man is my mate. I really can’t believe how hurt he looked, I thought he would have rejected me by now. Slowly, I meet his gaze and his eyes are flickering between his normal blue and bright gold, meaning his wolf is trying to surface. As I look at him now it’s almost like the color of slight gold from his normal eyes, just a bit brighter. So for some reason, that thought calms me. He slowly starts coming closer, hoping I won’t run away, and this time I won’t. Noticing this, makes him smile as he comes to sit next to me. “You are so beautiful.” He blurts out as his cheeks turn bright red and I giggle. I don’t think he expected that to pop out of his mouth, but I’m happy it did. I turn to face him and put out my hand, being very uncharacteristically bold and say “as this is our first time meeting for an actual conversation. Hi my name is Lily, you’re pretty handsome yourself Alpha.” He gets that irritated look on his face again. “You are my mate, my Luna, my equal, please call me Jamie.” I stare at him for a moment. That is something that only the high ranks are allowed to call him, and even in this situation I feel panicked. What if it’s a trap to get me to use that name so he can punish me. That is something my mom has done in the past, and since she loves me, that’s how loved ones behave right? He looks at me for a response and I just nod my head. I will have to figure this all out later, when I can think straight. I look at him “I’ve been dreaming for this day my whole life, and now that it’s here, I just don’t know what to say.” He goes to take my hand and I flinch. He looks sad, wondering why I’m borderline terrified of this moment. He goes to take my hand, this time not stoping at the flinch and holds it tight. “I’ve been waiting for this my whole life too. I’ve never given up hope that I would find you. Though yesterday did give me pause.” He chuckles and looks up from our hands looking into my eyes. “I only chose Rachel yesterday because I had too. I regret it but I didn’t have a choice. I hope you know that or at least that you let me show you that. My wolf was going crazy, he made me agree to not mark her until the day of the Luna ceremony to give us more time. I think he could somehow feel it, that you were close to us but didn’t understand why. Also I now understand why I’ve always had a pull towards you.” He looks sheepishly at me at that point, and closes his eyes. He looks so sweet and caring and kind. Wait! What did he just say! “Wait you noticed me? Like before this?” I have this look of utter flabbergasted confusion on my face. He turns to me shyly, and omg he’s so handsome. “Yea, I’ve kind of always thought you were really cute, I just never thought you’d give me the time of day. I knew you were waiting for your mate, I was too. I wanted to respect that.” I sat there stunned for a moment. “Would you be my mate and Luna, Miss Lily Jacobs do you accept me as your mate?” I never expected those words to ever be uttered and I’m still living in shock. I mean this is a nice moment but this is the rest of our lives we are talking about. “Yes.” Wait what did I just say! I look at him and he has the biggest megawatt smile I have ever seen. “I promise you won’t regret this.” With that he leans forward to kiss me and the sparks ignite. Wow… I have never felt this before and I can’t ever image how I’ve lived this long without his touch. As of this moment I never want to be without it again. It’s like my soul has merged with his and I will be forever changed, forever his. He leans back and looks at me breaking the kiss. I’m still in shock when he gives me a did you just hear me look. I shake my head and he chuckles as he respects himself. “Can we shift? Jaxson, well more commonly Jax, he’s really anxious to meet his mate too. Would that be ok?” I look at him with this deer in headlights look and Lexi is internally glaring at me. Yes, yes we can. I want to meet my mate, as she tries to take control. “No, I’m sorry J.... Jamie.” God now I’m stuttering. “Can we run together another time?” Lexi is giving me the what the hell look in my head as I say to her. Look, we decided to keep your form a secret for now. I don’t know if he can be trusted. Lily he can be. If that wasn’t the case he wouldn’t be our mate. He is the one person we CAN trust. Are you sure about this Lexi? 150% Lily! Please let me be with Jaxson. It’s then that I just notice my mate has been naked this whole time. A blush creeps on my checks. “On second thought Jamie, yes, let’s run.” I turn to him and he gives me that gorgeous smile again before I go to the trees to strip. Which in turn earns a chuckle from him before he shifts and turns around. I strip and shift as fast as I can and then go up to him and nuzzle his neck. He immediately freezes at the contact before doing the same to me. I think we surprised him Lily. Hahaha. He turns to look at our form and freezes again... this time I’m nervous. He looks at me and through our mind link. Wow Lexi you’re amazing. Then Jax says something that shocks me to my core. Lexi, your mark! You are a blessed wolf!
