Chapter 7. I’m What!

This will be a switching POV chapter between Jamie and Lily

ALPHA JAMES “Jamie” POV

I wake up and it’s nice, I’ve never slept in bed with someone else in bed before and I could very much get used to it. The feeling is so nice and well… lovely. I’m definitely not in love yet since this basically a modified arranged marriage but I feel with her I may get there. She is still sleeping softly beside me all wrapped and tangled in the blankets of the bed. I give her one last look before I kiss her gently on her forehead and get up and to the bathroom. I hop in the shower and do my morning routine when I hear the door open and see Rachel walking towards me completely naked. “Can I join you Alpha James” she looks at me with lust filled eyes and I instantly harden. “Sure Rachel, and you’re my mate please call me Jamie.” Its been my nick name since I was a child by my parents . The only other people that call me that are my closest friends. Andy and Nate and of course Andy’s mate, Ruby. They are my Beta and Gamma but we are all also extremely close, like brothers. I was so happy when Andrew (Andy) met his mate Ruby. They are the same age so they were able to meet in high school. Ruby is a spit fire at times but has a heart of gold. I’m so glad that she is with Andy. They work really well together, though neither of them have an easy time making decisions. LOL. He’s a fantastic Beta but ask either of them “what do you want to do? Or “Where do you want to eat?” It’s gonna take time. They are the best! I really always hoped that I would have that kind of love. She gets in and starts to kiss me. I pull her close and kiss her back and pin her to the shower wall. “Rachel, as much as I would love this right now, I have to go to my office for a bit. My father needs to see me ASAP to go over some pressing issues now that I’m Alpha. Can we continue this later today?” She looks at me with a sigh. “Yea that’s fine Jamie. I’ll be here, I have to see your mom to start planning my Luna ceremony anyway.” She pecks me on the cheek and I step out of the shower while she starts hers. I go get dressed and head to the office. Its only 2 doors down from my bedroom and still on the Alpha floor of the pack house. I get there and link my father that I am here to start the meeting and he replies he will be there in a minute or 2. I sit down and start looking over the papers in front of me andI have a feeling it’s going to be a very long day.

Lily POV.

“Lily where the h**l are you, you insolent child, hurry up.” I hear my mom yell from downstairs and I look at the clock “Oh my goddess I overslept, f***” . I quickly get up and grab the clothes nearest to me and run like hell to the kitchen. There, I find my mother waiting for me, oh joy. “Good morning mom” I say and she gives me a deathly glare. “First of all, I have to make my own coffee and secondly you are LATE. Do you know how that will look to the new Alpha and Luna? I can’t believe you would do this to me. You’re making me look like the worst mother and I will not tolerate it. No school for a week even if all of your tasks are done. It’s not like you need an education to scrub a toilet anyway. I still can’t believe I have an Omega as a daughter.” I stand there stunned for a moment before I put my head down. “Yes Mother. I’m very sorry I will head to the pack house right now. I’m very sorry I’m late, it will not happen again.” I head to the door and slowly walk to the pack house, never looking back. It’s not like I expected her to make a big deal about my birthday, but I thought she would at least ask how my shift went. Whatever, I’ve given up on having caring parents long ago, but it still hurts. I being ever the optimist, still had hope. I still have hope for my mate too. MATE... oh goddess how did I forget. I run the rest of the way to the pack house and inside, right to the cleaning closet. I look for my supplies and as luck would have it, I’m to clean the Alpha floor today then the guest floor before dinner. I grab my buckets and mop and head to the stairs juggling it all. As I get closer and closer the scent is ever increasing and it’s glorious. I follow it all the way to the Alpha’s office. Thank god I have to clean it today. I put my head up to knock on the door and it opens revealing a very frantic looking Alpha James. And then as our eyes meet we both say the words. The words that terrify and thrill me at the same time. MATE!
