Camila's POV
"Hey Camila, wanna head to class?" Selena asked me. "Sure, what do we have?" I asked. "History," she replied, and with that we went.
Vanessa was supposed to be in our class too, but I hadn't seen her yet that day. She was probably with the other girls from the group.
Even though I had only just started coming to school, I really thought that maybe I could make friends. Not like in the tunnels with the rats like I used to, but actual friends.
Thankfully, my tunnel days with Lauren were behind the both of us, since we met Bryce. If it weren't for him, we would've never have been able to come to school.
Although, I really hated what he made us do. And I was only twelve when this started. He didn't even ease Lauren and I into this, yet how could you ease someone into being a prostitute?
"Camila, are you okay? Earth to Camila?" Selena asked slowly while waving a hand in my face.
I jumped. "What? What happened?" I asked nervously. "Nothing, I was just asking you what you did last night, but you weren't answering," Selena said.
"Oh, okay, um, well last night I did homework," I told her. That was true, but I wasn't going to tell her about the other thing. I didn't want anyone to know about that.
"That's it? It was the first day back at school, you didn't celebrate at all?" she asked. I shook my head.
"You know, we should do something together one day," she said. "Okay, sure," I replied
"Class, please take your seats," a strict looking woman came into the class. We then began history class.
Selena's POV
Ms. Dorothy came into the class. That was just great, we had the best teacher in school.
By the way, that was sarcasm.
I couldn't help but look at Camila, who sat next to me in this class, too. I couldn't help but marvel at her beautiful and silky brown hair, and her body that was absolutely perfect.
During the class, Camila wrote some things in her agenda, and I watched. Of the things I could see, she was writing poetry, and Camila was an excellent writer.
Towards the end of the class, Ms. Dorothy caught everyone's attention. "This semester, you will have a huge assignment. With a partner, you will pick a moment in history, and present something to the class about it. Maybe a slide show, or a video, or you can sing a song, or whatever you may like," she told us all.
"Camila, do you want to be together?" I asked. "Sure," she said. I smiled at this, then the bell rang.
I went to my locker with Camila to get my gym clothes, because we had gym next.
"Oh, we need gym clothes?" Camila asked shyly. "Yes, of course," I told her. She seemed to have forgotten hers.
"You could use mine," I told her. She smiled, which made me smile, too.
Honestly, I really liked Camila. Maybe I even had a crush on her, although I couldn't tell that to anybody. If anyone found out, Miley would find out, and I'd loose all of my friends for sure. I'd end up worse than Ally, Normani, and Dinah.
Demi then came to her locker, which was right next to mine. "Hey," we said to each other. Miley and Ashley then came, too. "See you girls at lunch," I said once I realized that I had to get to gym. "Come on Camila," I said, and she followed me to the gym.
Once everyone was changed and I the gym, the teacher put the guys on one side of the gym, and the girls on the other.
"Volleyball is what we will be playing starting now," the teacher declared, then paired me in a group with Camila, Vanessa, and Dinah. Vanessa was clearly not happy about this.
"That girl is so annoying. Why does she even go here?" Vanessa whispered to me as we got into our groups. "Just be nice to Dinah. I don't want to get suspended for bullying people again," I replied, remembering how the year before when Ashley, Miley, Vanessa, Demi, and I were suspended for bullying those exact girls.
Demi and I had learned our lesson, but for some reason Ashley, Miley, and Vanessa just really hated these girls.
"I was talking about Camila. I swear I heard that her and her sister are whores," Vanessa whispered. "Shut up," I said and walked away.
Not in a million years would I listen to someone gossiping about Camila.
