Lauren's POV
School was so pointless. I knew I would never need it. What was the point of knowing what algebra was?
This was my main thought throughout math class. We didn't get to pick our seats, so I sat next to Normani.
Normani seemed actually nice, but I didn't talk to her at all. If Miley was actually going to be considered one of my friends, talking to this girl would not be ideal.
Lunch rolled around after seemingly forever. I went to the cafeteria with Demi and Miley to meet Ashley, Vanessa, Selena, and Camz.
I sat next to my sister throughout all of lunch. She seemed happy. She was laughing and smiling and trying to fit in, which is something I hadn't seen in an extremely long time. I decided not to jeopardize Camz's happiness with the fact that I really hated these girls with my whole heart.
After we all finished eating, Ashley suggested that we go on the outside grounds of the campus. It was a nice day, so everyone else agreed.
Once outside, everyone started taking pictures with their cell phones, except for Camz and I since of course we didn't have the luxury of cell phones.
Everyone had a good time, however I sat in the grass by a shady tree and watched them. I had too much on my mind to have fun.
I had to think about how the rent needed to be payed in a few days, and even though Bryce payed for some of it, we were still short. I certainly couldn't ask Bryce for another loan, and there was only one way to get more money.
Oscar. He was our usual client. Sometimes, I would go there alone, and he payed for the rest of the rent. In return, he did horrible things to me that I hated more than anything else.
Yet I would have to go back to his house that night. Maybe I could even convince him that we needed a little extra then we did, and I could save it for a rainy day.
This was going to take a lot of work.
Demi's POV
I was taking some selfies with Selena and Ashley when the warning bell rang. We all went to the big tree where we had left our bags to get them. Lauren was sitting with them, alone, deep in her own thoughts.
"Hey, Lauren, are you ready to have English again?" I asked her. "What? Oh yeah, sure," she replied in a daze.
Deciding to ignore this, I walked to class with her and Miley. Miley and I were talking about what we were doing after school, while Lauren kept quiet. I felt like asking her about it, but I guessed that she didn't want to talk at all.
Before anything else could happen, Niall and Zayn started to walk towards us. I began to completely freeze up.
Niall Horan was walking towards me.
He was so cute and sweet and he moved here from Ireland years ago but he still had his accent and it was so adorable!
My heart was going a thousand miles a minute, and lets just say I felt like I needed to sit down.
"Dem, what's wrong? You look like you're going to faint," Miley said. Niall then walked into the class with Zayn. "Nothing, I'm okay, it's all good," I said as we entered the class, too.
As I walked to my desk, I tripped on Normani's desk. "You b***h," Miley muttered to Normani since she was sitting there. She rolled her eyes.
"You okay?" Niall asked as he turned towards me. He bent down and helped me up to my feet. "I'm okay," I replied with a smile.
Lauren's POV
Jealousy was written all over Miley's face as Niall helped her up. I still didn't really care as I sat down at my desk and took out my books.
Class started within a few minutes. I practically fell asleep at how boring it was, yet I managed to stay awake so that I wouldn't get detention.
As soon as class ended, I rushed to my locker. I then went to Camz's locker and waited for her.
My sister hurried up once I got there and came with me to the car. I drove off quickly towards home.
"Lauren, are you okay? You haven't said a word all day," Camz said worriedly to me once we were almost home.
"Yeah I'm okay, I've just got to go out tonight, will you be okay on your own?" I asked her. "Can't I come with you?" Camz asked. "No, stay home. Do your homework," I replied.
We then got home. We both did our homework in silence for a while until I decided to make us a little dinner.
Once we finished that I got ready to leave, and went to Oscar's house. He was home, which was a good yet bad sign.
Nervously, I went up to his door and knocked on it. I always hated what came next.
