Trouble on pack ground

Tylers POV

It's just one thing after the other. Since the fake fire alarm, the pack can not catch a break. Exploding water lines, random wind storms destroying crops and gardens, and the hospitals are filled with children who have caught a weird cold which normally wouldn't effect our kind so much. Even tho they don't have their wolves yet most pups just run slight fevers, never anything bad enough to be hospitalized for. The doctors are clueless as to what it is but each pup seems to clear up after a week.

My pack is growing more and more concerned with all theses weird happenings how are we suppose to abandon our lands for the warrior games in just two days.

I'm practicing at the training grounds mulling over all of this for thr 100th time when Mike approaches me.

"Hey Ty I need to talk to you man."

"What's up Mike."

"Bro I don't want to upset you but you need to know this, just don't shoot the messanger. Rumor around the pack is that all of theses strange happenings, the fakr fire, the library, the children, its all being suggested to be the fault of one person.... Vicki."

I drop my throwing stars, whip aroundand I am fuming with rage. How the hell is my pack going to blame my mate for this s**t when she spends all day locked in her room?

"You better explain yourself and fast." I say through gritted teeth.

"They don't have any proof ofcourse, It started out with the elder members of the pack gossiping, saying they haven't seen this much drama since the late mad Alpha of their youth. But as things continue to happen more and more pack members of all ages are beginning to wonder. Here is this new and strange woman on our land that likes to hid from 'her people' and now all theses things are happening. It's just odd and easy to draw the connect since they don't know anything about her. Maybe if she had spent some time with them they wouldn't have though this way but Ty you can't blame them for being concerned about the pack especially when children are now involved."

"But even with her privacy how could anyone blame their Luna for the events that are unfolding. Sure they don't know her but they are still her pack and we all know the feelings we all have for our 'family'"

"But thats just it Ty, shes not family, not yet. She hasn't taken her oath, so she has no true loyalty to us... Or to you."

"I can't believe this, you would all have me force her into a roll shes not ready for just for your own comfort, is that it?"

"No, Tyler its not like that man. They are just scared. In times of crisis it is the Luna a pack looks too for comfort, and though your mom is doing a wonderful job there, shes not the Luna anymore. They just can't understand why she can't even try to show some concern or even her face for that matter."

I am at a complete lose. How do I help my pack find comfort without taking away my mates? They have a point its been two weeks she should be jiving more here by now. But how do I talk to her about this without accusing her?

"Man up and just talk to her, better yet let me. I got some choice words for our little 'mate' I'd like to share with her," Rider is less then please with our mate as well. At first he longed to grow their bond but now he's just pissed and bitter.

"What is your problem with our mate now, you were over the moon when we met her whats changed."

hes quiet for some time. I dismiss Mike telling him I will speak with her but he needs to shut down this gossip now.

"....I think you are right Ty" Rider finally says "In the begging we felt off when we would spend time with her. We attributed it to the blocked bond but what if it's not that. What if... what if she's not our mate..."

"Dude what, why would you even think that. You feel the pull, the light tingles, why would you even doubt the bond."

"I just have a feeling, and every day she spend up in that room the stronger it gets. I can't explain it but I am almost certain now, There is infact something wrong here and it has to do with Vicki."

"So what do we do man."

"Easy, we go to the warrior games."

"What the hell, why would we even think about doing that in a time like this."

"Duh, if it is Vicki, it gets her off our land. And Two she will be forced to mingle at the games which will either force our bond to strengthen or it will reveal her true colors. Either way our pack is safe and we get our answers."

"....That's actually kind of genius."

"I know that's why I am the Alpha and you are just my human counter part." Rider then cackles in my ear, I haven't heard him this happy since we met Vicki. If he's right theses games may have more importants to this pack then just a few trophies. But what will happen if he learns shes not our mate. How will he handle the loss.

"Dont worry pretty boy, Ive already processed it. If shes not then we have revealed an enemy, and we will keep looking for the one that is. And if she is then we will have our answer and will need to start focusing on our bond with her for the good of our pack. And we will need to get to the bottom of these events."

"Lets go talk to her, its time we make her be apart of our lives."

"Lead the way pup, I can't wait to see how she blows up on you, hahaha"

I head back to the pack house and up to the beta floor. knocking on Vickis door I wait for her to answer. After a while without answering I spoke up.

"Vicki, its me open up."

she opens the door, "Tyler how can I help you?"

"Meet me in my office in five minutes."

thats all I say and storm off and back down stairs to my office. I want to cause a little commotion with her to get her to understand I mean business.

Five minutes later she walk into my office a wee bit shyly, obvious concern plastered on her face.

"Shut the door and have a seat." I haven't seen her all week so the coldness to my voice is easy to portray.

She sits down, "What is the meaning of all of this, what is going on?"

"Vicki, Tho I have much enjoyed getting to know you, I have grown concerned as of late with your lack if interest in myself and even this pack. As future Luna it is your responsibility to help me lead them and, tho I know you've only been here a short while, I had hope to see more progress by now. We have the warrior games in two day. YOU will be coming with me and be by my side through the entirty of the events. YOU will mingle with our pack and get aquainted with our members. And YOU will not return to your room when we return home. We are mates and we will be living as such starting at the games."

Her jaw drops, I don't think shes ever expected me to be so demanding.

"Tyler please, I'm not a people person don't force me into this situation that going to make me so uncomfortable. How about this. How about you just mark me now and then our bond can have a jump start on strengthening while you are gone. Im sure by the time you return I Will be so longing to be with you everything will fall naturally into place then."

As tempting as that sounded, Rider grows in my mind and I agree with him, if there is any doubt about her loyalty to the pack or the truth of our mating I can't go though with it.

"I will mark you, AFTER the games, should everything go well we will celebrate as a pack and I will claim you as mine infront of them all to see."

"TYLER I CAN'T..."

"You can and you will, this is not up for discussion or debate. you have tonight and tomorrow to wrap your head around things and get your mind ready to be the luna this pack needs, come Saturday morning I expect you to be ready to leave by 10AM and looking and acting the part of a luna. I'm sure if you have any questions or concern my mother would love to help prepare you. She has been begging to spend time with her new daughter-in-law."

"That won't be necessary. I can see there is no other way, I will go now and prepare myself, I am sorry I have been such a disappointment to you Alpha...." She got up and left the room, I felt slightly bad for making her feel like such an unworthy mate that she would use my title but Rider is right we need to shake something up with her.

"Way to go baby boy, Who knew you had it in you to strike fear into your own mate. Bravo."

"Cut it out man this was your idea don't tell me you've changed your mind now all night did 'Alpha' get cold feet that he may loose his mate"

"No, I just figured I'd have to take over cause your pansy ass wouldn't have the balls to do it yourself. I'm impressed kid, Their may be hope for you yet."

I roll my eyes this mutt is gonna be the death of me.
