Opening ceromonies

Tylers POV

At 10AM the entire pack is outside the pack house loading into the pack travel buses heading to the games. Many woman and children crowd around cheering on our packs contestants and hugging their loved ones goodbye. My mother, Justin and mikes mates and a few pack warriors are staying behind to keep an eye on things and to look more into the events as of late. I've instructed my mother to have the Omegas move Vickis things into my room while we are gone. I will have my luna at the end of all of this. I have too.

Ten minutes later and Vicki finally shows herself as all the buses have been loaded frustration can be heard from inside that she kept them waiting.

"Not a good start to the trip, You're late. Lets go."

"I'm sorry my nerves got the better of me and I threw up a little. I had to change and get myself ready all over again. I'll be on time the rest of the week I promise."

"We shall see luna, we shall see."

This whole being a d**k business seem almost too easy and I feel bad for putting her through this. I know it's for our own good but how can our bond grow if I push her away at the same time.

"Just stick to the plan sissy boy. She is going to have to figure out how to face us and her people if she ever want to be our Luna." Rider had no problem with his plan because well it's his plan. I can't help but feel there's more to it then he's letting on but I will go with it for now.

The ride itself was reletively uneventful. Vicki fell asleep almost instantly and beside the movies playing on the tiny screens hanging all throughout the bus and small chatter amungst the pack, it was rather boring actually.

"You know for heading to a big competetive event, the atmosphere on this bus is very somber," Justin links me, "Maybe you should do something about that, Boss."

We are about an hour away from Bloodmoons pack grounds and hes right. Time to rally the team and put Vicki to the test.

I wake her up and and she slowly stirs. "Wake up Vicki, We need to address the pack united together."

"Just five more minutes," she says yawning and rubbing her eyes.

"No now," I growl low in her ear. She jumps with a startle and I stand in the aisle to face the pack. I extend a hand to her and she take it, rising to stand beside me. I pause the movie and speak loudly grabbing my pack attention.

"Can I have everyones attention please. As many of you have heard by now we have had a guest on our territory for the last few weeks. I thank you all for your patience and grace in giving her her space as she grows accustom to our packs way of life. I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce you all to my mate and your Luna, Vicki Volkov! It is my hope that these games will provide us all with ample opportunity to grow together as one and for you all to come to know her as I do. She will be a great addition to our family and I encourage you all to welcome her this weekend. That being said I know all our minds have been heavy as of late, many of you have children in the hospital or knows someone who does. How can any of us focus on competing in a time like this. Do not worry, your leaders and I are close to moving in on those that are responsible and answers will be revealed soon. We have taken every procaution and your children and loved ones are safe. Now I want you all to remember what theses games are all about. Strength, Skill, Knowledge, Trust. Traits I know each and every one of you possess and I am positive together we will bring home much honor and rewards to our families. Don't do it for me. Do it for them. Do it for the children lying in the hospital anticipating their mother, father, brother or sister to come home with epic stories of the warrior games. Stories that will rejuvonate their spirit after this nasty cold has passed. Do it for your wive who are at home taking care of thing in your abcess. Do it for the Pack that we all love and promised to protect through our oaths. But most of all do it for yourselves. Put your very best into theses games and I promise you we will all come back VICTORIOUS!"

The bus errupts into applause, cheers, and whistles. You can feel the atmosphere shift into hope and positivity.

I signal Vicki to sit and I rejoin her.

"See that wasn't too bad. They all are excited to meet you and I didn't make you give a public introduction. You can do this my dear. Just believe in yourself, and our bond."

"You're right, that wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Thank you for forcing me to face my fears. I see now why I am mated to such an Alpha. I had wondered what It was that could possibly make the moon goddess believe you needed little old me. But maybe infact it was I that needed you."

Her sweet sentiments tounched me and I leaned in and gave her a kiss. The tingles grew in that moment and they were now like little shockwaves. Could the mangy mutts plan be working?

"Don't count on it just yet," Rider growled to me.

"What's your deal man. Didn't you just feel that. Our bond is real, its growing."

"We'll see about that. Just don't get carried away and deviate from our plan. You will not force me to mark her until I am certain shes the one."

"Dude chill out buzz kill, just let us be happy."

I look to Vicki and smile, she leans her head on my shoulder and I spend the rest of the drive telling her all about the games and what to expect on this week long adventure.

As we drive onto the pack ground we can see many tented areas in the distance. These are where the events will be taking place over the next few days. Each one is open 24/7 until the day of the event for any extra practice anyone feels they may need. Tho if you are participating in multiple events there won't be much time for practice. We pull up to a grand hotel, one you'd expect to see in a large city. As the pack gets off the bus We are greeted by Alpha Carlos Black and his Luna Carmen.

"Welcome Alpha Kessler and The White Claw pack to Bloodmoon. I Alpha Black and my Luna are honorred to host you all hear this week for our annual Warrior games. Our omegas will provide you all with your room keys and Take your luggage up for you. Please make yourway inside for refreshments. Many packs are already here and our openning ceromonies will be a starting in one hour once the last two remaining packs have arrived."

My pack and myself bow our heads in respect to our hosting Alpha and we make our way into the grand ballroom where the walls are lined with banquet table filled with every food imaginable. There is an entire wall dedicated to different drink fountains from punches, to soda, juices for the kids and even an open bar with every variation of alchol one could Imagine. I guide Vicki to a food station when I am approached by Alpha Thorn of the WhiteWater pack.

"Tyler how good it is to see you here. Seems like it was only yesterday we were both stuck in the bleachers wishing we could join in on theses events. It will be nice to finally have our chance."

"Yes it will and I can finally prove to you I'm the stronger man of the two of us. haha. It's good to see you my friend. I'd like to introduce you to my Luna Vicki."

I turn back towards her and touch her shoulder drawing her attention away from the food.

"Vicki, This is my friend Remus. I met him here ten years ago when we were both too young to participate in theses games."

"It's a pleasure to meet you Remus. If I may excuse myself, I slept the whole way here and missed breakfast this morning. There are some pigs in a blanket over here that are screaming for my attentions." She turns back to the buffet and begins filling her plate.

"She's still getting used to the whole Luna thing and big crowds, she had a sheltered life before she met me." I tell Thorn and he raises an eyebrow.

"Tyler... were friends right, I can tell you anything."

"Of course why?"

"How sure are you thats she's your mate?"

I am taken aback. Its one thing for Rider and I to question her but a complete stranger.. what is he getting at. Before I can respond he continues, "I only ask because she looks vaguely familar to another female that I was introduced to about five years ago by Alpha Jonathan... Only come to find out she wasn't his mate at all. I never heard what happened or how just that she decieved him some how, caused alot of trouble for the pack and ran off with a bunch of their money and family treasures."

"How is that possible. How can you fake a mate bond. You either feel it or you don't." I say knowing full well I don't even fully feel it myself but I'm not going to give him any ammo into my head.

"Do you feel it Tyler, that can't eat, can't sleep, have to be near you every moment bond. Is that what you feel for her. I'm not saying I doubt you man. It may not even be the same girl, it has been five years and it was a quick and brief introduction. I'm just trying to look out for you. If your bond is that strong then forget I said anything, but if its not... Well just be careful ok. I don't want to see another pack hurt by this fake bond nonesense."

"I appreciate you looking out Remus, but I do believe you are mistaken."

"Understood I won't say anything more. It was good seeing you again. We will catch up more later. for now I think I will join your luna and scooping up those little piggies before the are all gone."

"I told you so," Rider says. "I know something isn't right here. We need to find Alpha Jonathan and talk to him."

"Agreed but not with her around if it is true I don't want to spook her."

"Can I have everyones attention please." Alpha Black is on a large stage speaking into a microphone and the crowd goes quiet. He begins with his opening speech carrying on about the games and the event itenerary. One by one he introduced 7 of the packs that are here including ours and informs us that The DarkWoods pack is running a little late and will be entering the ballroom momentarily. He goes on and on rambling but I can't focus much on what he is saying. Slowly a cough is breaking out ammongst the crowd just as DarkWoods is entering. At first it was one or two faintly here or there and the indivisuals began excusing themselves outside. But as time went on more and more wolves began to cough and they become more frequent. Just then I got a whiff of Lillies and sonething sweet, but its not coming from Vicki. This is stronger more pure and the sweetness its so familar and creamy. Its the smell of Carmel. I begin to cough now too as Alpha Black requests everyone to step away from the food as it seems it may have been tampered with. I cough even hard and Vicki grabs my arm as Rider growls loudly in my head. "Get that b***h off of us. She is not our mate."

"Chill man I know I smell our mate too but if we spook her we can't catch her in whatever it is shes done to us."

Vicki pulls me out of my link to rider. "O Tyler whats wrong, you didn't eat any of the food why are you coughing too?"

"I just need some fresh air I'm getting closterphobic. You stay here and comfort the pack remember you are our Luna. Make me proud."

I link the boys telling them to find and stay with Vicki. To not let her out of their sight no matter what."

they agree all though somewhat confused as to why I couldn't. I promised to explain later but for now I must leave.

With that I storm out of the room and following my nose I know this time it won't lead me wrong.
