As Kaira lay back on the bed in the medical bay her stomach started to churn and her heart hammered. If what Director Nelstarn had told them was true, she’d wake up feeling no worse than she did now… which was better than she had in some time. But that seemed to be a big if. There was no other option. If she stayed awake and active throughout the trip, her remaining time would run out well before they even got anywhere near Vebrath.
