The Depraved Fiend

“It’s you?” Sela gasped. “Don’t tell me you’re surprised, Sela?” Doran chuckled. “I mean it was so obvious wasn’t it? A handsome Prince comes out of nowhere, ready to marry you and show you everything you’ve ever wanted. I mean that’s like a fantasy right?” “I am not in love with you, I’m in love with Lev.” “Yes, we may have to do something about that.” Doran turned his sights on Lev, but Sela and I stuck out our hands to stop him. Doran flew back into the wall and fell on the floor with a thud. “Your powers work here!” Sela said in relief. “We can stop him together.” “No, Sela it has to be you.” I said. “You are The Seraphic Paragon. Only you can defeat him.” “Well you can at least help hold him here until your friends arrive.” “Sela, please let me down!” Lev urged. “Do you think Doran could have possessed him too?” Sela asked me. “Sela please, I remember now,” Lev whispered. “I came here in spring. The trees were starting to blossom and you would climb them in the evening so you could see the sun set. You would grab a few of them in your hands and when the breeze would come by you would watch the flowers float and even use your powers to keep them going. Sometimes you would create a whirlwind around yourself. Almost like protection.” Sela smiled. “I didn’t know anyone was watching me.” “I always was, my love.” She lowered him to the floor and they kissed. It made me smile. Sela was going to have real love! Once Doran was defeated of course. Doran was groaning as he got up. “You’re still too strong.” “I will defeat you then.” Sela said firmly. A smirk came across his face. “You don’t know the first thing about defeating me, Sela. I may not be ready to take you on, but you’re not ready to defeat me. What a shame. I thought this was our final showdown.” Doran stuck out his hands and black smoke filled the room. Sela and I used our powers to dissolve it but once we did, he was gone. “Where did he go?” Lev asked. “He’s escaped! We must find him!” Sela announced before running out of the room. We followed her as she ran to her parents’ room. I had dreamt about this castle so much it honestly felt like home to me. I knew exactly where everything was. “Why do I feel like I know you?” Lev whispered. “I have been here for a lot of things happening. I was kind of there when you and Sela first made love.” “You watched us?!” “No! I was…kind of Sela when that was happening. It’s hard to explain. We’re connected.” “I see,” Lev muttered. “This is all very confusing.” “I’m aware.” “Mom, we must alert every soldier in our rank! It’s Prince Doran! Sameal has disguised himself as Prince Doran and he tried to kill Lev!” “That can’t be!” Sela’s mother gasped. “He is your betrothed!” “He made it that way so I would have to fall in love with him.” She explained. Her parents’ eyes fixed on me. “Is that a ghost?” Her father questioned. “No, she’s my angel.” Sela informed them. “She protected me tonight with Doran.” I waved. “Hello, I’m Celine.” “So what do we do now?” Lev asked. “We prepare for Doran to return. He surely will.” I said. “But how do I do that?” Sela questioned. “I’m…not sure, but-” A strange jolt struck my body. “What’s wrong Celine?” Sela asked. “I think I’m being woken up.” “No wait, I need you.” “I will be back, I promise you!” I said. “Please do Celine!” *** I shot up as I awoke and Enzo cried out and almost dropped me. “Are we close?” I asked. “I think so? You were asleep for a while, Celine.” He said as he set me down. My legs felt a little wobbly, but I could handle it. “I met her, Enzo! She was beautiful, sweet and so powerful! We found out who the Depraved Fiend is, but they’re both not ready to actually defeat each other. I have to help Sela and figure out how to defeat him.” “Well how do we do that?” Enzo questioned. “I need Grey.” “What?!” “Grey!” I called before running up to him. “Hey, you’re awake,” He said. “Are you okay?” “Please tell me you have the book about The Seraphic Paragon!” “Yeah, it’s in my bag.” “I need it.” I stated. He reached into his bag and pulled it out. “What’s going on Celine?” “There has to be something in here about how to defeat the Depraved Fiend. Sela needs me to help her otherwise he might kill her.” “I remember seeing something, hold on,” Grey flipped through the pages. “Um…here! It says The Seraphic Paragon can defeat The Depraved Fiend only when she is in her true form and he in his.” “What the heaven does that even mean?” I asked. “I’m not sure, but maybe they only take human forms or something? Like so they can blend in, but in reality they’re some kind of divine creatures.” “Maybe that’s it.” I kissed his cheek. “You are the absolute best Grey, really!” “Then why won’t you be with me? Why did you choose Enzo over me?” “Because…my heart wants him and I always follow my heart.” “I guess that makes a lot of sense.” Grey sighed. “Still hurts.” “I will make it up to you Grey, I promise.” I declared. I had no idea how I was going to do that, but I was determined to. As I made my way back to Enzo, Mira bumped me. “Watch it, slut.” “Mira, please, I said I was sorry! I didn’t mean to hurt you.” I said. “Well you did. Very badly too. So I don’t forgive you and I never will. But you’ll get what you deserve.” Mira smirked. It made me nervous, but I didn’t have time to dwell on it. I had a Duchess to save. “What did Grey have that you needed so badly?” Enzo asked. “Don’t be so envious, Enzo, it is not a good look on you.” I frowned. “Every look is good on me, sweetheart.” “I need to go to sleep again.” “What the hell is going on?” “I am helping to save the world, of course.” I smiled. “You sure are incredible,” Enzo kissed me. “I’m too lucky.” “I’m very lucky too. I promise when I wake up, I will explain everything to you.” “Just be careful.” “I don’t have to be. I quite literally am in your arms.” I giggled before kissing him again. Enzo swept me up in his strong arms and kissed me for a few more seconds. “I love you, Celine.” “I love you too.” I whispered. I opened my mouth and Enzo poured the potion in my mouth. A minute later I fell back into my slumber. I looked around. Where was everyone? I could hear cries of fear and panic from different places in the castle. I didn’t know what was going on, but I had to find Sela. “Sela?” I called. “Sela, I’m back!” “Celine!” Lev hissed. I turned and he was motioning me into the study. “What’s going on?” I asked. “He’s back. He’s brought a possessed army with him. He wants Sela to give herself up.” “No she can’t! Where is she?” “What do you think? She went after him.” “I have to get to her.” “No, it’s too dangerous!” Lev said. “Nothing can touch me Lev, I’m transparent.” I reminded him. “Can you protect me too if I go with you?” “I don’t think that's a good idea, Lev.” “I can’t let the love of my life be alone.” He whispered. I nodded. If Enzo was doing something like this, I would go after him too. “Fine, but stay close by.” We hurried through the castle, dodging explosions. I realized I didn’t actually have to do that. Nothing was going to hurt me. We exited the castle and I spotted Sela. She was slowly walking through the battle towards Doran. No. She wasn’t ready yet. “Sela!” I screamed. She turned and her eyes widened before running in my direction. “You’re back Celine!” “You’re not ready yet Sela,” I said. “You have to be in your true form to defeat him and he has to be in his.” I explained. “What does that mean?” Sela questioned. “I don’t know, but this isn’t your true form. You have to find it and bring his out of him!” Sela paused for a moment. “Retreat!” She screamed. “To the castle!” Her army started working their way back in. “Celine, I need your help to get rid of them!” Sela urged. I thought of when I had gotten rid of Rafe and his army. We used our powers to blow them all away before hurrying back into the castle and locking the doors. “Okay, what now?” Lev asked. “Oh no,” I gasped, feeling the jolt once more. “I’m leaving again.” “Celine, please stay, I need you!” Sela begged. “I cannot do this without you.” “I will be there soon, Sela. Just wait for me.” I whispered. Enzo was shaking me awake. “What’s going on?” I asked. “Celine, we’re here.” I looked in front of us and there was the castle! It looked just like it had a few seconds ago. It was empty out front and I knew Sela was inside. I was so excited to hug her. We approached the front double doors and I knocked loudly. “Sela, it’s me Celine! I’m here!” There was no response. “Sela!” I pushed the doors and was shocked when they opened. Slowly we entered the castle. It was silent. We walked through the halls and came across no one. What on earth was going on? “What’s going on?” Enzo questioned. “It’s empty…everyone is gone.”
