A Difference

I backed away slowly. I didn’t want them to hear me and ruin their moment. For some odd reason my chest was tight and I felt kind of nauseous. Why was that? I should be jumping for joy right now. I had done it. I had made the great Alpha Enzo fall in love. My life was saved and I would get my white wings. That was all I ever wanted. Though I had loved my time on Earth, it was time for me to go home and be the angel I was always meant to be. This was a very fun detour to take, but it was it. “Celine!” I turned and saw Grey hurrying over to me. “Hi,” I smiled sadly. “You okay?” “Um, yeah, I just have to go do something.” “Well you can’t go off by yourself.” He stated. “I asked Enzo if I could do it and he said yes.” I assured him. “Oh, well how long will you be gone?” “You won’t even know I’m gone.” I had a plan. When I got back to The Cosmic Sanctum, I would sprinkle some Forget Me Dust on the Bloodrose Banes. I wanted them to remember me, but it might be better if they didn’t. Only Enzo would. Mira would think she and Enzo had fallen in love out of nowhere and it had nothing to do with me. This would all feel like a dream to them. "Oh I always know when you're gone, Celine. I miss you." Grey smiled. I pulled him to me and kissed him. "Knowing you is so amazing, Grey." "I feel the same way about you. Come find me when you're done." He kissed me again before walking off. I felt a little bad that I was going to make him forget me, but he would find another girl that could make him happier than I could. I wasn't meant for love and Grey was. Finally I got deeper into the forest. I looked around to make sure that no one else was there. “Archangels!” I called. “I’m ready to come home!” I was suddenly transported and I was in front of them. “Angel Celine, what is it that you require?” Archangel Aergos questioned. “You still have a month left to finish your mission.” “B-but I already finished it! Enzo is in love with Mira!” I exclaimed. “It seems he is not. He currently loves, but is not in love.” Archangel Tiassa informed me. “Your mission was to make him fall in love. You are not there yet.” I sighed. “What’s the difference between love and being in love?” “You will have to find out if you want to be saved. Back to Earth you go.” Before I knew it, I was back in the forest. Darn it all to heaven! How was he not in love yet? He had just expressed his love to Mira so why wasn’t that enough? I slowly walked back to the fortress, feeling more like a failure than ever. I only had a month to make Enzo fall in love completely. Could I actually do it? “Celine!” Enzo ran over to me. “Where the hell have you been?” “I had to um…check in with the Archangels.” His eyes widened. “Are you leaving? I-it’s too early right?” “No, I can’t leave,” I muttered. “Oh, good. Um, can we have that talk now in my room?” “I um…don’t think that’s a good idea, Enzo.” “Well why not?” “Because whenever we’re alone you touch me…and kiss me.” A grin came across Enzo’s face. “So what? That wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, right?” “Enzo, you love Mira, why would you want to kiss me?” I demanded. His face fell. “How do you know I told Mira I loved her?” “I was there.” “Celine, you need to understand-” “I’m glad, Enzo really. It’s just…you need to actually fall in love with her. Apparently there’s a difference.” “What do you mean?” “I went to the Archangels, because I thought I had completed my mission, but they told me that you had to actually be in love.” “Wait, you were just going to go?” Enzo questioned. “Without saying anything? You were just going to leave?” “I can’t stay here forever, Enzo.” I whispered. “I-I know, but why would you try to leave me earlier and then not even tell me? Celine, you’re my best friend.” “I’m sorry, I guess I was just a little overwhelmed that you loved Mira.” “Why did that overwhelm you?” “I don’t know, it just did,” I sighed. “Maybe I thought it was all happening so fast.” “It’s not, I promise.” He smiled. “You’re going to fall in love right? I mean you’re halfway there.” “I think I will.” “Good.” “So…can we go talk in my room or not?” Enzo questioned, stepping closer to me. “Enzo…you love Mira so whatever we had to figure out is over.” “Why?” “It’s too confusing! We’re just friends and you love Mira so just leave it at that! You need to stop whatever this is!” “Why are you yelling at me?” Enzo asked. “Are you mad that I said I loved Mira or something?” I scoffed. “No, of course not! But if you love someone, you don’t kiss someone else.” “There you are Celine,” Grey smiled. “Did you do what you had to do?” “I did. Wanna go to the room?” “Definitely.” He grabbed my hand. “See you later Alpha Enzo.” “Yeah, bye.” Enzo muttered. When Grey and I got to the room, he started kissing me. “I missed you, Celine.” He whispered as laid down on the bed. “I missed you too,” I smiled. Grey took off his shirt and then mine as he always did. He gently groped my boobs and grinded against me as we continued to kiss through heavy breathing. I could always tell Grey was getting a little too worked up. He would kind of start growling and biting down on my neck harder. His grinding would also get faster. But he always managed to stop himself before he took things too far. I could tell it was very hard for him, but I appreciated how much he cared about not going beyond my boundaries. “I was thinking…maybe we could get a bit more serious.” “Like how?” “Like…I want to make love to you, Celine.” Grey breathed as he kissed my neck. “I think about it all the time.” I thought about it too, but I wasn’t sure that I was ready. But I wanted to be. Everyone else had love. Why shouldn’t I go for it too? “We can start working our way there,” I whispered. “We don’t have to now, I just think we should get there really soon.” “Do you love me, Grey?” “Um…I don’t know um…maybe? I know that you make me feel like no one else in the entire world does and I’m always happy when I’m with you. If that’s love, then I think so. Do you love me?” “I don’t know either. I’ve never loved anyone and no one has ever loved me. But I really want it sometimes. Life seems so much better when you’re in love.” I sighed. “Is this because Enzo told Mira he loved her?” “How did you know about that?” “Oh Mira is kind of spreading it around like wildfire, she’s super happy about it. I’m just so shocked. I never thought Enzo would truly find love.” “I think neither did I.” I admitted. “Well this is a good sign for you, right? If Enzo can find love, so can you. You are much prettier and nicer than him.” Grey kissed me again and even though I wanted to continue the conversation, I didn’t. I had to start being happy for Enzo and Mira. They were almost in love, which meant I could go home. The only problem was that now Earth was starting to feel a lot more like home than the Cosmic Sanctum ever did. “Someone is at the barrier!” A voice shouted. Grey and I put our clothes on and ran out. “What kind of creature is it?” Enzo asked. “Do they work for Alpha Rafe?” “He claims he doesn’t,” Pierce informed us. “But…he claims he knows Celine.” “Me?” I asked. “But I don’t think I know anyone.” “Let us see.” We hurried outside and the Bonepikes had a man in their grapes, who was shockingly calm. He didn’t act like he wanted to attack someone. As we got closer I realized I recognized him! That perfect brown hair, those sparkling blue eyes, and that almost devilish smile. I gasped. “Sander?”
