The Nightmare Begins

Grey was waiting for me at my chambers. “Is everything okay?” He asked. “I don’t think so,” I whispered. “I’m quite tired, can we talk in the morning?” “Don’t leave, Celine. I know Alpha Enzo can be mean and aggressive, but he doesn’t mean to be.” “He doesn’t want me here.” “He doesn’t know what he wants. Look, just stay. You’re really good at your job and we might need you.” Gray declared. I sighed as I entered my chambers. “I’ll think about it. Good night Grey.” I closed the door before letting my wings loose. Should I listen to Grey and keep at it? There were still three months. Maybe I could make this work. -- Enzo seemed surprised to see me the next morning. I waved at him before sitting down with Mira, Irene, and Paz. “Alpha Enzo is staring at you again,” Mira informed me. “Yes, he is.” I waved at Enzo again. “He must really like you.” “No, I don’t think he does,” I admitted. “He kind of hates me.” “Oh, that’s cool.” Irene stated. “It is?” I asked. “Hate is better than indifference.” “I never thought about that,” “That’s why Irene is amazing. She makes you think about things you normally wouldn’t.” Paz smiled. “Yes that is amazing,” I commented as Enzo caught my eye again. “Come here,” He mouthed. I shook my head. “Now!” There was a strange jolt through my body. It wanted to listen to Enzo. What dark magic was this? “I’ll be right back,” I said as my body forced itself up and over to Enzo. “Sit down now,” He hissed. I did as he said. I didn’t like this one bit! “How can I help you, Enzo? “I asked. “Why are you still here?” “I decided not to give up so easily.” “You are so infuriating!” “The same could be said about you, you know?” I smiled. “Celine, I’m not going to fall in love,” Enzo whispered. “You are wasting both of our time. Go back to heaven!” I didn’t feel a jolt to my system with this request. How strange! “No, I will not. I was given three months and I am going to take them.” I said stubbornly. He glared at me. “Okay, go back to your table full of weirdos.” The jolt was back and I got up. I realized I had read about this. Back when guardian angels used to actually interact with their charges, they would listen to whatever their charge said, but the charge had to actually mean the command. So Enzo meant it when he told me to come over to him, sit down, and go back to the table. But when he told me to go back to heaven, he didn’t mean that. He wanted me to stay to help him! I sat down happily. “What did he say?” Mira asked. “Nothing important. You were right, he doesn’t hate me.” I smiled. “I knew it.” “I’m going to be sticking around. I will fulfill my duty here.” “What’s your duty?” “It’s a secret,” I winked. “She’s mysterious,” Irene stated. “I like it.” “But also has a sunny disposition,” Paz smiled. “I like her too.” “I don’t know if it means anything, but I also like you Celine.” Mira added in. “It means the world to me, Mira. I think we’re all going to be great friends.” -- “Celine, my chambers now!” Enzo barked after breakfast. Why did he have to be so aggressive?! “What can I do for you Enzo?” I asked as he slammed the door. “Leave! Go fly back where you came from!” Once again I felt no jolt. “You don’t actually want me to go,” I stated. “What?” “You’re my charge. When you tell me to do something and you really mean it, I have to do it even if I don’t want to. But since you don’t mean it, I’m not going to do it.” Enzo was speechless at first. “You’re a freak!” “Don’t be nasty Enzo,” I scolded. “You know the quicker you fall in love the quicker you get rid of me.” “Or I can wait out these three months and get rid of you that way.” “Sure but that’s three months of me bothering the heaven out of you.” He glared at me. “This is f*****g miserable.” “So is being alone for the rest of your life. Everyone deserves love.” I whispered. “Somehow even you.” Enzo groaned. “Fine, make me fall in love.” “Really?” I asked giddily. “Yes. Whatever gets rid of you the fastest.” “Yay!” I hugged him tightly. “Enzo, this is going to be amazing for us both!” I was shocked when Enzo smiled down at me. Was he actually happy to fall in love?! “Your t**s feel amazing against my chest. Are you sure we can’t f**k?” I abruptly pulled away from Enzo. “You are a vulgar werewolf. You need to fix that if someone is going to fall in love with you!” “No, I don’t.” “And why not?” “I’m the Alpha, Celine.” “So what?” “I don’t change for anyone. They change for me. That’s the first rule you need to know if you want me to fall in love.” Enzo whispered. “Yeah and what’s the second?” I challenged. “I always get what I want…and I won't accept anything less than that.” “Neither will I.” Enzo grinned. “This is gonna be a f*****g nightmare isn’t it?” “Of course not. Can we go look at girls now?” I asked excitedly. “Ugh, fine. I need to pick the next girl I’m going to f**k anyways.” -- “What about her, she’s bubbly.” “Trisha? I already f****d her,” Enzo stated. “Who haven’t you had intercourse with here?” I demanded. “I’ve been through a lot of these girls. None of those broads were ‘the one’ so let’s try to find someone I haven’t fucked.” “Well that’s slim pickings, isn’t it? Okay what about the girl in the green shirt?” “Nora? Nah, her t**s are uneven.” “What is your obsession with breasts?!” “Have you ever had one in your mouth?” He asked. I shook my head. “When you do, you’ll understand.” “Enzo, come on. Be serious about this!” I whined. “Fine,” He rolled his eyes. “Alpha Enzo!” Grey ran over to us. “Something terrible has happened!” “Well spit it out already!” “The pack members we sent to the Bonepikes, they were attacked by Hellions! “Are they dead?” Enzo asked. “No…but you have to come see them.” They ran off and I followed them, hoping I could help. We went to the Infirmary and I gasped. The pack members that had been attacked were purple and seemed to be frozen. Their eyes were completely black. “What the f**k is this?” Enzo whispered. “It’s a curse,” I whispered. “They can’t stay here.” “What do you mean?” Grey asked. “They shouldn’t have been brought her-” I gasped as I felt a hand wrap around my throat and choke me. I desperately grasped at the purple hand, but it was much too strong. “Celine!” Enzo cried out. “Stay back!” I choked out. I reached out and touched the possessed man’s head. I gasped, seeing exactly what happened before the curse had been put on him. He and the other men were surrounded by Hellions. They were horrifying. Glowing red eyes, sharp teeth, long claws. They were grey and thin and kind of looked like they would blow away in the wind, but they wouldn’t. They were insanely fast. Before the men could even shift, they had their throats in their hands. Their mouths opened and thick black smoke exited, floating into every orifice it could reach. The pack member’s eyes rolled back before becoming completely black. They were screaming in anguish as though the inside of their bodies were being burned. There was so much pain and agony. This was a fate worse than death. I finally felt the release from my throat before falling to the ground. Enzo’s white wolf had tackled the possessed man to the ground before standing in front of me protectively as I gasped for air. Grey transformed too and the two went on the attack. I had seen them fight before, but it was different up close. They were fearless and powerful! Yelps and snarls rang through the infirmary room as Enzo and Grey fought off the purple man. I knew they didn’t want to kill him because he was one of them, but they didn’t know how to stop him. I stood up shakily. The two wolves had him pinned down. “Enzo, Grey, move!” I screamed. For some reason they listened to me. I conjured up some ‘forget me’ dust and blew it in his face. He started seizing and foaming at the mouth before literally turning into ash as though he had been burned. The grey pile lay at my feet. Enzo transformed back into his human form. “Celine what the f**k did you do?!”
