“Is something going on between you and Enzo?”
“What do you mean?” I asked quickly.
“Things seem tense again. I thought you guys talked it out.” Grey said.
“We did. We’re fine.”
“Are you sure?”
“Mhmm.” I nodded before kissing him.
I knew kissing would distract him. I was right.
Grey seemed to be overcome with emotion. He pressed me against the wall as he kissed me harder. I felt my feet leave the floor and my legs wrapped around his torso. Grey was breathing heavily as he kissed my neck.
I closed my eyes and moaned. I loved how sexy Grey made me feel. It was unlike any other feeling I’d ever had…I guess other than kissing Enzo.
“Oh hello.”
Grey pulled away from me and we saw Mira standing there.
“Hi,” I squeaked as Grey set me down.
“You two look like you’re having fun.” She stated.
“Um, yeah, I got a little carried away,” Grey ran his fingers through his hair. “Did you two want to talk?”
“Yes,” I said quickly.
“Then I’ll see you later.” Grey kissed my cheek before walking away.
“Well that sure is heating up fast.” Mira grinned.
“Yeah, it’s kind of crazy.”
“I wanted to talk to you about about Enzo.”
“Oh, um, what about him?” I questioned.
“Has he said anything to you? I feel him pulling away a little bit.”
“I’m sure he’s just stressed about Alpha Rafe, that’s all.”
“It’s deeper than that, Celine. Or I guess it’s not really.” She sighed.
“What do you mean?”
“He won’t have s*x with me anymore. I feel like I’ve done something wrong.”
“Oh…um. I don’t…know what to say.”
“Can you talk to him Celine please? See if he doesn’t like me anymore or something. I feel like I'm losing my mind here! I feel strange even sleeping in the same bed, not knowing what’s going on.”
“Um…we should have a um sleepover!” I exclaimed.
That’s a normal thing people on earth do right?
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. You, me and Irene. Tonight we’ll eat junk food and talk about boys.” I smiled.
“But you’ll talk to Enzo first?”
“Yes, of course I will.”
“Good. Thank you Celine. I’m sorry you’re the mediator in our relationship.” Mira sighed.
“It’s okay. I’ll handle it.” I promised.
Mira hugged me and I hoped she couldn’t feel how fast my heart was beating out of anxiety.

“Enzo? Can we talk?” I asked.
His eyes lit up. “Yeah of course.”
We went to his room.
“So what do you want to talk about?”
“Mira.”
His face hardened. “Oh. Why?”
“She’s worried about you, Enzo. She says you two aren’t connecting.”
“What the hell does that mean? We spend like every second together.”
“She said you don’t…make love to her anymore.” I whispered.
Enzo scoffed. “You were the one who told me not to sleep with her and now you’re mad at me for not doing it?”
“I’m not mad Enzo, she just asked me to talk to you.”
“Great, so that’s the only way you’ll talk to me, if someone makes you?”
“Why are you upset with me?”
“Because you’ve avoided me for days, Celine!” He hissed.
“No…I haven’t.”
“Yes, you have! You barely look at me! What, because we shared a moment?”
“A moment? It wasn’t a moment it was a…I don’t what it was, Enzo but it shouldn’t have happened.” I said.
“So why did you kiss me back? If it was wrong…why did it feel right?”
“I don’t know. But you’re with Mira and Grey and I-”
“Don’t make this about him or anyone else! This is about us, Celine!” Enzo snapped. “We kissed for a reason.”
“And what was that reason Enzo?” I challenged.
He opened his mouth but said nothing. “I don’t…I don’t know but we should figure it out.”
“You need to be nicer to Mira, okay? That’s the only thing that needs to be figured out.”
“Fine, Celine. I’ll do what you want like I always do.”
“Excuse me?” I asked.
“The only reason I started dating Mira was because of you. I’m nicer because of you. I do literally everything you tell me to do, Celine!”
“I’m trying to help you Enzo, that’s my job! It’s like you forget my life is on the line here!”
“No I don’t! I just…I didn’t plan to fall in love Celine. I really didn’t.” Enzo whispered. “And now I feel I’m starting to and I’m getting scared.”
“She loves you back, Enzo. Don’t be scared.” I said.
“Yeah, you’re right. Fine, I’ll be nicer to her and I’ll start f*****g her again if that makes you happy.” He stormed out of the room.
What the heaven was wrong with him?
--
“I’m really glad we’re doing this,” Irene stated. “I love Paz but a night away will be nice.”
“I’m missing Enzo like crazy. Thank you for talking to him, Celine. We made love this afternoon.”
“Oh…that’s great. I’m glad things are okay.”
“How are things with Grey, Celine?”
“I’ve been wondering,” Irene smirked. “I’ve seen some heavy things occurring between you two.”
I felt myself blush. “It’s going well, I think. We’re still testing the waters.”
“The waters seem pretty hot.”
“I guess.”
“You’re like completely innocent, right Celine? A total angel?” Mira asked.
“I am literally an angel, yes.” I nodded. “I don’t know anything about sex.”
“Just follow Grey’s lead. He’ll show you how to do everything.”
“You think I should sleep with him?”
“Of course! Right Irene?”
“If he sets your soul on fire the way Paz does mine, then absolutely.” She said.
“I think he does,” I admitted. “I like being with him.”
“That’s so cute! Do you think you’re in love?” Mira asked.
“I don’t know what love is like, so maybe? We’ll see. Irene, how did you know Paz was the one?”
“He didn’t think I was weird for wearing all black and not smiling. He said my frown was stunning. It actually made me smile. Also when he asked me out with a bouquet of black dahlias. They’re my favorite.”
“That’s really sweet.” I smiled. “I want something like that. Someone who understands me completely.”
“Your best friend,” Mira grinned.
“Huh?”
“Everyone says fall in love with your best friend.”
“Oh.” I whispered.
If that was the case then that meant that meant I should fall in love with Enzo right? Even though we were arguing he definitely felt like my best friend.
But I couldn't love him. He was with Mira and he needed to fall in love with her.
My life depended on it.

I was so nervous to talk to my parents.
Lev and I were finally going to tell them about our engagement and I wasn’t sure how they would react. I hoped they would be happy.
“Sela, dear, what are you doing up?” Dad asked as I walked into the library.
“There’s something I have to talk to you about.” I whispered.
“Lev?” Mom questioned. “What’s going on here?”
“I’m in love with Sela,” Lev blurted out. “Deeply and completely in love with her and I want to be with her forever. I’ve asked her to marry me.”
“And I’ve said yes.” I smiled.
“Sela? What-how did you two even have a relationship?” Mom sounded confused.
“A-at night we see each other. Sometimes during the day. Mom, he's the only one who understands me. And you said that I couldn’t ever leave. He’s right here.”
“Sela, you are already arranged to marry another man,” Dad stated. “You know that.”
“But I thought that was because I didn’t have any other options! Now I do! I’m in love!” I cried out.
“You don’t know what love is, Sela!”
“Yes I do! I have it with Lev! We completely love each other. No one gets me the way he does, I swear. I only want to marry him.”
“I promise I will take care of Sela. I will protect her. I love her so much!” Lev insisted.
Mom and Dad exchanged looks. “You have to meet the Prince first.”
“For what?” I asked.
“Just so you know that you choose this man.” Mom said.
“Fine, but I won’t change my mind. I love Lev.”
“Celine!”
My eyes shot open and I was severely confused. I was laying down, but also I didn’t feel anything solid under me.
“What’s going on?” I asked in concern
“Celine,” Mira started. “You’re floating.”
