“Sela, what is the meaning of this?” Lev asked.
“Um…Doran and I were just-”
“We made love today,” Doran informed him.
The hurt in Lev’s eyes crushed my heart. “Sela…how could you?”
“I’m sorry, but I’m supposed to pick between you and…I had to know more about him to make that choice.”
“You said there was no choice! That you loved me and wanted to be with me. That it didn’t matter what he was like and that you and I are soulmates.”
“We are Lev! I love you!” I insisted.
“Lev, you need to realize, I can give Sela things that you cannot.” Doran said softly. “I can give her a life that you can’t.”
“Just because I’m a servant you think I can’t give her what she needs. What she needs is love and understanding. Someone she counts on.”
“She needs protection! She needs someone to show her things she’s never seen before. You cannot do that with your standing. I took her to the beach today! You’ve been with her for months and you haven’t gotten her there.”
“She’s supposed to stay at the castle. You put her in danger going out there!” Lev snapped. “You don’t know what you’re doing with her. You’ve known her one day. Have you even seen her powers? Do you know anything about them?”
“I will have our engagement to get to know my future wife more.” Doran said firmly.
“So you choose him, Sela?”
“No, I haven’t made a decision. But this is a big choice! I’m choosing who I spend the rest of my life with! I have to weigh all my options.”
“And sleep with them too?” Lev sneered.
I had never seen him so upset before. Lev was usually so soft spoken and sweet. But I’m sure me ripping his heart out made him feel very different. Suddenly having to defend his place in my life must have been tearing him apart.
“Lev, please, I love you! But…I have to also be logical about this. There’s more to marriage than just love.” I whispered. “What if you can’t protect me?”
“Because I’m poor?”
“Yes.” Doran answered. “Sela needs a man of nobility. Someone who can hire a hundred men to lay their lives on the line for her.”
“You don’t know Sela at all,” Lev shook his head. “Sela would never let men lay their lives on the line for her. She doesn’t want anyone dying for her. She has a beautiful heart like that. You know nothing about that heart and I do. That’s why she will choose me.”
Lev pulled me to him and kissed me. “I love you Sela. You know that. I would do anything for you…including letting you do whatever you have to do to make this decision. I know I’m the one for you. Come to me when you’re ready.”
Lev smiled before walking off.
“What is wrong with that servant?” Doran asked.
I smiled too. “He’s not a servant, he’s my soulmate.”

“Celine? Wake up babe.”
My eyes fluttered open and I saw Grey standing over me. Looks like laying down turned into a nap.
“Hi,” I smiled.
“Everything okay?”
“Sela is really stuck between two guys.”
“What are the guys like?” Grey asked.
“One is a servant. He’s very sweet and he sets her heart on fire. The other one is a Prince that everyone expects her to be with. He's the obvious choice. Doran is great, but he may never know as much about her as Lev will.” I explained.
“Well, why can’t he learn?”
“Some things can’t be learned, I think.”
Like the way Grey could never know I was an angel and Enzo could.
No! This was not about me! This was about Sela. However when I met her, maybe I could help her choose a man. Just a little angelic help.
“Well, I’m sure she’ll make a real choice at some point.” Grey smiled. “I mean when people are stuck between two people they usually know exactly who they want.”
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“Usually it’s the person they’re trying to convince themselves it can’t work with. They want to go with the easier route. But real love isn’t easy. It’s not supposed to be.”
I just stared at him.
Was that true? And what did that mean for me?
Nothing. I wasn’t stuck between two people. Enzo wasn’t a factor in my love life.
He was just my friend…that I may be attracted to.

“So, how are you feeling about finally meeting Sela?” Pierce questioned.
“A little excited actually. She seems like a wonderful girl and I really want to give her these powers back.”
“I’m sure they’ll be of some help to us on our journey there. It’s a bit far.”
“Good to know.” I nodded.
“How long do you get to stay here on Earth?” Pierce asked.
“After Enzo falls in love with Mira, I get to leave.”
“Oh…well what if he doesn’t fall in love with her?”
“What do you mean? He will.”
“I don’t know about that, Celine. I really don’t think he even loves her.”
“Yes he does…he has to! I heard him say that he loves her.” I said.
“That doesn’t make it true. People lie every day.”
“But Enzo wouldn’t lie about this, I just know it. It’s gonna work out, I just know it.”
“If you say so,” Pierce shrugged. “You know more about Alpha Enzo than I do.”
“I’m gonna go check on him, actually.” I skipped off.
“God Mira you blow everything out of proportion!” Enzo shouted. “What more do you want from me?”
“How about your attention?” She asked. “You are so f*****g unpredictable! One moment you’re making love to me and the next it’s like I don’t even exist, like I’m not on your radar!”
“I have other things to think about, Mira! My brother is trying to kill me!”
“Oh my god, I know Enzo! I’m talking about how you clearly have eyes for-”
“I’m not having this conversation again! I told you you need to stop being so damn insecure. I need a Luna who is confident!”
“I’m trying to but you make it so f*****g hard!”
“This your problem, Mira, you f*****g fix it!” Enzo snapped.
“Screw you Enzo! I’m sleeping somewhere else tonight!” Mira shouted.
“Good I don’t want to be around you when you’re like this!”
The door flung open and Mira stomped out and bumped into me, causing me to fall to the ground.
“Watch where you eavesdrop!” She growled.
Enzo helped me up and pulled me into the room, locking the door.
“What is going on?” I asked. “Why are you fighting like that?”
“I can’t do this anymore, Celine.” Enzo shook his head. “She’s insufferable sometimes!”
“Wait, let’s calm down! You like Mira. Sh-she’s funny and sweet, remember? And very intelligent! And her breasts! Very even!”
“All that s**t doesn’t matter when she’s screaming at me like that. My mom never yelled at my dad…I guess she just cheated on him instead.”
“Enzo…do you actually love Mira.”
“No, Celine.” He answered.
I was taken aback. “What?! Enzo what the heaven is wrong with you? Y-you told her you loved her!”
“I am not the first guy to lie to their girlfriend, let’s calm down!”
“This is more than lying to your girlfriend! My life is on the line! And you lied to me too, Enzo! You told me you were falling in love!”
“I am falling in love, Celine!” He hissed.
“Yeah, with who?” I demanded.
“You! I love you Celine!”
