Chapter 7 - Time To Het Started

"Are you kids alright?" The officer that was obviously in charge had approached them.

"He escaped the institution two days ago. They said he'd been agitated for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, he managed to take one life and injure two others. Would you mind giving statements of anything you've seen or heard?"

They all three agreed and have their account of the strange meeting. Stephen made himself the hero of the story. Val made Evan the brave one. Evan just gave facts.

The ambulance showed up in the middle of their interview. From what Evan heard, the officer that was shot had actually been the one that had found Vincent wandering down the road all those years ago. His life wasn't in any danger, but it was still a relief to see him head towards the hospital. The officers finished up the interviews and stood by their cars, laughing and discussing the reports they'd have to write about this incident.

The sun was dangerously near the horizon as the three friends remembered what they were there for. They hurried into the house. Once inside, Stephen was startled to find that the entire incident had been recorded. It was also being sent to their channel on a live feed. The view count had surpassed 900,000!

"Oh my God, you two…." Stephen was tongue tied. "We're damn near a million views, and we haven't even started the real investigation yet. We are gonna be famous!!"

For once, the excitement was shared between them all. Evan had hoped to up their game, but he never expected this. Val was all smiles as she talked about how her "beauty" would be shared with the world. She laughed at that. She wasn't conceded. She just had an almost self-depreciating sense of humor. It was sad because Evan thought her beautiful. He told her they didn't deserve to see such a lovely sight. She blushed and looked away. She was so shy for someone who seemed so confident.

Stephen decided to get started on hosting the show.
