We've decided to start in the library. We're staying on the ground floor until about 3 a.m., and then we will start with the master bedroom.
The library was through an arch way to the right of the entrance. It seemed there may have been doors at some point, but the opening made for an interesting conversation piece. There weren't any readings yet, but they figured it was a matter of time. Libraries were always haunted in the movies. The Ghostbusters may have been on to something.
There was quite a collection of books in there. None had been seen in at least twenty years. Evan remarked on how those dust covers were "really doing their job." Stephen had lit a candle and set it up on a table in the middle of the room. The light flickering off of the cobwebs and dusty books had the exact effect he had hoped for. It was straight out of a horror film. Evan checked a couple of titles. Pride and Prejudice. The Count Of Monte Cristo. Both were first editions!
"These books are amazing! I'm gonna ask Miss Watson if I can have these two."
Evan was really excited about the books. Stephen just rolled his eyes and continued his monologue.
"While my partner investigates the Dewey Decimal System, I'm going to get some readings. No pun intended. I'm not seeing any major temperature changes with my thermometer. No sounds or evidence of any spirits this far. To be honest, not much is known about this house. I'm not sure if the truth is hidden or lost to time. Maybe there's something in this library that can shed some light on the mystery. Maybe there's a spirit that can lead us to the truth."
Evan was checking around with his flashlight when he noticed something out of place. He wasn't sure he was right, at first, but once he verified his find, he called Stephen over to check it out.
"We hoped the library would have shed some light on things, but now we have a new mystery.." He turned the camera toward a table. There, in the blanket of dust, was a book-shaped silhouette.
"It would appear as if there had been a book on the table that had to have been removed sometime recently. The house was locked up tight, but there's no way to doubt the evidence. What could've happened to this book?"
