Chapter 3: Danger in small town

The next day Jacob and I woke up and Raya and Chase were still asleep, Jacob looked at me, and he smiled, then looked at me, he had this face of concern and I realized we talked about how we will get the territory just him and I but never with Chase and Raya. I looked at him and gave him a comforting look so he knew that I would look for a solution.

“Jacob, I know that you don’t keep anything from them, but I implore you that you keep my identity quiet, I just don’t want them to find out yet okay?” I asked.

“You know the longer you keep this quiet the worse it will get for both of us, especially for Raya since she thinks she has the right to know about everything.” Jacob said.

“I’m fully aware of that but let’s be honest it’s not really any of her business. Anyway, I hope the motel we are going has rooms for us, last time I was there it was such a lovely place to stay, especially the forest out back, and their breakfast was to die for.” I spoke.

“So, you know the territory? Is it safe for us to be you ourselves?” Jacob asked when we heard Chase groan.

“Well, it’s more like a non-territorial land, town. There’s no packs there, its unclaimed. Plus, that land doesn’t really have any resources we would need as a pack. I mean we could develop it into a resourceful land, but, it seems unnecessary, since there are not many packs and most packs have all the wolves together well except rouges, they are more lone wolves who travel just want to inflict chaos or disturbance on other packs.” I spoke.

“So, they are all humans? We can’t shift??” Jacob asked.

“We could shift humans don’t really go too deep into the woods, especially because of bears and well they are more like one with nature type of people, so they won’t harm any animals unless they deem it absolutely necessary.” I said as both Chase and Raya started waking up.

“So do you know anyone there personally? Like a friend or family?” Jacob asked.

*chuckle* “No I don’t know anyone there personally, I stumbled there by accident, See when I was running away I kind of made a wrong turn somewhere and I ended up there. Obviously, I didn’t want to turn back especially because of my uncle. He was the main reason I couldn’t ever go back but now it’s different I’m ready to go back. “I said.

“So what time are we going to head out to that town?” Jacob said.

“In thirty minutes how about, we leave I just want to rest for a bit before heading out.” I spoke.

“Sure thing.” They all said in unison.

For some reason, I felt tired that I drifted of to sleep so quickly, Kailee spoke to me through my dreams *Kailee* Sel you shouldn’t shift, we should be careful I don’t know why but I have a feeling, tap into our super speed in human form. *Me* but they don’t know about that, I don’t want them to find out. *Kailee* just enough to kind of keep with them remember as werewolves we have speed not fast as when we run in our wolf form but still fast. Just keep up with them not faster than them but fast enough to not give away our secret. * Me * Okay can you talk to the moon goddess and ask her why we should shift… because I'll need to shift regardless if we pass through my uncles’ territory. Or to defend ourselves. *Kailee* ill try you know that the moon goddess is busy watching over all of her children. Plus, Sels wake up your 30 min are up. * I jolted awake; I saw that everyone seemed to be finish getting ready to leave. I got up and asked if they are ready to leave and they all said yes. They shifted to their wolf form. And wait for me to shift, I told them that I'll be running in human form behind them that I tell them where to go, they lowly growled questioning my unwilling shift, but they nodded their heads and started running Jacob then mind linked me asking me what that was about.

“Kailee spoke to me in my sleep to not shift I don’t know why but I do know that whatever the reason is I won’t go against her advice.” I answered.

“Oh, alright honey, so then is everything is, okay?” Jacob replied worried in his voice.

“Yes, everything else seems okay, just haven’t ran in my human form in a while so you know out of practice. Its actually funny this isn’t my speed in human form, I’m just running slow, so they don’t find out.” I spoke.

“How fast can you run?” Jacob asked surprised.

“Lets just say that the being there in 6 hours is more like you guys speed, I can do it 4½ and in wolf form 2½.” I gloated smirking.

Jacob growled seductively, and I growled back seductively.

“TURN RIGHT, HERE!” I yelled.

They turned right, we kept running until we had to turn again and again until we arrived by nightfall. When we arrived at the motel, we checked in. They gave us dinner. It was delicious. We went to our separate rooms. Jacob went to shower, while I04 sat in a chair there when Kailee suddenly started jumping with joy in the back of my mind which had me smiling. * Me* why are you joyous for? * Kailee* I have wonderful news! *Me* what is it? *Kailee* we are expecting a pup, it’s a few weeks old, that’s why I had a strange feeling of being protective. * Me* Oh my Goddess this is amazing, I can’t wait to tell Jacob. *Kailee* he is going to be so excited. * Me* I know he is I wonder if his wolf is hinting him something. * Kailee* he is asking me but I’m waiting for you to tell him.

“Honey, Zeus is being annoying as hell in my head, keep pestering me to talk to you. So could you calm him down?” Jacob said holding his head.

“There is a reason for that, Zeus feels something, different. And well its me. We are expecting honey.” I said excited smiling.

Jacob just stood there frozen I can sense Zeus howling in his head, but Jacob was frozen, I started to get scared, so I shook him, when he came to his senses he started to smile, slowly he started to react about the news he hugged me tightly and spun me around with a kiss.

“Honey, this is an amazing news! When did you find out? Are you sure? Are you okay?” Jacobs threw questions left and right that I had to place my hand on his arm to calm him down.

“I found out just before you came out of the bathroom, my wolf had a suspension. Something was happening because she didn’t want me to shift. Well, she had to go ask the moon goddess why the suspension.” I answered.

“Wow, this is amazing news I don’t think I'll be able to sleep tonight from this excitement.” Jacob exclaimed.

“I’m happy that you are excited, but I need to rest. Goodnight”, I chuckled and gave him a kiss.

The next morning, I got up took a shower and saw Jacob still sleeping, so I headed towards the lobby, so I could have breakfast. I realized that it was very quiet, too quiet actually, and when I got to the lobby, I saw that Chase was there knocking on the lobby door, but no one opened the door or even answered. When I tried to knock again, I saw someone peek up from behind the counter.

“Excuse Ms. I see you there behind the counter, can you please let us in. We are awfully hungry, and we need to check out soon as well.” I said through the door.

“I’m sorry Ms. But as of a couple of months ago, we don’t serve breakfast, please go back to your rooms and stay inside. It's not safe outside right now, quickly before it comes…” she said barely in a whisper.

“Ma’am, what’s wrong? Who’s coming?” I said a bit worried.

The lady opened the door slightly and pulled us in quickly and locked the door just as fast. Chase and I looked at her with shocked eyes, stunned of what just happened. She looked at us with furrowed brows. She first peeked through the window, she let out a sigh of relief.

“Mrs. and Mr. I'm sorry about that. It's just we have been having a big bear problem. I mean we don’t get bothered by them, but it has been attacking and its always in the morning. The problem is we decided it might be time to put the poor animal down, but for some reason the bear can’t be hurt and it's too smart for us to capture it and kill it. So- “The lady was saying until she saw the clock and stopped talking.

We looked at the direction of the window and peeked through. When we saw through the window what we saw wasn’t a bear, it may have looked like one but its not. It’s a werewolf but one that is beyond rogue one that has become more wolf that human. Chase and I looked at each other, his thoughts were of worry and I tried to calm him down. I turned to the lady who has a rosery in her and is prying to her God. I felt sorry for them, they don’t know what they are dealing with, and their sweet nature doesn’t let them go to far as to hunt this animal down.

“Ma’am would it be okay with everyone in town if we dealt with the bear?” I spoke.

“Mrs. Selene, we won’t have any issues with it, but we don’t want you getting hurt, this is a different type of bear. Its cunning. We’ve tried everything to make it move away, but it won’t and he is very dangerous. We don’t want to kill it unless we must.” The lady of the reception said.

“We promise to be careful, and we will not hurt him. We will just move him to another location. I do want to ask that nobody leaves their rooms or houses until I say it is safe”, I said.

“Well alright. If it stops this frightening experience, we have every day. Then I say why not. I'll notify everyone. Give me one hour and everyone will be notified.” The lady of the reception said.

“We will be getting ready until then,” I said.

Chase and I were walking back to our rooms, but Chase was having a dilemma about whether to tell me off or to tell me that what I did was the right thing to do. I chuckled internally decided but I let him be until he decided what thought he will go with. I knocked into Raya’s room to let her know that we have to deal with this wolf who is terrorizing this town. To be ready in an hour. After that l walked back to my room to let Jacob know about the wolf terrorizing the town and we will be going to do Something for them in an hour.

“I’m proud of you wanting to help, but Shouldn’t we rest and getting ready to leave soon?” said Jacob.

“Thank you for that honey, and yes but the wolf, he is a rogue, but beyond help, he needs to be killed. We don’t have another choice. He could end up killing all the town and as future Alpha of the purest bloodline I can’t let him be free or alive. My family will have my head.” I said.

“But honey, how are you going to do this, you’re pregnant?” Jacob asked her concerned for her and their pup.

“I know, but if I don’t shift, our pup will be fine. In the meantime, I don’t want chase or Raya to find out about our pup.” I urged him.

“Sels, how am I supposed to protect you and our pup if it’s only me. We need a pack to protect each other.” Jacob said.

“I’m able to do this without shifting, like I said yesterday love. I’m not just a normal alpha. I'm a pureblood alpha, meaning I am much, much stronger, plus it takes training and practice and I have both. Even after I ran away, I kept my training, even after living with you guys, I have trained.” Proudness pouring out of me.

“So how does one train? Or what do you mean?” Jacob asked.

“We start when we are pups, like 4 or 5 maybe. I started pretty young I was 3 ½. I was pretty strong for a pup and well my parents didn’t want to waste such a talent so off to training I went. In human form I fought a lot with the other pups. Mainly because alpha pups are really energetic, anyway it was expected I won every time and well with time I got better and because the first to accomplish all of the fighting techniques at age 10 and well I had to wait until I was 16 to get my wolf so I can train with her and basically become one, by the way, Kailee wanted to let you know that she is happy you chose us to be your mate.” I looked at the time and saw that we had to start heading down to get rid of this rogue. “Honey we have to go.” We left the and met with Raya and Chase. Both Raya and Chase were waiting at the lobby talking strategy. Raya looked at me and sighed chase saw and did a low growl at her. She responded but realized it was in vain. I nodded to chase mind linked him to lets go he understood and started walking we headed towards to the rogue.
