Prawyers in the Night

This is my story. I was an addict for over 30 years and I hope to reach my target audience of addicts the mothers the fathers, sisters, brothers, cousins, any relatives that suffer from their addicted sons, daughters, boyfriends, girlfriends etc, etc! They suffer as they watch theirs little boys and girls that are addicts or addicted to whatever is their D.O.C drug of choice!! And the mothers and fathers that are still suffering in the night saying their prayers for their loved ones who are addicted to drugs alcohol, s*x, porn, relationships, whatever the D.O.C is I was addicted to it!!! Believe me when I say I had to write this book to try and reach out to the still-suffering addict that is hanging out in the shadows of dark alleyways or on the street corners trying to get "their" next " fix". In writing my story as it has evolved into many different-headed beasts! I offer you my personal story so that I may just might, get into the hearts and minds of the addict persona and maybe heal them or the mothers and fathers, or any other person connected to this horrible state of being!!!! From the start the "addict" is not a bad person he or she is not broken or a bad person they are suffering from a Dis-Ease is how I like to refer to it because they are in a perpetual uneasy feeling of either inadequacy or shame-based feelings! For me, my addiction was very shameful based and in shameful feelings to this day, I feel shame as it was introduced to me through abuse whether it be s****l in nature or violence or verbal abuse. That is not to say that all addicts are or have been abused but in my case that was my reality!! And I carried the weight of my abusers for over 30 years I am now writing my story as I said before hopefully, I can touch some of the addicts' lives or the families' lives that have been all but torn apart by addiction!!! This is my story......... Addiction is defined by Wikipedia: is a biopsychosocial disorder characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli despite adverse consequences. or: Patterns associated with addictions are typically characterized by immediate gratification ( short-term reward), coupled with the delayed deleterious effects ( long-termed costs)!!
