CHAPTER 5 ONE WITH NATURE

AMARANTH'S POV

"She is awaken, she finally met her fated. The prophecy is activated. Your great granddaughter is every bit as powerful as you said she would be, but she is still too afraid to tap on those powers." My informant let's me know. He has been keeping a close eye on my great-granddaughter Everly since she was born. That is how we were able to save her from death when she was just a child and her parents died. She hasn't made it easy, but we tried. We have been waiting for this moment.

"Her connection to nature is proof that she is connecting, is just very subtle, and she doesn't know it yet. Keep checking on her, Arnold's pack will make a move as soon as they know she is awake." The Two Ponds pack have been after my great grand daughter since they learnt about the prophecy. They knew one day she would kill their rulers and avenge us, taking her place as the guardian. They have been hidden, and some even blended with other packs taking high-ranking positions just to be alerted when the time comes, but she will be ready. I will make sure of that.

"Ma'm, how are you going to introduce yourself. She is going to have questions, she has thought she was cursed her woile life. When she finds out that you knew what was happening and didn't offer a safe harbor, she is going to reject you." My trusted advisor worries too much. I couldn't bring Everly with me because he fate was to find her mate amongst the werewolves, not with the fairies. In time, I will have that conversation with her, and let's just hope, she is the forgiving type.

"Oh Tobias, she will understand. She is a smart girl. Now let's prepare everything for her arrival. According to my calculations, her and her mate should be here in 6 Moon cycles. The other guardians need to be ready to welcome her, and we need to prepare the army. Warn the rest of the realm, all the fairies should join in. They will need all the help they can get.

ANDREW'S POV

I ran for an hour trying to find her, but it was useless. My wolf could feel her, but at the same time, she was blocking me. Is not common to connect like this without being mated, but I think with her being the wolf from the prophecy and me being of Alpha blood, our connection is strong.

"Colt needs us. We can't be here long. She obviously doesn't want to be found." I tell my wolf who has been whining about being with our mate.

"We can't leave without her, Colt will understand." He keeps insisting. We have been everywhere and now we are back to the pack house

"There is no time. If Alexia is not doing well, Colt must be about to lose it. We need to get there before he kills someone!" Colt is fair and cares about his pack, but he can be very irrational if his mate is in danger.

"You need to leave before she kills you." I turn around towards the voice, and I see a petite brunette coming from some bushes that make the way to the forest.

My need to defend myself and my mate kicks in, and in an instant, I have her pinned to the closest wall holding her her by the neck.

"Is that a threat? Are you trying to tell me you are going to attempt against my mate or me?" I know my wolf is fighting for control, and our voice talks in unison.

"I didn't mean that, Alpha." The girl tells me in barely a whisper, trying to breathe since I am almost blocking her airway. "Everything around her dies. We all thought she was cursed. Now, knowing how her wolf changed, the attacks make more sense. Shay is dead because of her, and she will do the same to you if you don't reject her." The small girl keeps saying between gasps.

"Let her go!" I hear a commanding voice yell at me. I don't need to turn around, I know is her, my mate. I remove my arm, and the girl falls to the ground, holding her throat, gasping for air.

"Ellie, are you alright? Did he hurt you?" My mate immediately goes to the girl. Trying to nurture her and comfort her. She is looking at me with anger.

"Should we be afraid that she is the white wolf and she could kill us with with her look?" My wolf asks, kind of joking, kind of serious.

"We don't know what her powers are yet. So far is all theories, plus she's our mate, I'm pretty sure we are immune." I respond.

"Stop it! don't touch me. I don't want to end up dead!" The girl, Ellie, tells my mate, pushing her away and getting up. She comes towards me, clearly upset." Don't say I didn't warn you. her first mate died because of her, and now she is going to do the same to you!" She turns around and runs to the forest really fast.

"You need to leave. I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt. maybe everything that is said about your pack and you is a lie, things people made up, but after what I just saw, is obvious that is true." Her determined stare actually gives me chills. Nobody has ever dared to talk to me like that, it is very appealing.

"I am not leaving without talking to you first. That girl came to warn me that you would kill me! of course, I snapped. I took it as a threat to me or to you and believe me, " I tell her, approaching her carefully until I have her caged against the wall. " Nobody will ever hurt you because I will kill anyone who dares to even threaten you." She is now looking at me with confusion. I am eager to touch her. I can see the reflexion of the Moon in her beautiful blue eyes.

"She is perfect! I can't wait to start putting our pups inside her." The horny mutt states.

"Silly wolf, for us to do that, she would have to accept us, and so far, she doesn't like us." I reply.

"Her wolf wants us. We can't mindlink, but we can connect, and I can feel she wants us." Lucky bastard.

"She is not wrong." My mate finally speaks, looking sad, and I move back to give her some space. "Everything I have ever loved, dies. My parents, people who have tried to be close to me, my mate, even several members of this pack. All dead because of me. Because of what I am!" She says with tears in her eyes.

"I don't even know you, but I have waited for you my whole life, even if that meant my death." I tell her honestly. Just for the pleasure of being with her, this innocent looking woman, that I am sure is stronger than me. She is meant for something far greater than she thinks, but she doesn't want to admit it. I move my hand briefly to touch her face, I immediately feel the sparks of the bond and allow myself to close my eyes for a moment, inhaling her scent, I open them just enough to see that she is doing the same, I smile just for a moment, until she realizes what's happening and she turns serious, so I remove my hand.

"You don't know what you are saying. Being with me will not only put you at risk but will also be giving up the possibility of having children. I am sure you want a family with children watching them run and chase after them. You could never have that with me." That's not possible. I am not concerned about the first part. Being a Beta of one of the strongest packs in the country puts me at risk every day, but she said we couldn't have pups. Wolves don't have issues conceiving.That is why we are such a big population, and there are several packs around the world. Cases of infertility are rare.

"I want her, no matter what, I want her. We can figure out having children later. This is our mate. The Moon Goddess doesn't make mistakes. There is a reason she paired us." My wolf tells me, and for a beast, he sounds very smart.

"Reject me, Mr. Hawthorn. If you care about me like you say, you will do the honorable thing and let me go." Her words stab my heart.
