Trapped

Kala   I feel eyes on me, cold, dark, sinister, the pounding in my head pounds to the beat of a drum, darkness still clouds my vision, in the dark, shivers move across my entire being, where am I? What happened? Then it all came flooding back, the dark figure, the voice, the realisation dawned on me, bile rose up my throat as I tried to swallow it back down, I just kept thinking why me repeatedly, then I heard a scuttling. Oh my god! It had better not be a f*****g rat.   But of course, it was worse than a rat.   “Welcome back to the land of the living” an unknown voice dramatically spoke.   Was I supposed to respond? It felt like the blind leading the blind, well I had no use of my eyes, I had thought it was just dark but clearly my eyes were bound which was humorous at best, I’d already seen my tormentor, got to say coming face to face with my tormentor even I was shocked, never in my wildest, well maybe my wildest but definitely not my normal dreams would I have guessed who it was, but the question that was still niggling at me was, why?   “I’m not sure if my actions said it well enough” I could feel eyes on me, I couldn’t see but they burned through me, coursing over every silent moment through the darkness.   “But I really, really like you”   Oh, sure that made perfect sense, because we all kidnap those we really, really like, I was glad for the blindfold otherwise it may anger my stalker to see me role my eyes that far back into my head I was sure they hit my skull.   “Not feeling talkative. No matter we have all the time in the world”   God, I hoped not, I didn’t want to be stuck with this creep forever but what choice did I have? Nobody knew where I was or even who took me, nobody was coming to save me, it was just me and the psycho stalker who apparently really, really liked me, wasn’t I the lucky one.   “Did you bring me here to die?” I finally spoke.   “Obviously”   “I can’t tell if you’re been sarcastic or not”   “I tell you that I like you and you think that means I want to kill you, tell me how many people have you murdered that you like?”   “People don’t kidnap people they like” I scowled.   “Yeah, because they lack imagination”   What? What was he talking about? A lack of imagination, he had f*****g lost the plot but for now I was not going to die, I was going to count that as a win.   “Why is it dark?”   “Ah because I don’t want to ruin the surprise”   “I’ve already seen you”   “You can’t even go unconscious right” he gritted back.   “Sorry to disappoint” I rolled my eyes.   The blanket of darkness was slowly removed as the dim light poured into my vision, squinting trying to regain focus and taking in my surroundings, I could see those big brown eyes staring back at me.   “Why?”   “I told you- “   “No, no you didn’t, please tell me why”   “Why not” he shrugged.   “What’s the plan keep me here forever as your prisoner?”   “You will willingly stay with me”   “I will not!”   “Not really in a position to be disagreeing now are you Kala”   Well, he had me there, bound to what can only be described as a pipe, trapped like a rat, I had nothing left but my dignity, I would never agree to stay with him, not willingly, hell would freeze over before that ever happened.   “I don’t want you”   “Oh, I know exactly who you want”   “You see I’ve been watching you two for awhile, such a shame it had to come to an end”   “What do you mean?”   “That’s precious, you don’t know do you?”   “Know what?”   He let out a loud roar of laughter as he theatrically jumped up and down clapping his hands together like a mad man, did he realise how insane he looked? Probably not.   Sitting on the wooden chair in front of me with his handgun hanging between his legs he swung his deadly friend backward and forwards with a sinister smile playing on his lips.   “Did your knight in shining armour divulge any information about Lily?”   “The crazy girl, yes” I smiled.   “Crazy? That’s what he told you did he”   “Well, is she not?”   “Define crazy, some may say crazy, I prefer passionate”   “How do you know Lily?”   “Tut, Tut, Kala, so curious”   I was growing tired of these games, why couldn’t I have been kidnapped by someone less obsessed with me, I’d probably be dead by now, but dead would be preferable to this torment that he seemed to like to drag on.   “Lily is safely back in Rykers arms right where he belongs”   I knew he could see the shock on my face because he smiled at the effect his nasty words had on me, it was clear he was enjoying this.   “You’re lying” I almost whispered.   “Really? Am I now? Where is he then?”   “I – I don’t know” I stammered.   “So, you see Kala I’m all you’ve got” I grimaced.   The very thought made me slink back; cold shivers ran over my soul.   “Think I’d rather die” I spat back.   “That can be arranged” he sinisterly spoke.
