Chapter 16. True Identity.

He couldn't take it any longer, he had stayed away from Sunshine for way to long, he couldn't fight the urge any longer. Violating Reed's orders, he went to see Sunshine.
Reading a novel at her flower stand, she was interrupted as the ray of light was blocked by a tall statue, she looked up and her face lit up with a mixture of joy and anger.
“Where have you been?”, she demanded. Even at her anger state she still looked cute. Alex couldn't help but smile at her adorable face.
“What's funny, com'on I'm not messing around, you ghosted me for almost four months now and suddenly you show up and expect me to be happy?”
Alex just smiled a deep genuine smile and apologised, “I'm sorry my sunflower, I just had an emergency, my grandmother was ill so I had to take care of her, she got worse so I had to fly her to England to be with my parents, at least there she'll have the best doctors to take care of her”.
Her cute little angry face, fell into a concerned and worried one. “oh my goodness, I'm so sorry, I had no idea, how's she doing now?, Are you hearing from her?”
“She's alright, don't worry about that okay... tell me how've you been, what has been happening?”.
“Well nothing exciting actually, just same regular activities that I do..., visited my parents, a week ago and they're alright”.
They talked, it always feels like they are getting to know themselves all over again whenever they are talking, they are never short of words or something to talk about, they are both very conversational. But unknowingly to them, they were being watched. Not by Reed nor Kia or any member of his gang but by someone who nurtured immense hatred for him. Some weeks back, Alex killed some people and part of them was Elisha, The father of Ethan, Frank and Mike. It was Reed's order actually, but the boys didn't want to know who's order it was, all they know and what they saw is Alex pulling the trigger at their father, they couldn't do anything about it because they were held, and pinned to the floor forcefully, they just watched their father take his last breathe.
They couldn't do anything about it then, but now they've acquired some resources and want to take revenge on Alex, and from what they've learnt and understand, they know that Alex has been seeing this girl, so they definitely know it will hurt him dearly if they go after her.
A week later, Sunshine was coming back from the grocery store in the evening, when suddenly she was dragged into a van, she tried struggling and calling for help but her mouth was covered.
She was beaten and held hostage. “What do you want from me? I don't have any money, I can't give you anything” , she cried.
“Oh... we don't have any problem with you baby doll, we have a problem with your boyfriend, Alex Vega, and you're just here because we need him to come, then he'll pay for his sins” . Ethan said as he paced around.
“If he owes you money or something, w-we can figure something out, I'll even help out, he's just trying, h-he recently just paid for his grandmother's treatment so please don't do this”. She said innocently.
The three of them looked at each other and burst into laughter. “It's either your loving boyfriend lied to you or... you don't know him”. Mike said still trying to catch his breath.
“W-what do you mean” , she said as her heart raced.
“Listen up Lady, you're hear because your boyfriend killed our father, he murdered him without blinking twice, he's a murderer and were simply just taking justice for our old man”.
“N-no , you're mistaken, Y-you probably are mistaking him for someone else”. she said as she couldn't believe her ears and a tears rolled down her cheeks.
“Argh, enough talking, you don't believe us fine... but just you wait and see, when he comes here, you'll see for yourself what kind of monster he is.”
Shortly after, a chilling video arrived at Alex's doorstep, showing Sunshine's battered face, her eyes pleading for help. The message was clear: "It's payback time."
Alex's fury ignited, and he transformed into the brutal force he had kept hidden from Sunshine. Without hesitation, he tracked he tracked them. Peeping, through the broken window, he saw them, Frank, Ethan and Mike, he recognised them immediately and this made him more upset.
Walking in, he started spraying bullets all over, this made the brothers scattered around to hide, leaving Sunshine alone in the field of spraying bullets. With his skilled technique, he got Mike and Frank. Seeing his brothers drop dead, Ethan couldn't control himself, he left his hiding spot, ran out with a shout and just sprayed bullets everywhere.
Some bullets actually got Alex, his left leg, right arm and grazed the side of him stomach, but all that didn't stop him, he fought on driven by primal urge to protect Sunshine.
He managed to shoot Ethan on the thigh, and unfortunately for Ethan, he was out of bullets, so he just dragged himself to the corner of the room and waited for his demise. Alex Limped to the train of blood Ethan left, seeing him lying down there, hopeless made Alex happy that he has finished them off finally. But Ethan started laughing, “You won Alex, you've finished us off but we actually did accomplish something, your beloved girlfriend now knows who you truly are”. Alex eyes opened as he realised what he's done. Ethan kept on laughing as he saw the expression on Alex's face. An expression mixed with regret and confusion. Alex got tired of him laughing, and put a bullet through his heart.
He limped back to her and untied her, Sunshine beheld a demon, a terrifying figure with eyes blazing like embers. Alex's true nature, once concealed, now stood exposed. Sunshine trembled, her mind reeling from the c*****e she had witnessed.
In that moment, Alex realized that his darkness had not only consumed him but also threatened to destroy the one person he loved. The weight of his secrets and the horror of his actions hung in the balance, as Sunshine's fear and uncertainty lingered, a poignant reminder of the devastating consequences of his choices.
He lost alot of blood and before he knew it, he fainted.
