We both were still laying down him still working and I was just scrolling through my phone. I thought maybe coming here will cure my boredom but it just had made it worst.
I looked over to see him his face still glued to the screen doing who knows what.
"I am bored!" I announced. He didn't even look over he just rolled his eyes and started working again.
"Hey, I am bored," This time I slapped his hand getting him to look over at me. He glared at me. "Then go find something to do," he said slapping my hand away that was still resting on his arm.
"I can't your parents are working downstairs and they don't want me to help," I told him. "That's not my problem," he said.
"You know most husbands never keep their wifes bored," I said rolling my eyes.
"Well, this husband doesn't care," he said this time actually facing me.
"Urg you seriously suck," I said looking around the room.
He turned back to his screen and I just stayed there watching him do his work. It was the only source of entertainment I had at this point.
"You know since I can't help downstairs, I can maybe help you," I said getting this brilliant idea to cure my boredom. But he didn't think so.
"No, I don't need your help leave me alone," he said.
"Please, I can help you write your emails or even proofread your work maybe I can give you a neck message anything you need,"
"I don't need anything from you just leave me to work,"
"Oh come on, I'll at least give you a massage," I said getting up and making my way to sit behind him but instead he grabbed my hand pushing me down on the bed and hovering on top of me.
My eyes widen as I stared at him. How the heck did this happen?
I waited for him to say something anything but all he did was stares at me.
"El, did you want-," Adam's mom barged into the room we both averted our eyes to see her staring at us. We suddenly realized what position we were. And got away from eachother so fast that even if you just blinked you would have missed it. I stood there awkwardly as Adam's mother giggled at us.
"Maybe I'll come back later,"
"NO,"
"NO"
Adam and I yelled in unison.
"What is it, Mrs. Wilson?" I asked walking to her standing in front of her.
Desperately wanting to relive the tension and awkwardness I was feeling right now.
"I was just going to ask if Elena wanted to get ready now since the makeup artist is already here?" She asked and I immediately said yes wanting to get out of the room and away from Adam.
-
I looked at my self in the mirror and how beautiful the dress was and how perfect my hair looked and the way my makeup was just enough.
For the first time, I actually felt beautiful.
"You look beautiful," Mrs. Wilson said coming up behind me. I smiled at her. "Adam will definitely won't be able to take his eyes off of you," I giggled at her.
"I hope so. He actually had the dress made for me," I told her. She smiled at me "Then he must really love you," she said placing her hand on my shoulder. I titled my head a little confused. "What makes you say that?" I asked.
"When he has something made for someone it's always special because he loves you so much that he can't give you something that other people also may have. It has to be unique and special because you are unique and special to him and there is only one of you in the world," I was surprised at what she had said. I didn't think Adam is sentimental. I also didn't know he cared.
"Wow he definitely is sweet," I said. She nodded her head.
"Well now let's go downstairs everyone is here,"
We made our way down the stairs to see a crowd of people talking to eachother. I scanned to room for Adam but I couldn't find him anywhere.
I stayed at the side of his parents till I could find him.
People started coming up to me talking like we have been friends for years. But I didn't mind since I wasn't alone.
"Oh my gosh, El! How are you?" Adam's sister Sarah asked hugging me so tightly.
"Sarah I can't breath," I said tapping her back in mercy.
"Oh sorry but I am so happy to see you," she said finally letting me go.
Sarah was the sweetest person you could meet. I loved her so much and she was also, one of the only one apart from Kathy who knew the truth about Adam and me. She had supported me and been with me throughout everything and she to hated spencer for ruining Adam's life.
"I missed you too," I told her.
Sarah loved to travel the world and help out countries that don't have much. She helped build schools and hospitals in third world countries because that's what she loved doing. But it also means she is never home.
"I know what you do is great but can't you be home more often than once every year?" I said.
"Well, my beautiful sister in law I have a surprise for you! I am home for 3 months this time,"
My face lightens and I started jumping up and down.
"Yeahhhh," I yelled hugging her.
"Elena," the angry tone Adam yelling at me was very clear and I let her go turning to see my furious husband staring at me.
"Big bro," Sarah hugs him before he could start yelling at me for being loud. They were both very close. But fought all the time. At some point, it gets so annoying that you just want to rip their heads off. But Adam was very protective of Sarah and even if they fought they always had each other's backs.
"Did you miss me? I sure did miss you," she declared with the tone of sarcasm vivid in her voice.
"Shut up Sarah," he rolled his eyes turning and casted his delicate eyes at me.
"El-," he began stopping after taking a good look at me properly. He scanned me up and down for a solid minute. I shifted uncomfortably.
"Damn bro close your mouth a fly might fly into it,"
He closed his mouth glaring at Sarah who laughed and shrugged her shoulder. I too giggled at how annoyed he looked.
"Uh, I need you to come with me. I want you to meet some people,"
I nodded my head and he reached his hand for me take it and I did. Walking alongside to him we came to stop.
"Mr. Jenson and Mrs. Jenson, how are you?"
They turned there head to stare at us and smiled brightly at Adam.
"Very well Mr. Wilson. How are you?" They asked.
"Good. This is my wife Elena Wilson,"
They looked over at me and smiled at me.
"Hello," I said reaching my hand for a handshake and they happily took my hand.
"You have a very beautiful wife Adam," Mrs. Jensen said placing her hand on my cheek.
"Oh I know she is one of a kind," he wrapped his hand around my waist and pulled me closer.
"Now well where is Nick," he asked scanning around the room.
"He should be around her-,"
"I heard my name,"
Whom I assumed was Nick interrupted Mr. Jensen walking to stand next to them.
"oh here you are the light of my life," Mr. Jensen said as he slapped his back. "Oh dad stop your making blush," he covered his face pretending he was embarrassed as his father laughed.
Nick was handsome with his sharp jawline and intense grey eyes. He was nothing compared to Adam but he was pretty attractive. Someone Kathy would definitely like.
"Who is this beautiful and gorgeous woman," his eyes averted to look at me. I moved closer to Adam not really liking the way he was staring at me. Adam's grip on my waist got tighter.
"This is my wife," Adam said.
"Oh my I knew you were married but never knew to the most beautiful women in the world," he said still looking at me. "Hello, I am Nick," he said reaching his hand for me to shake and I did. "Elena," I told him my name.
"Well, Elena do you care to dance," he asked my hand still in his hold. I looked up to see Adam in a way waiting for his approval. he nodded his head.
"Sure," I said as he separated me from Adam and brought me to the dance floor.
His hands made its way to my waist and mine around his neck. We both danced quietly at the low music that was playing. and for a minute I actually enjoyed dancing with him. It was oddly comforting.
"So how is it being married to Mr. I work too much and am an asshole," I chuckled at what he called Adam.
"Oh, it's exhausting,"
he laughed at that.
I looked down at the movement of our feet dancing to the music. I loved the silence in the room and the way everyone enjoyed just dancing with there partners. I looked over to see Adam dancing with some blonde girl that looked like she came straight out of a magazine. They laughed and his hold on her was seductive.
I sighed quietly.
I was sure he wasn't coming home tonight. Everyone else was to busy to notice that I wasn't with Adam and with Nick or the way Adam was flirting with another women.
As I danced with Nick it made me realize that it didn't matter who I danced with he would never care and I also didn't care. It honestly didn't bother me at all. I have lived in a fake marriage for 2 years I have gotten used to all of it.
This is my normal.
I saw him drag the girl upstairs as she laughed and kept kissing his neck. His hand was on her a** when they both disappeared into a room.
"Your happy with him," the sudden voice made me jolt back to reality and I looked at Nick staring at where I just was.
He just saw the whole thing.
