You Left Me Scared On The Cold Bed

1217 Words
Lorenzo's POV I sighed heavily as I strolled through the garden. Five years had passed, but I could not find Felicia at all. Every day, every second, I had cursed myself for not giving enough to find out my mate. As I returned to the mansion, I spotted a woman, calling out if someone was available. I knew that voice. It was Felicia's voice. Like a dry land would get revived after receiving the rainfall, my heart revived too. I strode toward her, ready to embrace Felicia in my arms. What was more surprising to me was a little girl in Felicia's arms. Instantly, I felt the connection between me and the girl. "My daughter!" I pronounced in a low voice and embraced the two of them in a warm hug. Felicia struggled in my arms and tried to push me away. “Who are you?” she asked. “I am the man who is the father of our daughter,” I let go of her and said. “Excuse me!?” Felicia remarked. “And please do not joke around in front of my little girl,” she said and took a step back, covering Felina's ears, not wanting her to hear all such ridiculous things from a man whom they barely knew. I understood her actions. She was trying to protect our daughter from bad things, but I was her father who would only love her. "I want to see the alpha here. My daughter needs a blessing ritual. She has been sick from the time of her birth," Felicia requested with a desperate sound. "You must have some misunderstanding about me," she murmured. I got worried to hear that my daughter was sick and did not even have her ritual done. I realized that Felicia didn't believe me, but it wasn't the time to convince her about my real identity. "I am the Alpha King, Lorenzo Alvarez. Please follow me inside. I will bless my daughter," I said and invited her in. Felicia was bewildered to hear 'my daughter' from me for Felina, but she didn't argue about it. It wasn't the right time for it. She quickly walked into the palace with me. The palace might look old from the outside but the interior was so vibrant and beautiful that it truly looked like a palace. I could tell by the awe of her face that she was fascinated by its beauty. I rested my hand on her back, but she didn't hate that touch, making me feel relieved."Are you really the Alpha King?" she asked to confirm again. "Yes, I am." I looked at Felina, who was sleeping peacefully in Felicia's arms. Just like Felicia, I too, had a lot of questions in my mind. But my priority currently was to treat my daughter. We finally reached a large lavish bedroom in the palace. "Lay her down," I humbly said. Felicia opened the belt around herself when I helped her out. "Thank you." She tenderly placed our daughter on the soft mattress and caressed her head. "Please give her your blessings. She has limited time to survive," Felicia pleaded this time with tears emerging in her eyes. My heart clenched to hear that my daughter didn't have even more time to leave. "Nothing will happen to our daughter," I affirmed in a confident tone. I believed in my powers. Felicia felt puzzled as to why I, the Alpha King, called Felina their daughter. She let me do the blessing ritual and stepped away without speaking another word. I sat down and placed my hand tenderly over Felina's head. A golden hue appeared around my hand as my eyes shone bluish before turning red. In the name of the Moon Goddess and his mighty ancestors, I channeled the energy into my daughter's body. Felicia had both her hands joined in trust. She was mesmerized to witness that sight. She could see the pale skin of her daughter vanish slowly and Felina turned more lively. Once I finished the blessing ritual, I brought my hands to the waistcoat and opened its top button. Taking out my locket, I put the locket around Felina's neck and let it rest above her chest. "She is well now," I said and kissed the top of Felina's forehead before again caressing her head. Felicia quickly closed the distance between them and touched Felina's forehead, followed by her hands. She was no longer cold. Tears escaped Felicia's eyes and she thanked me repeatedly. I could tell how much she loved and cared for Felina, her tears were proof that she had taken good care of Felina. I got on my feet and embraced her. "Don't cry. Everything is fine," I whispered, caressing her back. After Felicia turned stable, I told her I would come in a minute and left the chamber. As promised, I returned within a minute, bringing a maidservant with me. "Stay here and watch my daughter closely. As soon as she wakes up, I want you to inform us," I instructed the maid and found Felicia had already covered Felina with the warm blanket. "I don't want to leave Felina's sight," Felicia stated. "We have to talk, Felicia," I said in his stern tone, "about everything." Felicia couldn't ignore my command and followed me outside to the living room. After we settled on the couch, I asked her if she had forgotten about the night when she was totally wasted in a bar. Felicia’s mind raced as the fuzzy and distant memories stirred within her. She remembered the night five years ago, full of passion and desire. “It was you!?” She pointed her finger at me and asked. "So, you finally remembered," I said. "Where have you been for the past five years?" I asked with a frustrated voice. “Are you asking me about this?” Felicia rolled her eyes at my question. “I was alone and scared on the cold bed where I slept with a stranger that night! You left me without any answer.” I became quiet for a moment. I have always regretted not being there the next morning and announcing her as my mate. “Felicia, I know I was wrong. But something came up with the packs and I had to leave, otherwise, the two factions would have fought to death.” I explained myself in brief without dropping too many details. “I am not a person who would joke around about his mate, especially since I have waited for you all my life,” I said while being serious. I had used all my resources but couldn’t find her whereabouts in the last five years, other than her name and the pack she belonged to. As if she had vanished from the globe. "Do you even know how hard I try to find you? Even now, I'm unable to get your scent. What did you exactly do to yourself?" I muttered, my eyes fell on the pendant around her neck. I could sense the witch's magic on it and pulled it out immediately. I inhaled deeply as I finally got her scent. "Tell me everything now. What happened to you that you left, leaving no clue behind?" I asked with a demanding tone.
