The Nurse

Chapter 4

Kade’s POV

I called Tanner on my way home to have him meet me at my place. He was already sitting in my driveway as I got home. He followed me into the house as we made our way to the living room.

“Did you find her?” I asked not even looking at Tanner

“No man she has vanished no one can get ahold of her no one knows where she has gone” Tanner replied

“GREAT JUST f*****g GREAT!” I yelled as I kicked one of the chairs over in the living room “the woman I love is gone and now my grandfather is trying to get me to marry his caregiver and I have no other choice if I want to run my family’s company” I say defeated as I sink down into the couch.

“I’m sorry Kade we will keep trying to find her” Tanner said “but maybe all of this will work out for the best, who knows, you may grow to like the girl your grandfather has picked for you”

“I doubt that” I scoffed “but I only have to keep her around until the company is officially mine then we can go our separate ways”

Tanner stayed for about an hour talking about business and how things are going. I basically run my family’s company with grandfathers being ill but I don’t get to claim the actual title of CEO until I am married.

After Tanner left I got ready for bed but as I lay there in my bed alone thinking about where Stella used to lay beside me and thinking about the upcoming wedding I had no choice in I found myself unable to sleep. I decided to try calling Stella again but the line was dead. So I tried to send an email thinking maybe she hadn’t deleted her emails since that was her way of communication for new business opportunities, but no luck as I hit send and it said this email is no longer in use.

I decided to look into this woman I would soon be marrying Chloe Miller. When I typed her name in the search bar something about an accident 5 years ago came up, Chloe was the sole survivor of this accident. At 18 she lost both her parents and her younger brother in a car accident she was the only one who survived it. Shortly after she got into medical school to because a registered nurse. I found her social media pages and found out she became a nurse to honor her parents and sibling she wanted to be able to save people so no one had to go through what she did.

I have to admit she is a strong woman. She is also beautiful with her blonde hair that went just past her shoulders, her hazel eyes that almost seemed to sparkle, some light freckles across nose and a smile that lights up the room. As I looked at pictures of Chloe I realized just how beautiful she was. Just then my phone lit up with a picture of Stella that was sent to me by Tanner, she was in a fashion show. Stella was beautiful 5’ 8” long tanned legs black hair that went almost to her ass, she was skinny and curvy and I knew that was the woman I wanted. I quickly replied to tanners

Me: Where the hell is she? Where did you get that picture?

Tanner: It was sent to me by an unknown number I tried to call it but it’s already disconnected. That was a fashion show in Milan I tried calling the venue where the show was but they said Stella left to board a flight 2 hours ago.

Me: Board a flight to where I have to find her!

Tanner: they said they didn’t know where she was going. I called around to local airports in Milan but no one had her booked to fly out to anywhere, she must have taken a private flight, I’m sorry man.

After reading Tanners last text I turned my phone off and tried to get some sleep the next 3 weeks were going to be hell and I needed rest. Stella is running and clearly doesn’t want to be found and I need to focus on becoming the CEO of my family’s company. I slowly drifted off to sleep only to be woken hours later by pounding on the door.

I rolled out of bed with groan yelling at whoever was banging on my door to calm down that will be there in a minute. To my surprise a familiar voice on the other side yelled “Kade open up now!” I ran to the door wearing nothing but my boxers and as I opened it there she was Chloe Miller standing at my door. Chloe’s eyes widened as she stared me up and down. I cleared my throat slightly to break her stare.

“Chloe what the hell are you doing at my house at 4 in the morning?” I asked angrily as she stepped back a bit

“I-uh-you-” she stuttered over her words.

“What is it? What is so important that you me up at 4 in the morning?” I raised my voice at her and she backed up another step fear evident in her eyes.

“Your grandfather he is in the hospital he had a heart attack” she finally said tears welling in her eyes.

I quickly got dressed grabbed my keys and headed out the door following Chloe to the hospital where grandfather was.
