(Winter’s POV)
I can’t believe it’s over. Finally. I’m home. With my family. I get to actually see and hold my sister for real.
There’s a huge part of me that keeps thinking I’ll wake up back in that cell with that b*tch, Natalie, beating the h*ll out of me. I heard what they said earlier about her being the one who took me away to begin with. I can’t imagine what her family must be like when she’s so cruel.
I looked over at my sister who was sitting by my bedside, barely keeping her eyes open while we waited for Dad to return. The female doctor, Lena, was checking me over again. She kept smiling at me warmly, and her eyes would mist with tears, but she didn’t really say much. Then there was the other girl, Bethany. Goddess, she was beautiful.
