(Wyatt's POV)
After about five lashes, I nodded at Mack to stop and he did. No words were spoken, we just stood there and waited for the rogue to catch his breath a bit. Once he was breathing more normally again, I nodded to Mack and the whipping started all over again. This went on like this a few more times before he finally cracked.
“Why're you doing this?! You’re not even asking any questions!” He shouted, but didn't look at any of us. Instead, he looked over directly at April and something intangible flickered through his eyes. I glanced that way and saw her looking right back at him, unflinching, and all I could think was ‘Atta girl’, which drew her eyes to me for a split second.
