A Bad Day

The old woman couldn't stop grinning after realizing Jade Becker was the good girl on the plane "No wonder i had a good feeling about you" she had while giving Jade a greedy look like she was a snack.... wait! Was the old woman thinking about how high her chances of getting candy are now???

Jade blamed herself a million times in her head "my kindness has come back to haunt me" she cried without tears as she turned her back to the old woman to prepare her test kits for blood pressure, determined to survive this one month without any problem, Jade breathed in and turned back. Throughout the entire testing process, she avoided looking at the old woman's eyes but did not forget to keep a wide smile on her face.

The old woman pretending to be oblivious of what Jade was trying to do "I'm looking forward to my treatment tomorrow" she said eagerly while winking at her. Jade felt cold sweat run down her back as she saw the old woman wink and then remembered the grandson on the plane.Jade shook her head "No there's no way I'm giving in when there's so much money on the line".

Monday came faster than she thought, the director of the hospital contacted her the night before and told her to be at the hospital for some official registration into the hospital which was normal, except for the fact that she wasn't working in the hospital. Jade sighed as she checked her time, she was dressed formally for a weekday work, she wore a big glasses that made her look like a owl and a nerd which was the look she was aiming for, that way Ryan Black will not recognize her easily........at least for a period of time.

To perfect the look, her hair was in a tight bun. She wore a blue shirt and black suit trouser, hung on her shoulder was a small brown bag. After all, everything she needed for her work was already provided there so she won't need to bring her "tools", after contemplating on shoes for a while. She decided to ditch her three inch heels for a flat black shoe, her horoscope for the day said a lot of things about tripping which was why she decided to play it safe. She was never a fan of horoscopes, but working at the mansion, with the old woman had given her a reason to consult the horoscope.

And forty eight minutes later she vowed to always believe in horoscopes, when she bumped into a hard rock chest while trying to pick up her glasses that somehow managed to fall of her face. Still cursing at the fact the she was still so clumsy with glasses, she came in contact with the rock hard chest and moaned in pain. Instinctively trying to move away from danger she tripped on her "very low" flat shoes. She had literally "had a great fall"

She reached out to hold on to something and she did grab something but it was so silky that she lost her grip and fell straight on her butt, this time she hissed in pain and tears gathered in her eyes. Not having time to nurse her injury as she remembered the familiarity of the perfume she perceive after colliding with the rock hard chest. She reaches out for her glasses which was thankfully very near to her left hand on the floor, putting it on, she scurried to her feet and left a reasonable distance between she and the the rock hard chest whose face was still many inches above her and would make her neck sore if she looked at him from a close range. Looking up, she met the gaze of the rude hot specimen, who happened to be her boss now.

And was giving her the most irritable look anybody could bring up. "I'm..." She cleared her throat "I'm sorry.......sir. I didn't mean to bump into you....." She paused when she saw him looking at his tie and she saw how wrinkled it was, Jade gasped "right I held onto a silky thing.....it was his tie! I'm so done for" "oh my God, I'm so sorry sir, let me quickly rectify that" She apologized as she anxiously moved closer to help him straighten out the ruined tie. Her hand shook.under his hard stare and she could barely breath.

At the end, she ruined the tie beyond repair. Meanwhile, Ryan's face had went dark "she was bold enough to touch my tie and now she ruined it too" he thought to himself before giving her a really hard stare that left her scurrying away from him "What the f**k is your deal, why can't you do anything right. You can't even walk right, and you call yourself a nurse!"

Jade bit her lips and apologized again, Ryan sneered at her before pulling off the tie and turning back to his room. Jade rubbed her face and groaned, it was already a total failure on the second day. But then she remembered how thick his voice was and grinned. three seconds after she shook her head "You must be crazy Jade, he just insulted you and you're grinning like a fool?" she mumbled to herself and sighed.

This time she was taken directly to the old woman's room where she saw her playing with a card game, the servants has told Jade not to disturb the old woman.

So, she stood at a noticeable side while Madam CJ as the old woman was popularly known played her game silently with a stern face that Jade was seeing for the first time, she was surprised that someone that smiles and jokes with her as much as Madam CJ does can have such a dominative and regal air surrounding her. Jade quietly studied the authoritative woman before her, who played a game of card so elegantly that you won't doubt her ability to win.

After a few minutes, she noticed Jade. Her stiff face blossomed into a smile.
