Chapter 16

Meanwhile, in the room upstairs, Jacey had just woken up from a long sleep as she was tired. When she woke up, she wondered where she was as she was not so familiar with the place. She got up from the bed and opened the windows to view the surroundings, but she did not recognise any of the buildings nearby. She was worried about Roberta, so she looked for her phone to call her but her phone was nowhere to be found. She was now worried that someone had stolen as she did not see it. She opened the door and left the room. The surroundings still did not seem familiar to her. She decided to explore the house further. She turned around and saw the assassin climbing the stairs. She was short of words as she did not know why she was in his house. The thought of escaping crossed her mind, but she needed to find her phone first before she left. The assassin said to her, " You seemed to really enjoy your sleep. You were so sound asleep that I almost laughed. Are you feeling better, by the way? Do you want something to eat or do? Well, there is food downstairs if you are hungry." Hearing this, the girl thought the assassin had bad intentions towards her. She tried acting normal and said," Who are you? What are you? Why did you abduct me? What wrong did I do to deserve this? How could you bring me to your house without my consent? Do you know that I could report you to the police for a*******n?" Hearing this, the assassin responded," Why do you think I will kidnap you? Why will you not thank God that you are alive, first of all? Secondly, are you not looking for your phone. Well, it is downstairs, so come downstairs and take it.You can leave if you feel like it or if you get bored or if you want to see Roberta again. Are you not coming downstairs?" When Rose heard this, she said in a low voice, " Who is Roberta? I do not know who or what you are talking about, so stop wasting your time if it is precious. I am going downstairs for my phone, by the way, and you better not stop, or you will regret it."

He did not know what to do or say as Jacey seemed pretty serious. Jacey did not know what he would do to her, so she jumped from the first stair up to the last stair down to avoid walking with the assassin on the stairs. He was not so surprised by what Jacey had just done although he was speechless. When Jacey got down, she saw people seated there watching a movie and was so confused that she just stood there and watched for a while. When the assassin finally reached where she was standing, she quickly ran ahead and took her phone from the table.
