Destiny has other plans

Her heart was pounding in her chest as she slammed the door behind her locking it. First a wolf started coming around, though he seemed more curious about her than anything else. Then she overheard a few men asking around about a woman with blonde hair and two different coloured eyes. He had found her.    Running around the room she pulled clothes from the dresser shoving them into her duffel bag. Going to the window she looked out staring at the lake for only a moment before she bent down, whacking a piece of the flooring. It popped open revealing several passports, cash, and a burner phone.    Tossing the passports, cash, and phone into the bag she scurried around the room to grab all her other things. She needed to get moving.    Quickly pinning her hair up, she grabbed her wig tossing it on. Running over to her mirror she fiddled with the wig moving it around before pinning it in place. Grabbing her contacts, she carefully put them in and then took a second to look in the mirror.    She looked like a completely different person now with her short black bob and brown eyes. No way they would recognize her if she crossed paths with them, if she got away from the cottage before they returned. Letting a sigh escape her lips she took one more glance at herself before running back over to her bag.    Rushing through the house to double check she had gotten all her belongings. She shoved her feet into her combat boots and tossed her jacket on. She was dressed in all black in hopes she would blend in with the shadows of the forest as she made her way back into town.    She threw her duffel bag over her shoulder and took one more look at the cottage before exiting out the door.  Looking around she seemed to be alone. She couldn’t waste any more time, she needed to get moving.  Walking quickly, it didn’t take her long before she was in the deep of the forest. Her hood hid her face even more she moved at a hurried pace. She had been foolish to think she could stay there. She shouldn’t have stayed for so long, but it was hard constantly being on the run. Her body ached to rest, but there is no rest for the hunted.    She was nearing the clearing of the forest. She could hear the traffic moving and almost see a small diner in the distance. Before she knew it, she was stepping out onto the road, as sense of relief slowly engulfed her body.  Now all she needed to do was find a ride. Lifting her hand up with her thumb out she turned to face the cars passing by her.                She knew it was not the safest option, but she didn’t have time to steal a vehicle, she just needed to get out of this town, she could then figure out her next steps.  Walking down the road it didn’t take long before a black SUV slowed down. Slowly rolling to a stop until the back door was right in front of her.                The door swung open.  “Well hello miss,” he purred as his hand reached out for her. Her gut screamed at her to wait for another ride, to run, but she instead took his hand and climbed into the vehicle. The car was dark because of the tinted windows, but she had remarkably good eyesight. The man was staring at her like she was his next meal.                “Why is a little lady like yourself doing out here all alone?” He purred as his eyes watched her like she was his prey.                “I can take care of myself,” she responded watching him slide closer to her. Leaning his head closer to her she began hearing him sniff her, his eyes almost seemed to glow.    “I think it might be best if I wait for another ride,” she blurted out reaching for the door, only to hear it lock.                “I don’t think so,” He grabbed her twisting her back to face him as a big grin spread across his face allowing two fangs to poke out. “Humans so trusting,” he tightened his grip on her arms pulling her closer to him. “I thought I was going to have to search for my next meal but then you appeared so eager to catch a ride with a stranger. Don’t worry my sweet I’ll kill you quickly.”    Before he could lean in, she thrusted her hand up connecting with his nose causing his head to fling back and let go of her arms.                Twisting back around she forced the door to unlock opening it up she took a deep breath in before going to jump out of the car. It didn’t matter if the car was moving, she just needed to get out of the car.    She was about to jump out when she felt a piercing pain in her shoulder. Screaming in pain she felt it rising as it took over. Whipping around to face him, he sat there with amusement on his face until a snarl escaped her lips.    His face twisting in horror as he watched her. “What are you?” he gasped out just as she twisted back around flinging herself out of the car.    He watched as she sprung out of the vehicle and sat there for a few minutes in shock before grabbing the door and shutting it. Pulling a phone out of his pocket he hit dial.   “What?” A deep voice growled through the phone.                “I think I may have a lead on her,” he pressed his finger to his lips removing them to find some leftover blood from biting her.                “Where are you? Send me your location I will come to you,” the man demanded before hanging up on him. He let out a sigh and leaned back in his seat, his eyes wondered around the room when he noticed the duffel bag on the floor. A smirk twitched at the corner of his mouth as he reached down and grabbed the bag.                Crashing into the hard pavement she rolled off the road and back into the forest. Tumbling down Lilith hit a tree letting out a scream as pain spread through her body. Gasped and slowly tried to lift herself up, only to collapse back down.                Tears fell down her cheeks as she took a few deep breaths before clawing herself to a standing position leaning on the tree to catch her breath. “Willow,” She whimpered out wishing willow was with her still. She had left her bag in the SUV. She was too busy trying to escape she didn’t even realize she left it. All her money and ID were gone. Looking around she took in another deep breath before she stumbled over to another tree. She needed to find somewhere to hide and heal.    The big black wolf trotted up to the cottage and towards the lake. He couldn't wait to see her again, but when he looked out no one was there. Lifting his snout, he began sniffing around. He could still smell her though the scent had faded.   Walking up to the cottage door he quickly shifted back; standing up he reached for the doorknob. He twisted the knob and the door swung open with ease. As he entered the cottage, he could still smell her, but nothing to indicate she was still there.   Letting out a little whine he searched the cottage for her only to find all trace of her gone. He couldn't help but lower his head as exited the cottage allowing himself to shift back into his wolf. Walking away from the cottage he bowed his head in defeat. Not looking back, he slowly began walking back to the pack.    Why did she go? He thought as he moved through the forest. Had he scared her?    Lost in thought he halted as the smell of blood smacked into him like a brick wall. Panic consumed him as he took in the sent only to realize it was human. Not wasting anytime, he took off sprinting in the direction the smell the blood was coming from.    He galloped through the forest following the trail of blood that seemed to start at one tree and made its way through the clearing and toward his pack. Confused, he didn't stop and kept sprinting forward. Running along the dirt road he skidded to a stop when he saw a woman run out in front of a pickup truck.   "Help me!" she yelled out, darkness clouding her eyes, she felt herself slipping away as she collapsed. Just before her body could connect with the road, he caught her in his arms. Picking her up Alexander was no longer a wolf, but now man.    "Alpha Alexander, I didn't see her!" Dante yelled as he jumped out of the truck in a panic.    "It's okay let's get her to the infirmary," Alex responded as he carried her to the truck gently placing her in the back seat before climbing into the passenger seat. It didn't take them long before they skidded to a stop in front the little shack they used as a medical facility. Alex wasted no time and hopped out of the passenger seat then carefully pulled her out of the vehicle holding her in his arms.    Rushing into the clinic he shouted. "We need help!"    A nurse rushed to check the commotion before running down the hall to return with the pack doctor.    An older woman rushed to his side quickly scanning of the woman as she peeled back the woman's sweater from her shoulder revealing a bite mark. Fresh blood trailed from the wound down the woman's top.    "Bring her, we don't have much time," She ordered as they took off down the hall and into one of the surgical rooms.    The doctor pointed to the bed while pulling out gauze and other tools. "I need to get the venom out of her wound before it's too late," she explained as she began working to clean the wound out. Alex watched as worry and panic radiated through him.    "Silvia in here now!" The doctor yelled out of the room as another woman rushed in. "Alpha you need to leave," She then directed her gaze at a frozen Alex, his eyes locked on the woman lying in the bed.    "Alex!" She then shouted breaking his gaze. "You need to leave I will get you once we are done," She assured him before another nurse rushed into the room and gently ushered him out. He looked at her the door closing in his face leaving him to wait.    Alexander and Dante sat in the waiting area for what seemed like hours before Alexander told him to head back to the pack house. The sun had set when the doctor had come out.   “Is she okay?” Alexander asked he sat up. Concern showed on his face. It had been a long time since they had any vampire attacks in this area. He was hoping this was a lone vampire just passing through and not a nest.                “She is fine, she is healing remarkable fast for a human,” the doctor said. The doctor hesitated giving Alexander a look couldn’t quit place on her face. It was as if she was holding back some key information.    “What is it?” Alexander barked standing up from his chair. The doctor waved for him to follow turning on her heel and headed down the hall to where the girl was sleeping.                They entered and Alexander looked at her with confusion. She no longer had short black hair, but instead long blonde almost white hair that flowed down to the bottom of her waist.    “It seems she was trying to hide what she really looks like,” The doctor said pointing to the wig that sat on a chair near the bed. “We also removed these,” he said holding up a pair of brown contacts. “I don’t know who or what she is trying to hide from, but it seems very odd for a human,” the doctor added before exited out of the room to leave Alexander alone with her.    Walking to the bed he watched her for several minutes before reaching down and picking up the black wig. Sitting down in the chair near the bed he examined the wig as if it held some hidden clue to who she was. Letting out a sigh he tossed the wig onto a small table nearby.    Running his hands through his hair his eyes looked up at the ceiling. So many questions plagued him. Who was she hiding from? What had led to the attack? Why did he feel this pull to her? How could a human stir so many emotions in him?    Letting out another sigh he looked over at her before reaching his hand out and gently brushing a loose strand of hair from her face. Looking her over he couldn't deny she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Watching her he whispered. "Who are you?
