Date — I glared at Mary as she kept asking me pointless questions. “So your taking her out as a friend but you actually want her to be your girlfriend.” Mary asked the question again. I looked at the girl pinching the bright of my nose with my fingers in frustration, “Again yess!” I had grown tired too tired of her, Mary was so much sometimes I swear. “Why not just ask her?” she looked puzzled and honestly I was growing tired of it. I had explained it over and over again but she couldn’t get it through her head. “Because she would say no, I’m not trying to rush her if she’s not ready then I’ll just be asking her to friendly dates.” and that’s how I planned on winning Abigail over, all that mattered was the little things plus we would be making some memories. Mary fell back on the bed resting her huge head on her arms, “You have the patience you know, respect.” I walked over to her grabbing her arm I sat her back up, “Now will you allow me to get ready?” I pulled her off the bed even if she was reluctant, I will shove her out. “Where you taking her?” Mary asked as I dragged her over to the door. Yes I asked Abigail out on a date, to where I don’t know. I had thought about it all afternoon once I left her office but nothing, they all weren’t good enough. “I’ll improvise, friendly date after all I shouldn’t put to much pressure on it.” I wasn’t lying right, friendly dates weren’t something to pressure yourself on it was just hanging out. Mary freed herself from my grip, looking at me with narrowed eyes. “Downfall of every great lover, improvise.” she spoke rather dramatically. I rolled my eyes at her shoving her out my room, “Okay okay bye.” I slammed the door in her face walking to the closet. I walked down the stairs dressed in a black trousers with black combat boots and a purple long sleeved shirt with white stripes. Mary stood by the door examining me up and down, like I needed her approval. “See you later dear cousin, don’t wait up!” I spoke walking towards the front door, I wasn’t going to wait around for her to judge me, I know I dressed badly for a date. I got into my car then drove away to Abigail’s apartment. Yes still staying at home with everyone because my three family members begged me, their sad faces made me sad so I stuck around. I did miss them I always did but home has never felt like home, it was divided it was broken, it broke me. Enough of that sad mood, I’m going on a freaking date. I paced back and forward in the hallway deciding on knocking or not, I don’t know why but all the sudden I became anxious. Maybe it was because I didn’t plan it all or I actually wanted it to work out between us. I took in deep inhales and exhales once I felt calm enough not to faint I knocked on her door, I waited a bit then the door opened. Abigail’s girls friend from that night greeted me, Riley I think. “Abigail your girlfriend is here!” she shouted once she saw me, I gave her a small smile, she called me her girlfriend. “She is not my girlfriend! Let her in!” well there goes a dream, burnt to ashes. “Well you had s*x with her, typical denial.” Riley whispered to herself, surely not intending on me hearing her but I did sort of wanted to giggled, held it back. “Come in Josie, it has been a minute.” she took a step back allowing me to have a clear view of the apartment, and a free path into the house. I followed Riley to the couch, “Nice home you have here.” I tried starting a conversation, Riley leaned further back into the couch. Looking at me with a wide smile she spoke, “I know right, I keep it clean until the room slob I have.” she pointed to the direction of their rooms I’m guessing referring to Abigail. I laughed when I caught up to her joke, so did Riley. I and Riley exchanged talk for a while until Abigail finally appeared from her room dressed in sweat pants and a shirt, simple but she looked great. I thought that but Riley highly disapproved, “You’re going out dressed like that??” she asked Abigail glaring at her. “I think it’s cute. It’s not at all fancy just having a bit of fun.” I commented gazing at Abigail with a bright smile, which she returned. “See, Josie is okay with it.” Abigail shrugged looking Riley in the eyes with the same glare she was getting. Riley looked at me then back at Abigail, “Of course she is, she is in love with you. You’re pretty to her even if you look like you just woke up.” Abigail looked at me awkwardly when Riley said I was in love with her, I just avoided her gaze looking else where. “Okay. We’ll be going now.” Abigail grabbed me by my arm pulling me towards the door, I gave Riley one last wave before i closed the door. “Did you have dinner?” I asked Abigail as we walked out the building. She gave me a small head nod no, great first even planned. “Then let’s go have dinner.” I got ahold of her hand directing her to my car. I took us to a small pizza place around town they made good pizza, I always ate there. Through out the whole time I kept giving Abigail side glance, she just looked amazing. We were now on our second event of the night, I dragged her almost all across town to an ice rink. Covering her eyes we walked through the doors, bringing her up close to the ice I let go. “No motherfucking way! You took my ice skating!” she squealed embracing me in a hug and guess what I froze just letting her hug me. Abigail then let me go mouthing a sorry, we walked up to get our skates. Abigail looked at me in disbelief as I sat on the benches watching her shaking. “You took me ice shaking yet you are bad at it?” she had gone around the skating rink twice and I was still seated watching. I laughed nervously, “Yes ma’am.” this shaking thing had never been on my friendly side I always failed to not fall. Abigail got off the ice walking to me, “Okay come here.” she placed her arms in mine helping onto the ice. It took a few seconds before I was stable on the ice, we slowly began skating her hand still in mine guiding me. She skated with caution making sure she wasn’t going to fast afraid I would fall. “I think now you got this.” Abigail spoke letting go of my hand, did I want her to no not at all but I let go. I skated a bit by myself not falling at all until a tragedy fell upon me, I fell on my butt. Abigail skated over to me standing above me, “Are you okay?” she offered helping me get up but I brought both of us to the floor, Abigail landing on top of me. I looked at Abigail while chuckling, “You are not strong at all.” she agreed with a nod then we all began laughing, it was the best friendly date I had ever been on and it was just the first.
