Chapter 3

1638 Words
I was determined to make William fall for me so that I could get pregnant and have a child. More warriors were killed in the ambush by the Red Moons. Their strategies worked. As we were cleaning up the battlefield, it came to my attention that William would never dump the dead bodies into the mass grave. Instead, he would respectfully replace a white flower on them and then gently push them in. I could also hear William singing softly to the dead when he sat in the tree after the ceremony. His voice was extremely comforting, his melodies capable of bringing peace. Needless to say, he was definitely a unique werewolf. I was listening to his singing attentively when William hopped off the tree. The singing stopped. I walked up immediately and held his hand. “William,” I called out to him affectionately. “I didn’t have the chance to thank you the other day. Would you like to join me for a barbecue and some wine?” William pushed my hand away abruptly. “No, thanks. I’m tired.” I did not expect him to reject me so hastily, and I struggled to hide my annoyance. Before I could find another excuse for a date with him, a voice suddenly interrupted my thoughts. “Sierra! Why are you still here? Didn’t Kate tell you not to linger on the battlefields?” David scolded me coldly when he saw me and William under the tree. He was not amused. “Do you want the enemies to find your scent that badly?” He wore his harsh expressions as usual. I sneered. “Why are you here then, David? I’m sure they can smell you too.” Not expecting my question, David stuttered, “I … I was just making sure none of our pack members were left behind. Sierra, you’d better shut up. Otherwise, Kate will hear about this!” Hiding the flustered look in his eyes, David turned his eyes to William and sized him up. “I don’t think I’ve ever met you before.” William hung his head and replied courteously. “My name is William. I’m new here. My pack was slaughtered by the Red Moons, and I am the only one who survived. I’m very grateful the Tarlows offered me a home. You have my full devotion.” David snorted, “That’s the way. You must behave yourself. Otherwise, Miss Kate, our future leader, will make you suffer.” Gray: Sierra, don’t you think David has been frequenting the battlefield recently? He seems sneaky. Me: You’re right. I need to try and investigate him. Gray: We should win William’s love first before investigating David. Me: I will. Without saying anything else, David walked away. I comforted William telling him to relax, but he only looked at me with confusion. “Do you know that man very well? Who are you?” “My name is Sierra Collins. The Miss Kate who David just mentioned is my sister.” I told him my identity. William raised his eyebrow as he seemed to remember something. “I see. You were the one who was in exile. You’re the weak Omega who was born in a noble Alpha family, right?” I corrected him. “Omegas can be strong too. I’ll become a real warrior one day.” “Okay then. Good luck with that, Miss Collins.” William straightened himself as he nodded at me, his expressions hard to r******w, please excuse me.” I could feel William was not interested in me, but that was not enough for me to give up. If I wanted a strong offspring, I had to make him my mate. To make my dream come true, I designed a beautiful red dress for myself. On a quiet night, I took a prolonged bath in the running creek. My perfume was extracted from the most fragrant petals, and my skin was spotless like the most expensive jadeite. On this moonlit night, I knocked on William’s door. “What do you want?” William did not seem happy or surprised when he saw me. All my efforts to clean up myself might be just a waste of time. Too stubborn to give up, I placed my hand gently on his chest as I gently caressed his muscles. His muscularity only enhanced my belief that he was the one. “William, I like you. Would you be interested in my story?” “Sorry, Miss Collins, but I’m busy. I have a lot to do tomorrow.” William removed my hand with slight disgust. “Miss Collins, don’t you think you’re acting like a s**t right now? Please stop harassing me.” My heart broke. How could he reject me again and again? I dug my fingers into my palm, pain piercing my entire body. “Do you really despise me that much?” My cheeks flushed. I did not know what else to say. “Yes. I despise you and every other female in the pack. Please leave. Now.” From his eyes, I could see his cold-heartedness and my own embarrassment. Was this my sign to give up? Should I just go and save my last remaining bit of dignity? Perhaps, I should never come again. Suddenly, Grandma’s words came to me. You must activate your inner power. When you become powerful no one will ever bully you again. Yes, Grandma. I will listen to you. I will awaken my powers and live a wonderful life with my child. With that thought in my mind, I felt more determined than ever. After all, this was nothing compared to the horrific treatment by my parents ever since I was little. Smiling, I pulled him close to me and served myself up on a silver platter. Feeling his tough chest, I tried to kiss his neck. My lips left red marks everywhere. I could feel his body tensing, his breath quickening, his hands holding me tightly, and his eyes sliding down my body. “Take me, William. I’m sure you’ll like me.” William pushed me away and transformed into a wolf. Glaring at me with his crimson eyes, he dashed to the woods. Gray: We failed again, Sierra. Me: Don’t stress. This isn’t the end. I will get William to love me. Gray: Are you sure, Sierra? Me: Remember what Grandma said? Warriors will never be defeated. No matter what happens to me, I need to remind myself of my identity as a warrior of Tarlow Pack. I shall always have faith in myself, and I will become a fearless werewolf. Gray: I believe in you, Sierra. You can do it. I started trying something new. Every day, I would make something delicious for William and push it into his hands secretly during the cleaning. Although he would ditch the goodies every time, I persisted. One day, William did not discard the cheesecake I made for him immediately. Instead, he stared at the cake for a while, eventually taking a small bite. “Do you like it?” I rushed over and asked him. William frowned. He did not answer me, but I knew he liked it. “If you like it, I can make more for you.” “The flavor reminded me of the cake I used to have at home with my parents,” William said, his eyes softening when he looked at me. “Thank you, Miss Collins. This is enough. I don’t need more gifts.” Of course, I did not listen to William. Instead, I continued to cook for him every day. One day, we did not have any dead bodies to bury. They summoned all the lowly Omegas to the training ground to do some basic training. I knew that the rare opportunities had come for me to prove myself and to be commended by the commander. Only then, would I have the chance to become an honorable warrior. Grandma taught me a lot of combating skills. She said that women were not as physically strong as men. This was something difficult to overcome. Therefore, I must work on my speed and judgment. Remembering Grandma’s words by heart, I did well in the training and escaped from the Beta trainer a few times when he tried to control me using his body weight. “Not bad at all.” Mr. Rio moved his body and was pleased with my performance. “You’re different. You’re fast, and you make much better decisions in your movement than other Omegas. Have you received professional training before?” I beamed. “Yes, Mr. Rio. My Grandma was a very good teacher.” “You’re a lucky girl.” He patted my shoulder. Suddenly, Rio waved at William. “Come here, William.” William and I looked at each other. Rio said, “Both of you are quite capable. Sierra, you’re fast and good at making judgments. William, I admire your strength. If you two can work together, I think you’ll have great potential as a team.” I was very delighted to hear that. This was the first time I was ever acknowledged, and it also improved my relationship with William. Getting a little too excited, I failed to control myself. I rushed to William and gave him a big hug. With a bright smile on my face, I said, “William, why don’t we team up? Let’s train together! This is the best thing that has ever happened to me!” William’s startled eyes met mine, but he soon turned away to avoid my gaze. I clung to his chest tightly, not giving a damn about what others would think. That was when Kate appeared out of nowhere, followed by David.
