Chapter 9: Time to heal while trouble brews

Harmonys POV

Waiting in the hospital for news was the longest and hardest thing ever. It was going on thirteen hours since he was brought in and no word on his condition. I dozed off a few times in the chair. I wanted to feel his touch to even give him a hug. I missed Jayden and I felt like I was going to lose him.

Alpha Alec stayed with me for a little while before retiring in for the night. He knew everything planned with the pack and he had a few meeting coming up.

I was very thankful for his support and hoped that everything was going to be ok.

"Harmony" a nurse called out and I jumped up. I couldnt read her face. I couldnt tell if she was going to tell me he died or take me to his room. "How is he" I asked not waiting for her to say something first. " he is alive" the nurse said "but is still very critical. He was shot with a silver bullet. It went into his side and out the other side. He had internal bleeding which we finally got to stop. A piece of his one kidney had to be removed and the other one was completely removed. He is receive blood right now and is in a medically induced coma. The doctor wants you to come see him. Since your his mate he thinks it will help him. " the nurse explained and I felt weak in the knees. I followed her to his room and almost ran to his side. He was all hooked up. Several IV lines, breathing tube, feeding tube, monitors. It was actually kind of scary. He was very pale and almost looked dead. I sat down and touched his arm. He was warm but also cold. "We did lose him once" a mans voice rang out making me jump. "Didnt mean to startle you. I'm doctor Matthews. I am the one who performed the surgery. We lost him once but managed to bring him back. He is a fighter." He said placing a hand on my shoulder. "Studies has shown that the mate Mark can help a mate heal faster. I know you were both going to mark each other at your wedding this week but you may want to think about doing it today for him" Dr. Matthews said and I nodded. "I dont want to sound stupid but how do I mark him" I ask looking down. Dr. Matthews smiles "You let your canines come out and bite the crook of his neck. About right here" he said touching Jayden on the neck. I nodded and stood up. Jayden told me that when we got married he would mark me first then I would mark him.

-Flashback-

"Alright Harmony after we are pronounced husband and wife is when he do the marking ceremony" Jayden said holding me while we sat at the pond. The blue water was beautiful as the setting sun shone across the top of the water.

"So I just wait for you to bite me" I say and he starts belly laughing. "Kind of, the elder, most likly Thomas will say a few words bless us and then I will kiss your neck then gently bite it. It won't hurt for long and then I have heard pleasure fills your body. He will then bless it again and you will bite me. After that we kiss again and go to our mating room where I will seal the deal" he said pulling me into a kiss. After a few moments he broke and kiss. "You will then be expecting pups after that night" he whispered into my ear making me blush.

-end of flashback-

"Doctor do we need an elder resent for me to mark him?" I ask and the doctor sighs. "No but if you want i can go get the elder. You only need him when you do the ceremony and accept your position as Luna" he said before leaving the room.

"I will stay with you if you want" the nurse said softly and I nodded. I kissed his forhead before whispering to him " I'm gonna mark you Jayden. I love you so much". With that I let Lola extend our canines and bit his neck drawing just a tiny amount of blood. His monitor sped up showing his heart wad racing for a minute before leveling back off. I just hoped that marking him would help him heal.

-a month later-

I was use to waking up alone. Jayden was still in a coma. There was talk among the pack that he died but I wouldnt let him pass.

I walk down the hall to have breakfast. Several pack members give me a mean look. I just ignore the looks as I grab breakfast and leave the pack house. Alpha Alec normally yells at anyone who gets mad at me or gives me mean looks. But he wasnt out this morning yet.

I walk into the hospital and check in before walking down to Jaydens room.

Walking in Jayden stirs. I walk over to him and talk to him like always. "Still getting mean looks" I say.

"Why? " a voice reply to me as tears swell in my eyes. "Jayden" I say starting to cry happy tears. "Yes" he says smiling at me. I lean down and give him a kiss before running to let the nurse know he is awake.

"How long have I been sleeping" he says and I sit on thr bed next to him. "A month" I say looking away. "Alec stepped up as temporary Alpha" I say and I can feel Jayden getting a little mad. "You should have been Alpha" he said but then frowned. "I couldnt because I am not Luna yet" I say softly and he nods. "I forgot about that" he said rubbing his neck then pausing at the mark I put on him. "The doctor said if I marked you it would help you heal" I say and he smiles. "So that's why I feel even more attracted to you" he said pulling me into a kiss.

Jaydens POV

As I sit and talk to Harmony I cant help but notice she looks tired. I'm sure she hasnt slept much in the past month and it hurts my heart.

'We almost died' Crimson chimes in. 'She has been here every day all day waiting for you to wake' he comments and I sigh.

"Harmony Im gonna try linking to Alec unless you wanted to go get him for me. " I say softly and she nods. She walks out of the room and I feel a pull to try and follow my beautiful mate.

Soon she returns with Alec. She must not have told him I was awake because his eyes get big.

"Jayden how are you" he asks.

"Better, but I want to address why the pack is disrespecting my mate" I say with a small growl. Alec lets out a small growl as well. "They think you are really dead and she is keeping you alive in here on the machines." Alec commented and I looked to Harmony. She had her head down and I was getting mad.

'Why hasnt he stood up for his Luna! Our mate!' Crimson yells in my head only fueling my anger.

" Any one who said or showed anger towards Harmony got yelled at" Alec said and I calmed down slightly. I was just happy to be awake and for Harmony to not have to go thru this anymore.

A month had passed since I woke up and now I was getting discharged. They told me to take it easy and gave Harmony instructions on how to help me.

"Are you ready" she asks me looking more rested. She had spent the night with me every night since I woke. I couldnt wait to get her back to our room so I could have my way with her.

Walking out of the hospital I could hear pack members talking to eachother. "Is that Alpha Jayden?"

"Ya I think so"

Where some of the conversation most were having. I walked up the stairs to the pack house and turned to address the pack. "As of right now Alec with remain Alpha. We will have my wedding to your Future LUNA Harmony in two days. Then I will resume as Alpha. If any of you have a problem with your Future Luna or say anything bad about her you will have to deal with me. I will not allow my mate to be disrecpected as she has while I was injured." I say causing several pack members to whimper at my alpha aura I was admitting. Even Alec lowered his head some at my tone.

Harmony POV

Listening to Jayden address the pack I watched faces. Several people who had given me looks looked down avoiding his eyes. They whimpered as he seemed a little mad at them which made me happy. We walked up to our room after the address. "You want to rest some" I ask him as we enter the room. I wasnt expecting him to grab me. I let out a small gasp as he pulls me into a very passionate kiss.

Jayden continues to kiss me and I pull us towards the bed. Without a second thought he broke the kiss to push me back on the bed. I let out a small gasp then a giggle. " someone is fiesty" I say wrapping my arms around his neck as he lays on top of me. "You want to go all the way?" He whispers to me and I blush.

"I thought we had to wait for the ceremony" I ask before moaning out as he kisses my neck. My body feels on fire and I arch my back slightly in response of his kiss. As the sun comes into the room I feel the warmth. I smile as I look at my naked mate sprawled across the bed and still snuggled into me. I get up to use the restroom when Alec links me. 'I need your assistance if your available' he says. 'Give me about five mintues and I will be right there' I link back to him. I start up a shower and step in. I quickly wash my body. I let out a small groan of pain as I wash my freshly healed side. It was still a little sore and last nights evens probably didnt help. I dress after im out of the shower and walk down to my office.

I open the door and walk in. Alec is sitting at the desk. We go over some paperwork and I explain a few things to him. He told me about mandatory training on Saturdays but said I could come watch but not fight. "Harmony is getting better. I started her with the young teens and she is working up to the next level" he said and I smiled. I was glad Harmony was learning to fight. "You didnt say anything about the night i was shot right" I say and he looks at me. "No it wasnt my place. It was an accident that hunter got the drop on you. He masked his scent. I sent to go find him but I couldnt find a trace of his scent anywhere" Alec explains and I nod. This wasnt good if they could mask their smell now.

After talking to Alec I made my way back to the room. Harmony was in the shower. I snuck into the bathroom and waited. As she climbed out of the tub I nonchalantly said "hey beautiful". She jumped and almost fell on her butt. She then started laughing. "Not funny Jayden" she said coming to give me a hug.

Third person POV

Somewhere in the distance a few miles from pack lands a women walks. She has on a hood that covers her head and part of her face. "Your late" a male voice snarls as he appears from behind a tree. "No I couldnt be seen coming here. Do not anger me" the women said with a low growl. "Why do Alphas have to be such drama queens" the man said causing the women to growl louder.

"The plan is in motion. Alec is the Alpha. There wedding is in three days. Lets not mess it up this time. Jayden has to die so I can regain control" the women says. "Dont harm the future luna or I will kill who ever does" she also comments.

Jaydens POV

Just a day before the wedding and everyone is moving around making sure everything is set. The flowers came in today so they are making the bouquets and table arrangements. Since Harmony and I went against tradition and marked and mated eachother we are just doing our vows then having the elder bless us. Ember and Harmony have their last dress fitting so they are off doing their thing. I walk past my office and knock on the door. "Alec you want to go get drinks tonight?" I ask as he calls me in. "Sure man" Alec replied and I smile. I couldnt ask for a better best friend.

Harmonys POV

"Im so excited for tomorrow" Ember say smiling at me. We were at the pack house getting our last fitting. Several of the pups in the wedding were also with us trying on their dresses. "Miss Harmony look at mine" one of the youngest pups said. I smiled "You look beautiful Joy" I say to her then all the girl pups wanted me to see theirs. "You all look beautiful" I say as they all hug me. Their moms all smile standing towards the back of the room.

After the pups say their good byes I let out a sigh. "Ember do werewolves go on honeymoons or not really" I ask. I was really curious about that.

"Not really unless your not married to an ranked wolf. Sadly Alphas cant just up and leave on vacations" Ember says and I force a smile. "Guess we will have to stay in the room for a couple days" I comment and ember starts laughing. I blush and chuckle as well.

"We should have a spa night for the bachelorette party" Ember said. "We have a pack spa at the edge of the territory but no humans ever go to it. "She said and I smile. "That sounds amazing" I say smiling at her. She was really great to be around. I couldnt wait until tomorrow.

Third person POV

- Bachelorette party -

Harmony was getting a message while Ember was getting a facial. The ladys running the spa had a special package for bachelorette party that included snacks and alcoholic drinks. So the girls where getting pamapered.

-Bachelor Party-

Jayden ,Alec, and Caleb went to a bar. "Last night as a single man" Alec chuckled hitting Jaydens shoulder. Jayden chuckled while slaming back a drink. The three where having a great time. Alec didnt have a mate so he was trying to pick up some women. The more he drank the more he tried to get them. Jayden and Caleb just laughed at him.

- unknown place not far from the pack-

A man stands looking at his phone. He carries a small pistol that he conceals in his pants. 'is everything set for tomorrow' he texts a number.

'yes tomorrow at 3pm. Dont be late' the number reply. The man smiles and says to himself. "Jayden I hope you like wolfsbane with the side of silver" .
