Chapter 5: Wolves exist but so do Hunters

Unknown Pov

When I turned 18 I had learned about my packs past. My fathers father, the alpha of Clear River Pack. My father was the second born son. He lost against his brother. He failed and his father got mad. He told him to go concer another pack because he wanted to Alpha sons. So my father ventured out and took over Emerald Forest Pack. What I didnt know is he terminated all the pups he deemed unworthy of living. Mostly the Alpha beta and gamma pups.

-flashback 6 years ago-

"Son come with me down to the dungeon. I want you so see my booty prize. " my father said and I followed him down. "See son this is the old Luna of Emerald Forest. Isn't she a cutie. Kept her around to make Alpha pups but sadly she hasnt produced any for me" he said unlocking her cell. He walked up and touched her chin. "Say Hello to my son dear" he said. I felt bad for the women. "Now son since I am going to pass the title you get to decide what to do with my pet" he said and my heart raced. I knew my fsther was heartless and cruel but I didnt know what he was going to say next. "You can keep her, which I only recommend if you try to mate with her, or you can kill her" he father said. The womens eyes got big as she stared at me. "I will keep her father" I say firmly as I walk up to her. "I'm not my father" I whispered in her ear. "Well I will let you to alone so you can seal that deal son" he said as he left. I waited until I knew he was out of range. "I'm sorry for my father. I'm not going to harm you. Let me see your cuts" I say looking for her cuts and bruises. My father truly was evil. "Once I am alpha I would like you to stay here while I care for you. I will visit you weekly and have food brought down twice daily then once you gain some weight three times a day" I say and her face gave me a weak smile.

-end of flashback-

"Oh my Luna" I say as I open her cell. She chuckled "You know I'm very grateful for everything. You know I have a daugther who survived" she said and my eye went wide. "Really? Is she in this pack or another pack?" I ask as I hand her dinner for the night. "She is with the humans. I gave her up there because I knew she would be safe not knowing who we were" she said and I smiled.

"She shifted today then. Her wolf has the most beautiful blue eyes" I say with a small blush. The Luna looked at me like I grew a head. "She lives just past out boarder on the western side. She is actually my mate. If that is your daugther" I say and the Luna looks at me. "I always told your father that I killed her myself because I wouldnt give him the privlage of doing that" she said and I nodded. This woman was very strong. She gave up her daugther, lost both sons her mate and her whole pack family. "Well Luna Ember, would you like to see where she lives" I ask opening the cell door. Ember looked at me and started to cry while shaking her head yes.

Thankfully my father had passed away last year so no one would object to me allowing the old luna out. Only a small handful of the wolves knew who the old luna was. I walked with Ember and once outside I shifted. Ember walked next to my wolf for a second before trying to shift. It had been a while so I'm sure her wolf was almost dormant by now. She shifted and was wobbly for a few minutes. We walked towards the house near the edge of the forest.

Once we were near the house I saw the girl standing outside. She looked like she was having a battle about shifting again or not. Ember shifted back and stood naked near a tree watching the girl. "That is my baby. She looks just like her daddy" Ember said starting to cry. I stood next to her in my wolf form and thought the girl looked in our direction before going back into the house.

Harmonys POV

I had been standing outside when I saw a women and that wolf again. The women seemed familiar to me like I had maybe seen her before. I brushed it off and went inside. Josh was coming over and I wanted to show him what happened. He wasnt going to believe it.

Soon Josh arrived and I was beginning to feel nervous. I didnt know if he would be happy or scocked or worried. I was started to second guess myself. What if it had been a dream and I didnt know it. It had felt so real. "Josh do you believe in people changing into wolves?" I ask him and he just stares back. "Yes" he said flatly. "I know they do exist and I wish I could find them." He said with a look in his eye. "Do you want to harm them?" I ask with a chuckle. The chuckle was more because I was nervous then the statement being funny. "Well kind of" he said softly then gave me this look. "My dad has killed one before. He is what they call a hunter. If they come too close to the human population then they need to be eliminated" he said and now I was shocked. If I shouldnt him I was a shifter then he would probably want to kill me. "What if someone you knew was one. Just hypothetical" I said truly wondering about it. "Well honestly it would depend on the person. You I would keep safe anyone else if they ticked me off I would expose them to the hunter group" he said smiling. "But dont worry Harmony. You dont have to worry about anything. I will always keep you safe. Your like my little sister" he said smiling at me.

A couple days had passed and I was starting to wonder more about myself.

Lola?

I think in my head. This was the first time I ever tried to comunicate with her.

I'm here

She replied and it made me smile.

I want to know about us. About wolves.

I say hoping she knew more then I did.

Well Harmony there is a lot. You have your packs. With in the packs you have an Alpha and a Luna. They are incharge of running the pack. Then you have your betas. The larger the pack the more you have. Normally no more then 3. Under them are Gammas. You normally have one for each beta you have. Then you have your normal pack member with no rank. The lowest you can have is an omega. They are normally the ones who cook clean and care for the pups.

She said and it made me think.

So what am i?

I asked and I could feel the silence. I hoped that I didnt upset her.

Well Harmony you were born to two alphas so by blood your an alpha.

She said and it made me gasp. I wasnt sure I wanted to be an alpha or even have that kind of blood as she put it.

Did we find our mate?

I ask remebering when she had said that about that man we saw.

Yes we did and you should go find him

She said with a small purr causing me to think.

If we went to find him what would happen. I'm with humans I have no idea of wolf ways or even how to shift properly.

I help you shift and you can learn as you go

Lola said and I sighed

I cant really think to nyself without you hearing can I.

No you can. You were just still on the mind link with me.

Lol replys chuckling causing me to blush slightly. I smile and wonder about a few thing.

I walk outside,

Lola can we change again and explore a little.

I ask with a scared look.

Walk to the woods and change out of your clothes so they domt rip this time.

Lola said and I followed her direction. Once I was unclothed we shifted for the second time. I felt better this time and not as sore. I figured the more we did this the more it wouldnt really hurt or feel weird.

Walking through the woods I felt at home. I had accepted the voice as my majestic wolf. She was awesome and I wished I'd talked to her sooner. We walked for a while before we came to a small stream. I leaned down to take a drink and heard a crunch of a branch. My head flys up as I scan my surrounding. Suddenly I see another wolf appear. It stands about 5'7 at the shoulder with shorter redish-orange tan fur. It also has one white sock on its front left leg. It's eyes are light amber colored . I couldnt tell for sure if it was a male or female. I stood still while this wolf circled me. My heart raced not know if this wolf was going to attack or not. I had only ever changed into my wolf form one time so I had no idea how to fight. I just hoped that this wolf was nice.
