CHAPTER 7: THALIA RECEIVES HER FIRST GIFT

Thalia POV

“Beep… Beep….beep…” I wake up as I hear the alarm clock ring, only to see that it is already six in the morning and  Sophie is already up. She has always been a morning person. “Morning Sophie.” I whisper and she whispers good morning to me too. I turn around to look at Becky only to see that she is still sleeping. Now Becky is not a morning person at all! “So do you think we should wake her up?” I ask Sophie as I silently get out of bed. I know all too well what will happen if we wake Sleeping Beauty up. “Hell yes. We have to do it now or else we will be late for school again and then Principle Beyers will have our asses!” Sophie says as she grabs a pillow. I grab a pillow too. “Ready?” I ask Sophie. “Yep!” She says popping the p. Then at the same time Sophie and I jump on the bed, we start hitting Becky while we scream “Wake up, wake up, wake up Sleeping Beauty!” Becky wakes up screaming back at us “I’m gonna you two bitches!” Sophie and I then run away as we know she will chase us. “Get back here!” Becky shouts as she chases us down the hall

Suddenly in the blink of an eye, I am in the kitchen where mom has just made us coffee and Jake is sitting at the table, checking something on his phone. Mom screams as she gets frightened by my sudden appearance. “Honey where did you come from so fast?” Mom asks me as grabs the kitchen counter to steady herself. “Mom I was just in my room with Sophie and Becky, then Becky started chasing us and then suddenly I’m in the kitchen here with you guys!” I tell mom with a shocked look on my face.  Then Becky and Sophie come running into the kitchen. “How did you get down here so fast? You  were behind me then the next second you beat me to the kitchen?” Sophie asks confused. “I don’t know Sophie!”

‘Morning Thalia!’ Alexa chirps inside my mind. ‘Well look who decided to wake up! Good morning to you too! You sound like you are in a good mood!’ I tell Alexa. ‘Yes, I am. I had a good night’s rest now to answer your question as to why you got to the kitchen so fast.’ Alexa says but then she pauses. ‘Well, can you tell me?’ I ask her annoyed. ‘Yes, you have received your first gift. Superspeed!’ she replies. Oh yeah, now I remember that is one of the powers the Moon Goddess is giving me.

“Alexa says I have received my first gift. Superspeed!” I say as I look at the others and I see they are looking at me weird. “What? I read that it is one of the powers of the Lunar wolf!” I say “Honey you look so cute when you talk to your wolf.” Mom says as she laughs and the others start laughing as well. “Your mom is right! You do look cute!” Becky says. “Stop it! You know I hate being called cute!” I say as I cross my arms over my chest.  “Oh cutie pie!” Jake says. “Not you too!”  I say as I roll my eyes at him and he just chuckles.

“Who is a cutie pie?” Uncle Ale says as he comes walking down the stairs. “Thalia is. She makes this cute face when she talks to her wolf!” Mom says “Nah she is still my little bambino!” Uncle Ale says as he teases me. “Urgh. It is no use arguing with you guys so I am just going to keep my mouth shut!” I say as I turn around to pour some cereal into a bowl.

“Now that you have your wolf, we can mind link each other!” Mom says “Oh and Ale, Thalia here just got her first gift this morning! Superspeed!” Mom says as she takes a sip of her coffee “Really? So I guess you are faster than the Flash now?” Uncle Ale says as he pours himself a coffee. “Yes! You should have seen her! She just swoosh by me!” Sophie says as she starts making her and Becky some sandwiches. “Guys I still don’t know how I did that, I still need to figure out how to use these gifts!” I say with a sigh.

‘You will sweetheart in time! We are all here for you!’ I hear mom’s voice inside my head. “Mom did you just mind link me?” I ask her out loud. “Yes, sweetheart I did. Pretty cool huh?” She tells me. “Yes very cool. Now I don’t need to spend a fortune on airtime and data!” I say with a smirk. “There is a lot of o perks at being a werewolf. We will teach you everything you need to know!” Mom says as she finishes her breakfast. “Well except for the marking and mating part. Her mate will be the only one to help her there!” Becky says.

“What do you mean by marking and mating?” I ask confused. They did not tell me anything about that before. “And I’m out of here! Thea that is your department. Explain to your daughter about the marking and mating!” Uncle Ale says as he leaves the kitchen faster than the speed of light. I swear sometimes I think he has superspeed! “Me too, I have to go meet John anyway! I’ll see you later babe!” Jake says as he gets up and leaves. “Us too. We have to get ready for school.” Becky says as she grabs Sophie and leads her back up the stairs. Damn! They all left so fast! Are they too scared to explain the marking and mating to me?

“Honey marking and mating is something special you share with your mate. Marking is your mate will mark you here,” she points to where my neck and my collarbone meet, “when you mate with him, as in have s*x with him, he will bite you there leaving his mark and you will do the same to him on his neck. That will complete the mate bond.”  “Oh!” I say “That doesn’t sound too bad!” I say. “It is not. It is actually quite pleasurable!” Mom says as she gets up. “Really?” I ask. “Yes really. Now come on I have to get ready for work and you have school.” Mom says as she leaves the kitchen. I look at the clock and I see it is already 6:40 “s**t!” I say as I start running then suddenly I am in my room. ‘We really need to get this superspeed thing under control Alexa.’ I tell my wolf and she agrees with me but then she says that it is coming in handy now. I decide to use the power and within seconds I had my whole morning routine done and my school uniform on. “Damn Thalia that was fast!” Becky says as she puts on her shoes “Oh I could get used to this! This is sooo awesome!” I say as I look at myself in the mirror. “Yeah yeah, we know now let’s go!” Sophie says as she goes to the door. I speed past her then I’m out by the front door and I get into my car! I smirk as I see the girls come walking out the front door! “Come on slowpokes!” I yell at them and I smirk. “No fair! That is not cool! Sophie says as he and Becky get in. “What? You said come on and I did! Superspeed is soo cool!” I say as I laugh at her.

The rest of the car ride was quiet until we got to school. I started getting the feeling that someone was watching me but everytime I try to look, I didn’t see anybody.  As soon as I got into the school building, I started smelling a lot of different scents and then I noticed some of the students and teachers were staring at me. “Why are they all staring at me? Is there other supernaturals in this school besides us?” I whisper to the girls. “Yes, there are werewolves and vampires who can walk around in daylight because they wear jewelry enchanted by witches,  that come to this school. Principle Beyers is a werewolf as well as some of the teachers. There are humans here too but they don’t know about us!” Becky says. “The people are staring at you is because they can smell that you are a werewolf. You have a very powerful aura around you that makes us want to bow down to you, even me!” Becky says as she grabs me by the arm. “We need to be careful guys. If Pack wolves can pick up your scent then that means the evil rouges will too!” She adds as she takes me to the nearest empty classroom. “This might help cover your scent. It is a potion I made just for this purpose.” Sophie says as she sprays the potion on me. “It doesn’t smell too good!” I say as I scrunch up my nose. “I know but its all I got so we are just using a little bit okay?” Sophie says as she puts the potion back in her bag.

“Come on let's get to class.” Becky says. We all go to our classes and soon the feeling of being watched disappears. As soon as I meet up with the girls at my car, I get that feeling again that someone is watching me.  We get into my car and we drive home. Sophie and Becky go to their houses to drop off their things. On the way home I thought I saw some movement in the woods but I thought I was seeing things. I walk onto the porch when I notice a strange man across the street then all of a sudden he was gone. ‘Well, that was creepy!’ I tell Alexa. ‘Very creepy! Thalia we have to stay alert okay! I have a feeling something bad is going to happen soon!’ Alexa says. ‘Gotcha!’ I reply. Alexa has been very quiet since we went to school this morning like something is bothering her.

I get into the house and I hear mom is in the kitchen. “Hi mom.” “Hi honey” mom says. I need you guys to get me some things at Checkers please” Mom says as she gives me a list. “Take Sophie and Becky with you Thalia.” Mom says as I grab my phone. I text Sophie and Becky that they should come with me to Checkers.’ Yes, I’ll be right there are their replies. We get to Checkers and as soon as we enter the parking lot and get out of the car, the foulest smell hits me. “What the hell is that smell? Ugh!” I ask the girls. “ROUGES!” Becky yells just as a bunch of guys starts running towards us. There must be 20 to 30 of them and they just keep coming! Luckily Uncle Ale taught us how to fight so we start fighting them. I charge at this rouge with a roundhouse kick sending him crashing to the floor. ‘Wow,’ I say more to myself. I look up and there must be about 50 or so rouges surrounding us. Sophie has made a forcefield around me, her and Becky. But I can see that it is taking a lot out of her.

‘Let me come forward Thalia! I can fight these fuckers!’ Alexa says. ‘No, you are not strong enough!’ I tell her ‘ I just got you last night!’ I yell at her. ‘See that is where you are wrong Thalia! I am strong enough!’ she yells back at me. ‘LET. ME. TAKE. OVER. NOW! She tells me. ‘I don’t know how to give you control Alexa!’ And that is when I hear the creepiest voice ever speak to me.

“Well, well, well what do we have here? If it isn’t the Lunar wolf and her squad!” a man with an ugly scar across his face says. It is like Freddy Kruger sliced his face up real bad ‘Mom are you there?’ I try to mind link my mom several times but I can’t get through. It is like she put a wall up or something. ‘Uncle Ale are you there?’ I ask him through mind link and almost instantly he replies ‘Thalia where are you?’ he asks. ‘We’re at the checkers that are close to the house. We are in trouble Uncle Ale. There is rouges everywhere! They are surrounding us!’ I say to him. ‘We are on our way okay. We are coming for you!’ He tells me. ‘Okay hurry up please! There is too many of them! We can’t fight them all!’ I say

“I have no idea what you are talking about!” I tell the asshole in front of me. “I knew your daddy little girl! You see he was the one who gave me this scar and what did I do to him? Well, I killed him!” The man says.

WHAT! Then I hear tires screeching as my mom jumps out of the car. “Alanzo it is me you want so come and fight me! Leave my daughter alone!” I hear mom scream at him. “Mom NO! DON’T!” I yell at my mom.

I see mom running towards Alanzo, killing every rouge wolf in her sight. Alanzo then grabs mom around her neck. "Thea it is so nice to see you again after all these years!" Alanzo sneers at mom. Mom grabs his arm twisting it around and breaking it. "I can't say I feel the same about you after what you did!" Mom yells at Alanzo. "You deserved everything after you tried to rape me you motherfucker!" Mom says as she kicks Alanzo in his stomach, sending him flying a few meters away. Alanzo gets up and says " Carlos didn't deserve to be Alpha and he sure as hell didn't deserve you!" Alanzo says as he disappears into thin air. 

"What the f**k?" I yell out loud 'Thalia let me take over please! I can take care of these assholes!' Alexa says I look over to where Sophie is and it is looking like she is getting weaker and weaker. I look at mom and then suddenly Tony appears right behind her. "Surprised? I've changed a lot since we last saw each other Thea. You can't beat me!" Tony says "Werewolves can't teleport! How in the hell did you do that?" Mom asks Alanzo. "That is for me to know and for you to never find out!" Tony says as he raises his hand with a silver knife in it. "Say hello to Carlos for me will ya?" He says as he starts stabbing mom

"MOM!" I scream as mom's body falls to the ground!
