CHAPTER 6: XANDER ON EDGE

Damien POV

It is Wednesday today and I am sitting in my office going through the pack’s financial reports. Xander has been on edge the whole day today. He keeps pacing around in my head and it is pissing me off. ‘What the f**k is wrong with you today?’ I ask him ‘I don’t know! Something happened to our mate!’ Xander replies. ‘What are you talking about? We don’t have a mate!’ I tell him ‘Remember the pain we felt this morning? That was our mate’s pain!’ Xander says. He is right I did feel pain at around 12 pm last night. ‘That is impossible! We haven’t met our mate yet so how can we feel her pain?’ I tell him as I rub my forehead. ‘It is possible if our mate is very powerful. Our mate’s wolf was awakened last night. I just know it!’ he says and I just roll my eyes at him. ‘Whatever you say man. Will you just stop pacing already!’ I tell him and he just retreats to the back of my mind. I get back to my reports when Kade comes walking into my office.

“You know it is good manners to knock first before you enter! For all you know I could have been naked!” I tell him and he just laughs at me saying “Yeah right like that will ever happen!” Kade says and I feel like I just want to punch him in the face! “You know if you were not my best friend I would have beaten the s**t out of you right now!” I grumble at him. “Yeah well I know you would not like to beat my pretty face up anyway! Girls don’t like ugly guys!” Kade says with a smirk. “Who said anything about you being pretty?” I tell him as I smirk. “Hey girls like this face and body okay so screw you!” Kade says as he glares at me! “If you say so! I would just hate to be you when you meet your mate and you bring her here where all your sluts are!” I tell him. “My mate will love me okay!” Kade grumbles at me. “Oh I know she will. She will also put you and those bitches in your place. That I can guarantee you! Anyway, is everything set for our flight to Durban tomorrow night?” I ask Kade as he sits down. “Yes, Alpha everything is set. We will be meeting Alejandro, Thea and Thalia at a restaurant called Carlos. I hear they have the best Portuguese food in all of Durban.” Kade says as he lays back on the chair.

 “Good. Is there anything else?” I ask him “Yeah the dungeon guards are complaining. They say that b***h Natasha is making a lot of noise. She’s asking to be released.” Maybe it is time I pay that w***e a little visit. I’m sick of her f*****g bullshit. She makes a lot of noise or she is not eating the food that the omegas take her or she refuses to take a bath because according to her the dungeon bathroom is not up to her standards. She probably smells like horse s**t now. “Jared tried to talk to her, I tried as well, hell I even threatened her to keep her f*****g mouth shut but she won’t listen to any of us.” Kade says as he gets up “It’s fine I will sort the b***h out later after I had lunch.” I reply just as Kade walks to the door. “I’ll be in my office if you need me.” He says “Sure thing man. See you later.” I say as I try to get back to my report but my mind goes back to Thalia. Yes, I finally know Alpha Carlos Fernandes’ daughter’s name. Alejandro sent me pictures of what they look like and I must say Thalia is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. ‘Oh yeah, I like this one!’ Xander says ‘You do?’ I ask him. ‘Yeah, she is so beautiful!’ He says as he wags his tail. ‘I think so too buddy!’ I reply as I stare at her picture on my computer.

I decide to get back to work and soon it is lunch time. I get up and walk to the kitchen where my mom is baking cookies. “Hi mom.” I say as I grab one of her delicious cookies. “Hi, angel. Are you hungry? Dolores just finished making lunch.” She says as she looks at me. “Yes mom. I’m very hungry.” I say as I grab us some glasses and pour us some juice. “Sit down and I’ll bring us some lunch.” Mom says as she walks away. I go sit down when dad walks into the kitchen. “Hi dad.” I greet him. “Hi Damien. How are you? I see you are still sane. You haven’t left that office in days.” Dad says as he sits down next to me. “Yeah we feel like we don’t see you anymore.” Mom says as she walks back into the kitchen with 2 plates in her hands. Head Omega Dolores is walking behind her with another plate. Mom puts mine and dad’s food down in front of us then she takes a seat. “Here you go, Luna Patricia.” Dolores says as she puts mom’s plate down in front of her. “Thank you, Dolores. You may have the rest of the day off. I will take over dinner for you?” Mom says as she starts eating. Dolores is in her 60’s. She has worked for my family for decades and she is like a grandma to me. She taught me everything I know about cooking. Omegas may be the lowest of the low but in my kingdom, they will be treated with respect. It is one of the laws my great grandfather implemented. If a pack defies that law, they will have me to deal with.

“Thank you Luna. Enjoy the rest of your day! Goodbye Alphas.” Dolores says as she bows and then leaves the kitchen. “Goodbye Dolores.” We all say in unison. “So why are you so on edge today Damien?” Mom says as she takes a sip of her juice. “It’s Xander mom. He’s been pacing around in my head all day. He says the pain we felt last night was my mate’s pain. He says that the pain was from her wolf being awakened.” I say as I look at my parents. They are both giving me a confused look. “What do you mean? You haven’t even met your mate so how can you feel your mate’s pain? That is impossible!” Mom says. “Xander says it is possible if our mate is a powerful she-wolf.” I tell mom as she shakes her head “I agree with Xander. I believe it is possible because I’ve heard about it happening before.” Dad says

“How do you know that dad?” I ask him as I furrow my eyebrows. “Because I think that your mate may be the Lunar wolf.” Dad says as he takes a sip of his beer. “The Lunar wolf’s mate also feels the same pain as her human does at the same time. Even if she hasn’t met her mate yet. It has been like that for centuries. You, Damien, are the mate of the Lunar wolf. You just need to find her faster now and protect her. Because now that her wolf has woken up, she releases an aura of immense power and the rogues will soon catch on to that power. She is in danger now more than ever.” Dad says as he looks me in the eyes. “We are doing everything in our power to find her dad!” I say with a sigh. “Something already tells me that you already know who she is and where she currently is. I think your gut is telling you to go there now and get to her before it is too late.” Dad says as he gets up. “I’m going for a run. I’ll see you guys later.” Dad says as he leaves the kitchen.

“I have to go do something mom. See you later.” I kiss her on her cheek then I take the plate of food that has already been set up to the dungeon. As I get to Natasha’s cell, I see the b***h laying down on the cot. I open the cell then I go in. “Get up!” I yell at her as I set the plates down on the table. She gets up then I grab her around her neck. “You listen to me and listen very f*****g carefully! You will stop your f*****g s**t today. I don’t want to hear any more complaints about you again. The next time I have to come down here again because of your s**t, I am going to f*****g kill you! I can promise you that! Do you understand me b***h?” I yell at the w***e using my Alpha King command as I slam her against the wall. She slides down gasping for air. She won’t be able to withstand my Alpha King command. No one can or else they will feel excruciating pain. Well except for my mate. “I don’t think you heard me b***h. DO YOU f*****g UNDERSTAND ME??” I am getting really pissed off with this w***e now!

“Yes Alpha King Damien, I understand.” She finally replies “Great now eat and then go take a f*****g bath! You smell like horse s**t!” I tell her as I leave the dungeon to go back to my office. I get back to work. I look at the clock just to see that it is almost 5pm when Kade barges into my office.

“Alpha Jake of Blue Stone is on the phone. There was an attack on Alejandro and his family!” Kade says “Put him on speaker phone!” I yell “What the hell happened over there Alpha Jake?” I yell as soon as Kade puts the phone on speaker.

“Alpha King. It is Tony Alanzo! He just tried to kidnap Thalia Fernandes!” And I feel my heart sink.
