CHAPTER 4: IT'S TIME WE COME OUT OF HIDING

Alejandro POV

I was doing some work in the office after Jake left. I run the biggest security company in South Africa and nobody knows what I look like as I would like to keep it that way to protect Thea and Thalia. Thea runs the restaurant but she too keeps her identity a secret. Nobody knows who runs Carlos’ place. They think Thalia is just a manager there. We run our business in secret. I hear my stomach grumbling and decide it is time to leave. I grab my phone and ask Thea if we can have lunch together. I have to tell her what Jake found out. Thea is the only person who knows that Jake and I are looking for Demetrius, but now that I know the motherfucking asshole Tony is also involved with Demetrius, I feel like she needs to know about that too. I get up to leave as I receive a message from Thea saying yes she wants to have lunch. I get in my car and drive over to Carlos’ place. As I walk into the restaurant, I see Thea sitting in our usual spot with two drinks in front of her. I walk over to her and say “You know it looks weird when you sit alone with two drinks in front of you. People might think you are an alcoholic.” I sit down across from her. “One you know I don’t give a s**t what people think of me and two this drink is for you. I feel like you have something to tell me so spill it, mister. I have already ordered us some food.” She says as she slides a whiskey across the table to me. She has that look in her eye that screams ‘don’t mess with me’, a look I know damn too well.

“Okay straight to the point. Jake found Demetrius!” I say as she looks at me wide-eyed. “But that is not all is it?” She asks “No it's not. There have been attacks on some of the packs in South Africa. Rogue wolves and vampires are attacking the packs. Demetrius is the leader of the vampires. He has been working with Tony Alanzo. Tony wants to take over as Alpha King. They are looking for something. I just don’t know what yet.” “They are looking for the Lunar wolf. They are looking for Thalia! Ale I can’t let them get to her Ale, I just can’t! She is all I have left of Carlos!” Thea says as she starts crying. “That’s not all, Jake found Demetrius’ hideout. It is somewhere in KwaZulu Natal. Thea, I promise you I will kill those bastards that took our mates away, even if it is the last thing that I do!” I say as my phone starts ringing. I see it is Jake calling me. I answer it.

Alejandro: “Hi Jake. Do you have any more new information for me?”

Jake: “Alejandro yes I do. But I have to meet with you. I have to tell you and ask you something. It is important.”

Alejandro: “I’m having lunch with Thea at Carlos’ place. Can you meet with us here?” I ask as I look at Thea. She’s nodding her head yes that Jake can meet with us. “Thea says it is okay.”

Jake: “Yes I am about ten minutes away. See you then.”

Alejandro: “See you then my friend.”  

Our food arrives and I see Thea wiping her tears away. We begin to eat our food. “So is Jake still single?” Thea asks. She knows Jake’s mate Nora died 6 years ago but this is the first time she has asked me that about Jake. “Why do you ask? Do you still have a crush on him?” I tease her “You know very well that I cared about him a lot but only as a friend so will you stop with this crush bullshit already!” She whispers yells at me. “You do have a crush on him! Admit it” I tease her again. “No, I don’t!” She whispers yells again. “So why are you whispering then?” I ask as I hear the front door opening and I see Jake standing there looking like he is looking for something. He then turns his attention to us as he storms to our table. The next thing I know he has Thea in his arms and he says the words “MATE! MINE!” Thea is standing there like a statue with her mouth wide open!

“Ohhh snap! Jake, you are Thea’s second chance mate?”

THEA POV

I stand there with my eyes and mouth wide open, looking at this incredibly handsome man in front of me. I always cared about him a lot, I even had a crush on him when I was growing up, even though I never admitted it. Jake was always looking out for me when we were kids. When I found out Carlos was my mate, Jake accepted it and said it was what the Moon Goddess wants for me. Not long after that, he met Nora. 

“Ohhh snap! Jake, you are Thea’s second chance mate?” I hear Alejandro ask as I snap out of the trance that I am in. I can’t keep my eyes off of this handsome man in front of me. He has dark brown hair, the most beautiful brown eyes I have ever seen, and a little bit of stubble on his chin, making him look sexier than ever! Damn, what is this mate bond doing to me!! “Mate!” I say as I see a smile coming onto Jake’s face and I can’t help but smile looking at his sexy face! Those lips! Damn!

“Yes, it seems we are both each other second chance mates.” Jake says as he pulls me closer to him. “We can catch up later Thea. But right now I have something important that I have to ask you guys?” Jake says as he sits down with me on his lap. The people in the restaurant are looking at us weird but we don’t give a s**t about them. “Right what is it that you wanted to ask us?” Alejandro asks as he sits back down across the table from us. “I just had a video conference meeting with the Alpha King. I told him about Demetrius and Tony and I told him about your history with those two.” Jake says “You what? What did you do that for?” Alejandro screams at us. “Relax I didn’t give them your name, but the King wants to meet with you. He thinks you will be a great ally in the coming war!” Jake says “The King offers protection for you, Thea and Thalia!” “NO! NO! Absolutely not! Thalia is the one we are protecting! She might get in danger!” Alejandro says as Jake looks at him confused. I grab Jake’s chin and turn him to me “Babe I have to tell you something but you have to promise me that you will keep it a secret please!” I say as he nods his head saying “yes I promise my beautiful mate.” “Thalia is the Lunar wolf,” I say as Jake’s eyes go wide. “That is why there are so many attacks on our packs lately. The rogue vampires and wolves are looking for the Lunar wolf!” Jake says as he takes my drink and downs the rest of it. “So you are saying that the King offers us protection if we join this war?”  I ask as I look at my handsome mate. “Yes, he is. He is looking for Tony Alanzo. We don’t know where that bastard is.” Jake says “I say yes to a meeting with the King.” I say and Alejandro looks at me in disbelief. “Think about Thalia, Alejandro. The King can protect her better than we ever could! It is time we stop running away!” Alejandro looks at me and then says with a sigh “I guess you are right. Okay then set up a meeting with the King for us. Tell him we will join the war. Will you Jake?” Alejandro asks as he looks at Jake.

“Consider it done!” Jake says as he takes out his phone. He starts calling someone. “Good afternoon Alpha King Damien. It is Alpha Jake. I have spoken with my former beta and his sister and they have agreed to meet with you.” Jake says “Great tell them we will contact them tomorrow to set a meeting. It's better if we meet them in person.” Alpha King Damien says over the phone. “We are in Durban. Maybe we can meet with you in person sometime next weekend?” I say as I look at Jake. “We can meet next Friday morning as I will be in Durban for another meeting then. My beta will be in touch with you then. Can we please have your names then Miss…” The Alpha King replies “Yes my name is Thea Fernandes and my brother’s name is Alejandro de Gouveia. I will ask my mate Jake to forward you my and Alejandro’s contact details.” I say “Perfect. My beta will be in touch with you tomorrow.” I hear the Alpha King reply. “Great thank you, Alpha King. I appreciate it.” I say back. “Congratulations on finding your second chance mate Alpha Jake.” I hear the Alpha King tell Jake. “Thank you Alpha King Damien. I will forward their contact details to you via email.” Jake replies as he kisses my lips. “Thank you, Alpha Jake.” Alpha Damien says as he hangs up the phone.

I then take Jake’s phone and I add my new number to his contacts. I give him his phone back. He goes into his email and starts typing an email with my and Alejandro’s numbers on it. He then sends it to the King. Alejandro gets up and says “well I have to get going. I am sure you have to catch up. I’ll see you guys later. Bye!” He walks out of the restaurant to his car. I then look back at Jake and ask him how has he been since I haven’t seen him for almost 18 years. “Great actually even better now that I have my mate again!” He says as he kisses my lips and I kiss him back.

“Let's go to my office. We will have more privacy there!” I grab his hand and lead him down the hallway to the back of the restaurant. “Lead the way pretty lady of mine!” He says and I look back at him winking. “You are MINE Jake Sentino! All MINE!” I say as I slam him against a wall in my office, kissing him.

Damien POV

“It seems that Alpha Jake Sentino’s former beta is Alejandro de Gouveia!” I tell Kade and Jared as I hang up the phone after speaking with Alpha Jake. “Really?” Jared and Kade ask me in unison “Yes really! I just spoke with Crescent Moon’s former Luna, Thea Fernandes. They are in Durban with Alpha Jake. I think they stay there. They have agreed to meet with us and will be sending us their contact information shortly.” I say just as a notification comes up on my emails. “Alpha Jake just sent us their numbers. We will contact them tomorrow morning to set up a meeting.” I say when I get a mind link from one of my pack warriors at the border saying that my parents have arrived back from their vacation in Cape Town. “My parents are back. You guys can have the night off tonight but be in my office tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock sharp.” I say as I get up to leave. “Yes, Alpha. See you tomorrow.” Kade and Jared say as they get up.

“You guys want to go out and try the new nightclub that opened in Sandton?” Kade asks as we leave my office “Nah nightclubs are not really my scene anymore! Plus my bed is calling me!” Jared says as he starts walking down the stairs. “Suit yourself! What about you Damien?” Kade asks me. “I have to spend some time with my parents! You know my mom! She complains that she doesn’t see me so much anymore! Plus I have some things to discuss with my dad. Sorry pal you are on your own!” I reply. I think my dad might have some more information for me regarding Demetrius Stone. “Man you guys are boring!! I’ll go ask Dante and Daniel if they want to go with me” Kade says as we reach the bottom floor. Dante and Daniel are twin brothers, who are also my head trainers.

“There you are my sweet baby boy! I missed you, my angel!” Mom says as she walks into the packhouse. “Hi, Mom! You do know I am not a boy anymore. I’m a grown man that can take care of himself!” I say as I hug my mom Patricia. “Oh hush now! You will always be my baby boy even if you are the Alpha!” Mom says as she fixes my shirt. “Hi, Luna Patricia.” Jared says as he walks to the kitchen. “Hi Luna.” Kade says as he follows Jared. “Hi boys!” Mom says as she waved at them “Baby boy!” I hear Jared and Kade say, laughing as they walk away. ‘f***k you fuckers’ I yell at them through our mind link but that only makes them laugh more! Motherfuckers! I will get them for annoying the s**t out of me!

“You know Patricia, I thought I was your angel?” My dad Xavier says as he walks into the packhouse carrying their luggage. “Dad what are you doing? Let me get one of the omegas to help you with that.” I say as I call one of the omegas Jess to come over. “There is still a s**t load of luggage and bags in the car. Your mother bought the whole of Cape Town!” Dad says. “You know I love to shop boys! Oh, and you are both my angels so by the way! I’m going up to our room to have a shower. I’ll see you both at dinner.” Mom says as she walks up the stairs to the Alpha floor. “Dad, can we take a walk? I have to ask you something.” I say to my dad. “Sure thing son.” Dad says. “Please take my parent's bags and luggage up to their room.” I tell the omegas as my dad and I walk out of the front door “Yes Alpha.” They reply.

“I hear there are some attacks going on at the packs in South Africa?” Dad asks as we take a walk to our park where we see some pups playing. “Yes, it seems that the rogue vampires and wolves have decided to team up and work together.” I reply.

“Do you know who their leaders are yet?” Dad asks as we sit down on one of the park benches. “Yes. The rouge werewolf leader is Tony Alanzo. He calls himself the new werewolf king. He was also involved in the destruction of the Crescent Moon pack 17 years ago. We don’t know where he is but we are looking for him.” I say as I look at my dad. “Crescent Moon pack. Yes, I remember Tony Alanzo. He was Alpha Carlos Fernandes's former beta. Exiled because he was trying to rape Luna Thea, Carlos’s mate. And also because of his violent nature.” Dad says and I turn to him asking “How do you know that dad?” “Because Carlos had to do a formal request to banish Tony and make him rouge and I granted it. The worst mistake we ever made! We should have had Tony executed!” Dad says as he balls up his fists. “Tony disappeared after Crescent Moon was destroyed. We never found him!” Dad says as he slams his fist on his knee. “Carlos was a friend of mine and also he was one hell of an Alpha! Luna Thea disappeared with their baby girl and her brother beta Alejandro. We never found their bodies at Crescent Moon” Dad adds.

“Dad Tony is working with a vampire called Demetrius Stone. Do you know anything about this vampire?” I ask then I hear a growl coming from dad. “Oh yes, I know him!” Dad growls angrily. “Well, he calls himself the rogue vampire king.” I tell dad. “Well son if you cross him, you kill that bastard you hear me! Kill him! Do not let him escape!” Dad says. I ask dad why. “Because he is responsible for killing so many supernatural creatures including your grandparents and Alejandro De Gouveia’s mate, Andrea. I have fought him many times in the past but he always escaped me using his vampire gift which is teleportation! Demetrius is looking for the Lunar wolf. He thinks if he has her then he will be able to conquer the world and produce powerful offspring. All of this is because his father, the former Vampire King Cane Black, did not give him the throne to the vampire kingdom.” Dad says and I give dad a confused look. “I thought King Cassius was King Cane’s only child?” I ask dad. “No before King Cane met his true beloved, King Cassius’ mother Victoria, King Cane had a bastard child with one of his concubines. That child is Demetrius Stone. Vampire law is that only the first child born of the King and his true beloved may take over the throne of the vampire kingdom. Cassius has also been looking for his brother for centuries.” Dad says. “You know King Cassius? I’ve never met him.” I ask dad.”Yes, we are old allies. Our families go back centuries. Cassius is a very private person. He keeps to himself most of the time. He runs Cane enterprises secretly.” Dad says as he gets up. I think that the vampires are also their target as I feel like these attacks are only starting. If it comes to that, I might have to make an alliance with Vampire King Cassius Black.

“Dad about Thea Fernandes and her brother. I know where they are.” I tell dad and Dad looks at me shocked. “How? How do you know that they are still alive?” Dad asks as he grabs my arms. “Alpha Jake Sentino of Blue Stone pack has been in contact with Alejandro all these years. Those two have been looking for Demetrius and Tony in secret. Alpha Jake knows where Demetrius’ hideout is. Kade, Jared and I will be contacting them tomorrow to set up a meeting in Durban next week. I have a feeling that Thea and Carlos’ daughter is very important to us. Call it a hunch if you want but I think that she may be the Lunar wolf.” I say to my dad.” Every time I think of her I keep feeling warm inside and I still can’t figure out why. I don’t even know what she looks like. I guess only meeting her next week will.” I say as we walk back to the packhouse.

“Maybe she is your mate. Now, let's go back before your mom sends a rescue squad to come get us.” Dad says as he puts his arm around my shoulders. “Mate! Yeah right! Seven years and I still haven’t met my mate! Maybe my mate will never exist!” I say with a sigh.

“Never say never, son! She will come! You just wait and see!” Dad says
