Chapter 20.
Keira’s POV.
My father and I were yet to have a proper conversation ever since my marriage to Jasper. This was in fact the first call I would receive from his number. So my initial shock and hesitation were only expected.
“Keira?” he said, his voice a little uncertain.
“Good afternoon, Dad. Is anything the matter?” I asked.
“Your grandfather,” he paused for a while. For the first time, I became genuinely afraid. Has something really happened to him this time?
“What’s the matter? Is he okay?” I asked in concern.
“Very far from that, Keira. Your grandfather’s finally awake and I thought you should know this right away,” he said.
I was silent, a wave of relief and joy washing over me. “Okay. I’ll be there in a bit,” I ended the call.
