What Would Happen Next

1020 Words
Camila I woke up with a headache and my face was bruised. I touched my lip and I felt a cut. I looked around the room I was in. It looked creepy. One small bed with a simple cover on the mattress. The tile on the floor was cracked. The walls had chipped paint and cracks leading to the ceiling. I felt a pain in my ankle. I looked down and noticed I was chained to the bed. It was a little tight fitting. I rubbed my ankle trying to ease the pain. I was so thirsty but I was afraid of who might come in so I didn't even try to complain. I sat on the bed and took a deep breath. "Hello dear," his voice sent chills down my spine. "I brought you food and water. I have to keep my prize possession in good health." His grin scared me. Some other man brought a tray of food and a glass of water. He put it on the bed next to me. I was reluctant to grab anything even if I was thirsty. "Listen, my dear. You can have a pleasant time here if you just let me take care of you. If you resist, then it will go badly. You will be sad and can get hurt." He walked slowly towards me. He grabbed a strand of my hair and twirled it around his index finger. "I don't want to hurt you. You are much too beautiful to ruin so quickly." I was breathing through my nose trying to remain calm. I hated this man but he had a point. If I protested and threw a fit like I did when I tried to fight him off he would hurt me. I hated the idea of playing the good captor role but what else could I do? They both left the room. I looked over at the bowl of soup and crackers they had brought me. I drank the water first and hesitated to eat but finally decided it was better than starving. I was beginning to get bored. I didn't know what time it was, there was no window in this room. Dario came by several hours after I finished eating. Another man came to take the tray and Dario handed me some clothes. He said I would be shown to a shower and would be allowed to clean up but I had to stay quiet and be a good girl. He caressed my cheek as he spoke to me. I really wanted to take a shower after that. I felt dirty just being in his presence. I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth, and used the restroom before I was led back to my room. I cried myself to sleep. I hoped my father wouldn't be angry I was playing into this mad man's hand but I also hoped my father came and found me soon. I thought about Luciano and a part of me wondered why Dario was visiting Luciano in the first place. There was still so much I didn't know. The next day, Dario came in early and told me he was going to give me something special to wear. He told me precise details of what was going to happen and what I was supposed to do. I would get dressed in a simple gown. If requested, I would have to take it off but I would have undergarments on. I took a deep breath after he said that. I held it until he finished. He said I would stand in the center of a room. A pitch black room and be asked to turn and bend over as requested. There would be a spotlight on me and to not be afraid or timid. He said that would actually be preferred but since he liked me so much he was warning me not to give away any sense of fear or nervousness. He told me my hair would be up in a ponytail but yes I could be requested to put my hair down. He said I should look straight ahead and be silent. Once it was over, I would be taken back to my room. He said it was simple and quick just as long as I was a good girl. I exhaled as soon as he left the room. I was hyperventilating. My mind raced with thoughts of what was about to happen. I was going to be put up for sale and buyers would stare at me. They would look at me closely and judge me for every little detail. If I was to their liking they would bid on me. What was happening? How did this happen? What was I going to do? I was so confused and scared. I didn't want to leave this place. I felt safer being held hostage by a monster I knew than by one I didn't. What if he wasn't so nice? A man came to tell me it was time. I was taken to the bathroom where I showered and changed. I heard a knock on the door and took a deep breath. I released it as the door opened. He led me down a quiet hallway. Dario was right, the room was pitch black. As I continued to walk, a spotlight came on. I walked to the center and stood there. I couldn't see anything. I don't think I wanted to. Everything Dario said would happen, happened. I wanted to cry but I remember his words. I couldn't show my fear. I guess they would love that. They would see me as a scared hopeless girl who they could-. I stopped myself from even thinking about what they would do to me. I was led out of the room twenty minutes later. I was counting every second and every minute in my head. They gave me a change of clothes and I went back to my room. They gave me some food and water but I couldn't eat. I soon fell asleep and feared what would happen next.
